Since 2008 they have been taking their preschool children each week to local private woodland to learn about nature, make dens, cook on an open campﬁre, use full size tools and generally experience the great outdoors. Rugbytots – the world’s favourite rugby-based activity session for children and toddlers – has arrived in Newark!

Rugbytots is a fun, interactive rugby play programme for children aged between two and seven. The sessions are led by Rugbytots’ engaging, enthusiastic and highly qualiﬁed coaches. Based around learning through play, they encourage fundamental rugby skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, and running with the ball, as well as helping to build self-conﬁdence through teamwork. Rugbytots is brought to Nottingham by former Welsh international rugby player, James Ireland, who recently moved to West Bridgford with his young family. Mini Carrot Cakes INGREDIENTS:       

1 tsp ground ginger 2 tsp bicrbonate of soda  50g desiccated cocnut Lemon & Cream Cheese Icing  125g low fat cream cheese  150g icing sugar  1 lemon for zest  30ml lemon juice 

225g carrots peeled & grated 150ml rapeseed oil 50g golden caster sugar 100g soft brown sugar 4 eggs 330g self-raising ﬂour 2 tsp ground cinnamon



METHOD Preheat oven to gas 4, 180°C, fan 160°C

Combine the oil, sugars and eggs in a food processor on a medium speed until blended and smooth or mix in a large bowl.

Gradually add the self-raising ﬂour, spices and bicarbonate soda, keeping the mixer at a low speed.

Get the little ones to use a wooden spoon to gently mix the grated carrot and desiccated coconut into the cake mixture.

Spoon or pipe the carrot cake mixture 3/4 of the way up into mini rubber muﬃn moulds or mini muﬃn tins lined with cupcake wrappers. Get your little helpers involved by spooning the mixture into the tray. Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden on top.

Whilst the cakes are baking, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth in a large bowl. Add the icing sugar and lemon juice, beat until smooth with a wooden spoon. The kids will love this messy step!

Taster Sessions Available Rehearsals start January 2019 New Youth Theatre is extremely excited to announce that their next senior production will be “The Addams Family”. Rehearsals will begin in January 2019 and the show will be staged at the Palace Theatre Mansfield on the 19th & 20th March 2019 It’s a dismal day at the Addams family’s manse, with the everapproaching storm clouds reflecting the gloomy atmosphere that has beset the household. Daughter Wednesday, now eighteen years old, has found herself experiencing a surprising new sensation, one that frightens both her and her family: she has fallen in love. Lucas Beineke, the object of her affections, comes from a seemingly normal family, and he and his parents Mal and Alice are on their way to the Addams’ estate to become better acquainted with the family over dinner. Brother Pugsley, who has been largely ignored since Wednesday’s involvement with Lucas, begins to miss the attention his sister previously paid to him and pleads with her to torture him once more. Meanwhile, mother Morticia finds herself conflicted over her ever-maturing daughter’s newfound feelings, while oblivious father Gomez simply wishes things would remain the way they were. As they learn to relate to the Beinekes and cope with Wednesday’s romance, one thing is certain: the Addams family will never be the same. The New Youth Theatre concept is simple. Children between the ages of 3-17 years are taught how to develop and improve their performing arts skills whilst rehearsing for a fully staged musical each term.
