Surprisingly, Rahul’s young brigade members like Jitin Prasad and Murli Deora, who have also gone a bit disappointed or frustrated in their respective States for various reasons, have maintained a mysterious silence on this entire sensitive issue. This comes after 23 senior leaders wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi about the need for drastic restructuring of the party. According to sources, this ‘disappointed or disgruntled’ lot of Congress leaders have gone really upset with the prevailing uncertainty at the level of the top leadership of the party, neither the ‘reluctant bride’ Rahul Gandhi seem to be Keen to take over this direct responsibility nor Sonia and Priyanka have been able to bring this entire issue of a full time Congress president to a logical conclusion. Therefore it will not be appropriate to term this group as ‘dissident’.
