WORLD WATCHES AS TRUMP, BIDEN HEAD FOR A PHOTO FINISH

The outcome now hinge on the results from six swing states where a winner was not yet declared till late night - Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin Washington: Americans woke up on Wednesday not knowing who the next US president would be as votes were still being counted in six key states that could swing the bitterly contested election to Republican incumbent Donald Trump or Democrat Joe Biden. Fueling fears of a constitutional crisis, Trump prematurely declared victory overnight and threatened to demand the intervention of the Supreme Court to stop votecounting but it continued nonetheless.

“We did win this election,” the 74-year-old president told cheering supporters in the East Room of the White House before the final vote tallies were complete. “This is a fraud on the American public.” The Biden campaign slammed Trump’s victory claim as “outrageous, unprecedented, and incorrect” and a “naked effort to take away the democratic rights of American citizens.” “The counting will not stop. It will continue until every duly cast vote is counted,” it said. Turn to P6

TRUMP DECLARES FALSE VICTORY, GETS SLAMMED BY BIDEN CAMP US President Donald Trump falsely declared victory over Democratic rival Joe Biden early Wednesday with millions of votes still uncounted in a tight race for the White House. Shortly after Biden said he was confident of his win and warned that the counting “could take a while”, Trump appeared at the White House to claim victory and said he would go to the Supreme Court. Biden camp slammed Trump on announcement

TRUMP ACCUSES BIDEN CAMP OF FRAUD, SAYS WILL MOVE SC US President Donald Trump accused the Joe Biden campaign of election fraud and said he would move the US Supreme Court. Addressing the nation at a little past 2 am on Wednesday local time, Trump said, “We want all voting (read counting) to stop. The Biden campaign had committed a fraud on the American public. The results have been phenomenal.”

We were going to win this election. Frankly, we did win… Our goal is to ensure the integrity for the good of the country. We want the law to be used in a proper manner. I want to thank the American people for their tremendous support

The counting will not stop. It will continue until every duly cast vote is counted. If president makes good on his threat to go to court to try to prevent proper tabulation of votes, we have legal teams standing by ready to deploy to resist that effort.
