target successfully with pin-point accuracy after performing highlevel and extremely complex manoeuvres. BrahMos as 'prime strike weapon' will ensure the warship's invincibility by engaging naval surface targets at long ranges, thus making the destroyer another lethal platform of Indian Navy.

Horse-trading is a trait of Congress, not BJP: CR Patil The BJP state unit prez shoots down all allegations made by the opposition party on Sunday First India Bureau Ahmedabad: The state unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) CR Patil on Sunday accused Congress of horse-trading and denied all allegations made by the opposition party. Currently on a tour

of South Gujarat, Patil initiated the political campaign for the Karjan seat on Sunday. Notably, BJP candidate for Karjan, Akshay Patel had stated on Saturday that he had been offered Rs52 crore to switch sides last year. This statement came after Congress launched the ‘Gaddar

BJP state unit president CR Patil

Jaichando Jawaab Aapo’ (Traitors Respond) campaign against the defectors and accused them of being ‘bought’ by the BJP for Rs16 crore each. In response to the horse-trading allegations, Patil said that the issue will not harm the BJP because those who resigned from their positions as MLAs have done so for larger public interest. “Congress was the one that had ‘bought’ everything even during

Chimanbhai Patel’s tenure as chief minister, and also when Shankarsinh Vaghela was the CM. Therefore, ‘buying’ and ‘selling’ is a habit that Congress suffers from,” he alleged. He added, “The tickets granted to the turncoats were promised prior to my appointment as the state unit chief. The MLAs will have to present themselves before the people again after joining the party and get reelected if the people

provide them with a mandate.” Talking about the campaign activities, Patil said, “People are excited. They have benefited from the work done by the state government and the schemes implemented by the central government. On the other hand, the way incumbent MLAs left Congress, shows increased distrust in the party.” Patil and BJP organization general secretary Bhikhubhai Dalsania along

with the incharges and co-incharges of the state assembly seats up for polls have embarked on an organizational tour. On Sunday, the state unit chief and state vicepresident Bhargavabhai Bhatt were present in Karjan. While Bhikhubhai Dalsania and Shankar Chaudhary will travel to Morbi and Limbdi districts to provide guidance to party workers on election management and organizational matters.
