n his 30th death anniversary the nation misses Rajiv Gandhi more than ever before. As we mourn our dead battling Covid 19 pandemic, feel helpless, we miss Rajiv Gandhi. We miss his modern outlook, progressive views and scientific temper. We miss his youthful energy & charm. We miss his reassuring calm, his composure and confidence on the steering. We miss his inclusive approach, his empathy for the poor and the deprived.
We miss his sensitivity. His ability to both reach out and open himself. We miss his ability to inspire. We miss his healing touch. We miss his humility to course correct and learn from his mistakes. We miss his commitment to the principles he lived and died for. We miss his leadership, especially in the Congress party which is at crossroads. His apparent heir and a young and dynamic Rahul Gandhi is yet not certain to take over the command and challenge of leading the party in such critical times.
