


ECU Health’s Community Health Improvement group asked the Library to partner with them in a blood pressure awareness grant program called “Know It, Control It.” The program included placing a self-service blood pressure station in the library!
The blood pressure station arrived on Tuesday, March 25th and is located at the Church Street entrance of the library, near the card catalog, and is ready for use by anyone.

Dr. Sue McRae of ECU will lead an educational birdwatching walk at the Farmville Nature Trail beginning at 8am on Saturday, May 3rd.
Everyone will meet at the StoryWalk at Oliver Murphey Park at 4030 Dale Drive.
Register for the event using the QR code at the left so we will know how many to expect and won’t leave anyone behind when we start the walk

Toddler Storytime at 10:30 am
Kids can waddle, toddle and wiggle during Toddler Time for ages 1-3. The 30-minute program includes a read-together book, lap bounces, music, and movement with shaker eggs and scarves, and concludes with the bubble dance. Each family is provided a copy of the featured Read Together book to share during the program.

Lapsit Storytime at 9:30 am
This interactive program between children and their caregivers features ageappropriate activities for ages birth to 15 months. Preschool Storytime at 10:30 am
Preschool Storytime features early literacy activities for ages 3-5 including a picture book read aloud, music and movement, and a hands-on activity including STEM and art projects.
Wednesday, April 2 - special guest
Dr. Ivy, Family Nurse Practitioners with Blessed and Healthy Families, will be a guest reader for a special storytime focusing on Healthy habits for babies and toddlers.
Wednesday, April 16 - Pajama Storytime
Children are encouraged to come dressed in their pjs or comfy clothes and bring along a stuffed animal. We’ll read bedtime stories and burn off some energy to help them get a good nap!
Wednesday, April 17 - Storytime Party! 10am
Join us at an earlier time for a party celebrating National Library Week. There will be stories, games, and snacks.
Wednesday, April 21 - Egg Hunt for ages 1-8 10am
We’re Going on a n Egg Hunt! Locate your favorite picture book characters throughout the library to find the eggs. Trade your eggs for a treat at the 1st floor desk. The Bunny will be available for photos.

The story Wonder Walkers / Caminantes Curiosos will be read in English and Spanish. Strollers and wagons are welcome.
This is a bilingual telling of the story of two kids who let their imaginations soar as they look at the world in a whole new way while taking a “Wonder Walk ”

Farmville Public Library is excited to introduce you to NC Kids Level Up, the ebook and e-audiobook collection for kids in grades 4th-8th. You'll find your kids favorite series and nonfiction titles for research projects. Download titles to your favorite device via the Libby app or read online in your browser. All you need is a library card and PIN number from Farmville Public Library.

We’ll also learn the story of librarian and storyteller Pura Belpre through the book, Planting Stories. There will be real cupcakes to enjoy, too!
Elementary Eggventures

Dress for a mess. We’ll use shaving cream and food coloring to marble dye an egg. We’ll use bricks to build eggs, too.
The Young Adult Collection, located on the second floor, has been divided into two new categories:
Middle Grade Plus (6th-8th grades)
Upper Grades (9th-12th grades)
The characters and stories are still YA, we have just divided the books by the maturity level of their content. We hope it will help our patrons choose the books they want to read.
