for family Easter fun! Easter Card for Gran!

Fold a piece of card firmly and draw an egg shape from the folded edge. Cut the egg out leaving about 2-3cm of the folded edge intact. Your child can decorate the front with tissue, felt tips, wrapping paper, ribbon... whatever you have. Faberge or ‘Freestyle’ it will be loved! Inside the card they can stick a photo of themselves on the right and write their message on the left.

Stained Glass Eggs Cut a large egg shape out of greaseproof paper. Cut different coloured tissue papers into squares and paste randomly on to the egg shape using pva glue, leave to dry. On a piece of black card draw round the egg shape and then draw cutting lines up to 1cm inside and outside the line. Put a second piece of card underneath and cut out the centre and round the outside to form two frames. Put glue one frame and stick the ‘window’ on top, put glue on one side of the second frame and sandwich the window between the two frames. Punch a hole in the top of the frame, thread ribbon or wool through and tie a loop and hang in the window.

Egg Games! Hard boil some eggs, cool and let the kids decorate them or draw their faces on them with felt tips. Once dry you can have egg and spoon races, perhaps around an obstacle course for extra fun, or roll them down slopes or ramps in the garden - weather permitting!

New Youth Theatre is extremely pleased to announce that their next senior production will be “Grease The Musical”. This fantastic show has not been available to amateur/community groups for over 20 years due to the phenomenal success it has received both in the West End and with the various touring productions. New Youth Theatre is delighted to be one of the first groups in Mansfield to be able to stage this production. Rehearsals will begin in April and the show will be staged at the Palace Theatre Mansfield on the 18th & 19th June 2013. Grease is a musical about teens in love in the 1950’s! It’s California and greaser Danny Zuko and Australian Sandy Dumbrowski are in love. They spend time at the beach, but when they go back to school, what either of them doesn’t know is that they both now attend Rydell High. Danny’s the leader of the T-Birds, a group of black-jacket greasers while Sandy hangs with the Pink Ladies, a group of pink-wearing girls led by Rizzo. While ‘hip’ Danny and ‘wholesome’ Sandy resolve the problems of their mutual attraction for each other, the gang sings and dances its way through such nostalgic scenes as the pyjama party, the prom, the burger palace, and the drive-in movie. In the end Sandy realizes that she must change herself to truly be accepted by Danny and his friends. The New Youth Theatre concept is simple. Children between the ages of 3-17 years are taught how to develop and improve their performing arts skills whilst rehearsing for a fully staged musical each term.
