he Congress party was established in 1885. The founder was AO Hume, a former ICS officer. Until Gandhiji took over the leadership of Congress on his return from South Africa (where he spent 21 years) till then the party did not have a mass base.

Rahul Gandhi has spent over 40 hours with the Enforcement Directorate. The Congress party has suddenly woken up, burning tyres on roads, dislocating traffic. One Congress man called the Prime Minister a dog, a former lady Member of Parliament got hold of the collar of a policeman who was on duty.

On the first day the slogans of the agitators included, “We are doing ‘Satyagraha’”.

Abuse and violence are not part of Satyagraha. If Sonia Gandhi was not indisposed she, would have, in her own diplomatic, decisive way pulled up these unruly Congress wallahs. However, unintended consequences have surfaced due to the agitation the Congress agitation has given life to a moriband party.

He argues his case convincingly. He is a much respected former Chief. I have met him a couple of times. I was impressed by his engaging personality and his verbal restraint.

Why has the decision of Government caused so much anger? Because it was not well thought through. What was the hurry? There are serious differences among some retired senior officers of the armed forces on the value and usefulness of Agnipath. I find even the nomenclature strange.

Why not Suryapath? Youth organisations have vigorously opposed this scheme. Some have called it ‘hair-brained’.

The phrase is not mine.

One hope’s the widespread violent protests will end soon.

But the 17-23 old recruits will at the end of 4 years ask for jobs. If not satisfied, uglier protests could follow.

In 2011 issued a “mandatory dress code for litigants” which was rather vague. Security personnel at the Bombay High Court were issued instructions to “only allow litigants wearing modest dresses in sober colours”. On some occasions, Supreme Court judges have also taken exception to inappropriate dressing. In 2018 Justices J. Chelameshwar and SK Kaul objected to the dress worn by an additional chief secretary of Rajasthan and refused to hear his case. There are many more such instances.

“The 10% reservation will be implemented in Indian Coast Guard & defence civilian posts, and all 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings,” ministry said in statement. This reservation, for aspirants recruited through scheme, would be in addition to existing quota for ex-servicemen.

369 TRAINS CANCELLED DUE TO PROTESTS

New Delhi: The Railways cancelled 369 trains on Saturday due to agitation against Centre’s recently announced Agnipath scheme for recruitment of soldiers in armed forces, officials said.

These include 210 mail/ express and 159 local trains. Railways has also partially cancelled two mail/express trains, total trains affected during day is 371, the officials said.

Kabul/New Delhi: Several blasts ripped through a Sikh gurdwara in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Saturday, killing two persons and injuring seven others, while security personnel thwarted a bigger tragedy by stopping an explosive-laden vehicle from reaching the place of worship of the minority community in the war-torn country.

“We are deeply concerned at the reports emanating from Kabul about an attack on a sacred Gurudwara in the city. We are closely monitoring situation and waiting for further details,” the MEA said.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar condemned the “cowardly attack” on a Gurudwara in Kabul and said that India is closely monitoring developments in the Afghan capital. Taking to Twitter, the External Affairs Minister also expressed concern over the welfare of the Sikh community in Afghanistan.

Rajsamand: The ACB on Saturday arrested Assistant Engineer Vigilance (Mines) Rajendra Lalas taking a bribe of `50,000. During the search of his residence, the ACB team also recovered `1.35 lakh. Rajsamand ACB ASP Anoop Singh said that a complaint was received that the accused was demanding `1 lakh from the complainant in lieu of allowing his crusher plant to run smoothly and not harassing him during the inspection.

Thief injured while collecting goods from well First India Bureau Jaipur: A 35-year-old thief got injured after he fell into a 70-feet dry well while he was getting inside the well to collect the stolen goods.

Police informed the victim has been identified as Naresh Mahawar (35), a resident of Sawai Madhopur.

“The victim, who happened to be a thief, fell into the dry well while he was getting inside the well through a rope. Suddenly, the rope broke and Naresh fell into the well. He sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. Naresh had thrown his stolen goods into the well,” police added.

Jaipur: In Rajasthan, premonsoon rains have soaked 16 districts in the last 24 hours. Ganganagar, Bikaner, Hanumangarh and Churu, which have been dry so far in the premonsoon season, received heavy rains on Friday night. In the districts of south-eastern Rajasthan also, the clouds were very kind. With this, 5 districts

including Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Alwar, Dholpur received 3-3 inches of rain. For the next four days, the Met department has issued an alert in 14 districts.

Weather experts said that this round of pre-monsoon rains will continue for the next 3-4 days. Parts of Bharatpur division (Bharatpur, Karauli, Sawai

Madhopur, Dholpur), Kota division (Kota, Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar) are also likely to receive heavy rainfall during next 48 hrs.

It rained heavily in half of Jaipur since 12 noon today. Several areas including JLN Marg, Tonk, Road, Sahakar Marg, Adarsh Nagar, Transport Nagar received heavy rainfall for 10-15 minutes in the day.

Jaipur: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM has opened its State office on Sansar Chandra Road, Jaipur near the old state Congress office building.

This state headquarters of AIMIM was once the election office of Amin Kagzi who won the Kishanpol assembly election from this office. Now the state organization headquarters of AIMIM will be operated from here.

Patna: All India Students' Association (AISA) in Bihar, protesting against the centre's newly introduced 'Agnipath' recruitment scheme for the armed forces, have found support in opposition RJD as they called for a 24hour state-wide bandh on Saturday. They have sought immediate rollback of the scheme.

Announcing the RJD's support to the bandh call, the president of its Bihar unit, Jagadanand Singh, said the short-term recruitment scheme is detrimental to the interests of the nation's youth.

Getting death threats from Dawood’s bro: Pragya Thakur Bhopal: BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur on Saturday complained of getting a call, in which the caller identifying himself as fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Iqbal Kaskar’s man, threatened to kill her for “spreading venom against Muslims”, police said.

A purported video that runs a little over two minutes has gone viral on social media, which shows Ms Thakur speaking with the caller when he made the threat call. Thakur, who represents the Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency, complained to T T Nagar police station early on Saturday.

“Following her complaint about getting the threat call, a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) was registered in the early hours on Saturday,” T T Nagar police station’s incharge Chen Singh Raghuvanshi.

Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi said the flag unfurled at the temple is not just symbol of our spirituality, but shows that our faith remains strong despite passage of centuries, and added that the centres of faith and spiritual glory of India are now being re-established.

The 'shikhara' or spire of the temple which was destroyed in the attack of Sultan of Gujarat Mahmud Begda around 500 years ago. It has been restored now as part of the redevelopment of the 11th century temple, situated on the Pavagadh hill and the flag atop it was unfurled by the Prime Minister. "For five centuries and even after 75 years of Independence the flag atop Ma Kali temple was not unfurled, today it is being done," PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister Modi stated that the rebuilding of Mahakali temple at Gujarat’s Pavagadh is part of the same ‘gaurav yatra’.

K’taka govt submits report, says license valid for 2 Yrs Bengaluru (ANI): As per directions of the Karnataka High Court, the state goverment has submitted a report, saying that no permanent license allowing use of loudspeakers in religious or other places has been given, and it is valid for only two years, sources said on Saturday.

The state government said that the use of loudspeakers is not allowed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. except for special occasions. The government told the court that the provision of the use of loudspeakers is given as per Rule 5 (1) of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control), 2000, and Section 37 of the Karnataka Police Act, 1963.

New Delhi (ANI): India’s gems and jewellery exports during the first two months of the ongoing financial year 202223 — April and June — witnessed a growth of 10.08 per cent to worth Rs 51,050.53 crore (a rise of 5.97 per cent in dollar terms to $6.65 billion) as compared to Rs 46,376.57 crore during the same period of the previous fiscal, The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) data showed.

With the government

It was discussed in meeting that, many military experts are of the opinion that Agnipath scheme will neither secure youths’ future, nor will the nation’s Army face the challenges with confidence. Experts say that there should be regular recruitment in Army, along with better training & soldiers must get all benefits, so that their future can be secured. Thus, State Govt opines that Centre should have had a discussion with all stakeholders before introducing any such scheme.

From an early age, boys will want acceptance from their dads. We learn to operate in the world by mimicking the behaviour of others around us as we grow up as human beings. If a father is concerned about his children’s well-being and treats them with respect, the young boy will follow in his footsteps. There are some persons who have fathers. nder Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme, a new record has been set after saving the life of a 15-year-old boy from a remote tribal area, Dinesh Palat, who was suffering from serious heart disease at Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital at the district headquarters with the help of an ECMO machine with German technology.

critical patient started improving. After the operation, he is healthy and has started leading a normal life. His family members are expressing their gratitude to CM Ashok Gehlot for this scheme.

Rajendra Sharma Raju of Net-Theat said that Bharatanatyam originated in Tamil Nadu state, it is a famous dance in Indian classical dances. It is said to be a 2000-year-old classical dance. Artist Khushi Sharma enthralled the audience with her soulful rendition of posture, acting and padam (story dance) in her dance moves. Hands, eyes and foot movements in the dance of happiness were attractive and gestures were full. Ramesh Purohit conducted the program. he public sector undertaking Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) will provide financial support under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), the makers of the world-famous Jaipur Foot to rehabilitate 1200 disabled persons. An MoU was signed by Gail’s General Manager (CSR) Laxmi Raman Verma and secretary of the BMVSS Bhupendra Raj Mehta and under this, the BMVSS will provide artificial limb Jaipur Foot, callipers and crutches to the disabled and he endeavour would be supported

by GAIL. The Chief General Manager of GAIL Manish Kumar Sogani, Senior manager of Gail Anjali Sood, The founder and the chief

patron of the BMVSS DR Mehta, secretary Dr Deependra Mehta, Chief executive Officer RK Agarwal, Dr M K Mathur, Dr P K Jain and Ashok Munot were present during the MoU signing ceremony. DR Mehta said under this assistance programme, the GAIL would assist the BMVSS in rehabilitating 1200 disabled by providing them with Jaipur Foot, callipers and crutches. In all 950 limbs, fitments and callipers and 250 crutches would be provided under this project. Mehta said the BMVSS will rehabilitate the disabled from its two centres in Malviya Nagar and from the SMS Hospital. This project will be completed by March 30, 2023. A serious case of deadliest cancer was treatred by Dr Ankur Punia in Medical Oncology, Mahatma Gandhi Hospital on Saturday. Virendra Kumar Sharma, a resident of Jaipur, was suffering from serious kidney cancer aged 42 years. The cancer had spread so much that his life was becoming difficult. Along with this, perianal fistula was also formed.

This patient was treated by Dr Ankur Punia. During this time his unbearable pain Dr Nipun Lamba treated the pain of the patient by neurolysis method and provided relief. It is worth mentioning that Mahatma Gandhi Hospital has a Department of Pain and Palliative Medicine, which is providing regular services to reduce the pain of cancer patients.
