Industrial production declines 10.4 pc in July 1 New Delhi: Industrial production declined by 10.4 per cent in July, mainly due to lower output of manufacturing, mining and power generation, as per the government data released on Friday. According to the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data, manufacturing sector production registered a decline of 11.1 per cent, while the output of mining and power fell 13 per cent and 2.5 per cent, respectively. “In view of the preventive measures and announcement of nationwide lockdown by the Government to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, a large number of the industrial sector establishments were not operating from the end of March 2020 onwards. “This has had an impact on the items being produced by the establishments during the period of lockdown. Start drive to benefit street vendors: Gehlot Naresh Sharma Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has directed officials to identify those living in the lower economic strata of the society and earning their daily bread as a road side vendor and to provide them benefit of various government schemes being run for such individuals. “An officer’s priority should always be to help the poor and needy so that they don’t have to run around for meagre amount of money,” Gehlot said while addressing a review meeting of Local Self Government department through video conferencing from CMR on Friday. “The street vendors need small amounts of money to run their venture, which is their bread earner.
