Soaring high: Domestic flights to resume from May 25 All airports and air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from Monday; no word yet on the resumption of international flights; many new rules and regulations are expected to be put into place that will change the flying experience New Delhi: Union Minister for Civil Aviation Hardeep Puri announced on Twitter that India will start domestic flight operations in a “calibrated manner” from May 25. This announcement comes exactly two months after the government imposed a nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus. “All airports and air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from May 25,” he added. The Ministry of Civil Aviation will soon be announcing the standard

operating procedure for domestic air travel. According to the minister, special operating procedures (SOPs) for passenger movement are being separately issued. The announcement came amid the fourth phase of the lockdown which was imposed by the government on 25 March in order to combat the novel coronavirus outbreak in the country.
