INDIA-CHINA TO COOL DOWN TENSIONS
Gandhinagar: A day after the state hit an all-time high of 524 cases in a 24-hour span, Gujarat has again recorded more than 500 cases in a single day. After 88 days, Ahmedabad is still the worst-hit in the state, accounting for 70% (17, 629) of all cases and 80% (1,253) of all deaths related to COVID-19. According to a statement issued by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation on Wednesday morning, as many as 21 patients died in the city in the preceding 24 hours, leaving the mortality rate stagnant at 7.2%. There are 3,487 active cases in the city--84 more than on Tuesday. Of the total active cases, 807 (23.1%) are from the North zone, 703 (20.2%) from the West zone, 605 (17.4%) from the East zone, and the rest from the other zones.
