We’ve had a crazy last few months on the second floor of the library since we have been dealing with summer heat and no AC. We would like to thank everyone for their patience with the very hot and stuffy conditions.
As fall and cooler weather arrives, the upstairs is finally comfortable again! We have moved the newspapers and all of the comfy seating back to the second floor. The stacks are pleasant for browsing, too.
You can find 4 chairs and a charging station as well as a high-top table and 2 chairs in the newspaper reading area at the end of the nonfiction stacks by the windows. If you like to read in a quieter place, there are 3 chairs and a charging station located in the Local History room off the computer area There are also several tables and 2 computers in that room for patrons to use
All of our small study rooms are also available for reservations again Feel free to close the doors to have meetings, online classes, small group discussions, or just take a phone call We have left a fan in each room if you desire a little more air movement, but they are quite comfortable without it. You can reserve a study room at farmvillelibrary.org/meetingspace
There are many benefits to our partnership with ECU Health and to being one of their many Health Hubs. One of which is that we have been given 300 at-home COVID test kits to distribute to our patrons.
Beginning on Monday, November 4th, and continuing while the supply lasts, anyone can come to the 2nd floor reference desk and request 2 test kits. If you would like additional test kits, you can request 4 kits per household to be mailed to you through USPS. For more information or to request kits by mail, click on the image at the right or go to https://covidtests.gov/

Copies of the book (including large print) are available for check out at the adult services desk located on the second floor. We hope to see you at one of our Book Club meetings!
“In this exquisite story of family, food, grief, and endurance, Michelle Zauner proves herself far more than a dazzling singer, songwriter, and guitarist. With humor and heart, she tells of growing up one of the few Asian American kids at her school in Eugene, Oregon; of struggling with her mother's particular, high expectations of her; of a painful adolescence; of treasured months spent in her grandmother's tiny apartment in Seoul, where she and her mother would bond, late at night, over heaping plates of food ” -Amazon
