AN UPDATE ON THE WORLD MEETING
Round Table South Africa (RTSA) has been awarded the honour of hosting the RTI World Meeting 2023, set to take place in September of this year. This marks the first time in 17 years that the World Meeting will be held in South Africa. It is also the first time in 9 years that it will be hosted in the African, Middle East and Indian Ocean region.
As the host association, we are determined to showcase the best that their country and association have to offer while also sharing their passion for the Rondel and proving that they are more than just the "Buffalo." The team is also dedicated to providing an incredible experience and value to all meeting attendees.
To make attendance as accessible and attractive as possible, we offer flexible registration packages and the cheapest registration rates in a decade. Registrations opened on January 10th and exceeded 320, with the team aiming for more than 500 registrations.
In addition to the main conference, we are also offering a variety of pre-tours and day tours during the World Meeting to provide a truly memorable experience for all attendees. Some of these tours are already sold out, so if you are interested, please book these without delay. The team has carefully selected hotels and locations in Cape Town to showcase the best the city has to offer.
However, hosting such a large event cannot be done by a small team alone. We are calling on local members to assist in making the World Meeting a success by helping with tasks such as welcoming guests at the airport, managing the kids' program, and stewarding. Those interested in assisting can email convenor@rtiwm.org.

ARTSA: A JOURNEY OF FRIENDSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP
As a seasoned tabler, I've had the privilege of experiencing many benefits of being a Round Table member, from making lifelong friends and participating in various projects and events to gaining a deeper understanding of our organization on a global scale. But one event stands out above the rest: the ARTSA – The AGM of Round Table Southern Africa.
I first heard about ARTSA from my fellow Austrian tablers in 2011, and I was immediately intrigued. The idea of visiting Round Table in the southern hemisphere and experiencing Southern African tablers' dynamic and unique culture was too good to pass up. And so, in 2015, I was lucky enough to attend my first ARTSA Meeting in Windhoek, Namibia, as the PRO of Round Table Austria.
The adventure started with unexpected obstacles, such as lost luggage and delayed flights, but nothing could dampen my excitement. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Ninja, Ernest, and Philip, tasked with picking me up. That 45-minute drive with two bottles of Brandy and Coke was a sign of things to come. The hospitality I experienced in those first few minutes was unbelievable, and I felt like I was part of the family. Attending the meeting, making new friends like my dear Jacques Visagie, and seeing all the incredible community service projects that Round Table Austria supported were lifechanging.
I also had the opportunity to visit fellow tablers on the Natal North Coast, where I was again struck by the warmth and hospitality of the local community. The feeling of being involved and welcomed was overwhelming, and it was amazing to see our impact on a local level.

After returning home, I was determined to keep my promise of visiting all 14 ARTSA meetings. I attended my next ARTSA in Margate, where I felt like I was coming home. The hospitality, the camaraderie, and the friendships I formed with the Natal North Coast tablers like Peter Harding and Boela Bekker were truly special. The way that ARTSA involves families, with socials hosted at someone's house, is unique to Round Table and really strengthens the bonds between members.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to attend ARTSAs in Vanderbijlpark, Upington, and Langebaan, among others. I've also had the opportunity to participate in the Owen Freye Tour from Cape Town to Upington. I visited numerous western and northern cape clubs and was struck by the unique clubhouse culture within Round Table.
Langebaan was definitely a standout ARTSA, and it started with a great pick-up from the CPT airport by my dear friend Graham Cornelissen. The massive hardcore hut we stayed in was unforgettable, and I extended my stay to six weeks!
In conclusion, what makes ARTSA so special is the hospitality, camaraderie, and sense of belonging experienced at each meeting. Whether meeting new friends, experiencing the unique clubhouse culture, or participating in community service projects, ARTSA is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for any tabler. I'm grateful for the memories and friendships I've formed through ARTSA, and I can't wait for the next one!

CHRISTMAS TREE PROJECTHILTON242
Over the December period we as Hilton 242 did our annual Christmas tree project. A lot of fun was had over this period getting out and promoting and selling trees to raise funds for a school in the area that needed financial help.
We also donated a Christmas tree and decorated it for the prize giving at the end of the year.
To all involved well done on a great project all of your hard work has not gone unnoticed.
A massive thank you to all of the that supported this project. It would not be a success without you support.☺

PORT ALFRED 177 FOOD DONATION
After a very successful food collection at Rosehill Mall this past Sunday, we managed to distribute the goods to House of Hope in Bathurst as well as Port Alfred Soup Kitchen.
A big thank you must go to Rosehill Superspar Port Alfred for their generous donation and continued support as well as the local community of Port Alfred! Without your support we can not help those in need!

AREA CHAIRMAN VISIT TO ADELAIDE 194
We had the honour to host our EP chairman Pienaar Allers that visited Adelaide 194 the Friday before our induction dinner.
We had our Feb business meeting where he attended together with our EP secretary Paul from Algoa 108 and we had the opportunity to share with him that we are donating another R56K in Jan/Feb 2023.
Like always there were lots of fellowship and we had to go to sleep before the sunrises as we had a hunt lined up for the Saturday. I had the privilege to take our EP chairman out to shoot his first animal and what an experience it was.
After the first one down we couldn’t stop him �� but we managed to make it back in time to shower and get ready for the induction dinner.
An awesome weekend with proper charity work, fellowship and gees.

177 was asked to, in conjunction with, Port Alfred Business forum, Sunshine coast tourism and Port Alfred Lions Club, to assist Port Alfred Hospice in a evening of Carols by candlelight.
We very happily agreed and helped raise over R8000 on the evening through very generous donations from the crowd. All proceeds have been given to Hospice to continue the excellent work they do in our community.

ADELAIDE 194 & CRADOCK 37 INDUCTION DINNER
On Saturday 4 February Adelaide 194 and Cradock 37 had their combined induction dinner at De Oude Fabreeck in Bedford.
With everyone dressed up in their mooi moois we were ready for a night of reflecting on the year we had as Adelaide RT and Cradock RT respectively.
The start of the night was a bit delayed due to loadshedding, but this hiccup did not dampen our spirit as it is always nice to take a bit of time to look back and reflect on the projects you ran and donations you were able to make.
As outgoing chairman I would just like to thank my tablers and the ladies of Adelaide 194 for their selfless work during the year. I am extremely proud of what we managed to achieve and of the donations we were able to make to various organisations and people.
The incoming Chairmen were also able to announce their councils and give a bit of insight into what the plans are for the year ahead.

BETHLEHEM 60: SKAAPKOP-ETE
Round Table Bethlehem 60 het op Vrydag 11 November 2022 sy laaste amptelike fondsinsameling vir die jaar gehou. Hierdie keer was dit om fondse in te samel vir Masechaba waar hulle tans besig is met opknappingswerk.
Daar is besluit om ‘n skaapkop-ete by Inkwe & Shaka’s Kraal aan te bied. Die aand is goed deur die publiek ondersteun. Hulle kon reeds voor die tyd kaartjies koop sodat genoeg koppe bestel kon word. JC’s Catering het die spyseniering gedoen en hulle het ook gesord dat daar ‘n keuse van iets te ete is vir diegene wat nie so mal is oor skaapkop eet nie. Die samesyn het hoogty gevier en daar is heerlik saamgekuier.
Werner “Spannie” Erwee, lid van Round Table Bethlehem 60 en organiseerder, se hulle is baie dankbaar vir die ondersteuning, veral die tyd van die jaar, wanneer mense geld probeer wegsit en spaar vir die vakansie en Kerstyd wat om die draai is.
Round Table Bethlehem 60 is ongelooflik dankbaar vir een en elke persoon in die gemeenskap vir hulle bydrae en ondersteuning deur die jaar van 2022. Ons kan nie wag vir 2023 en om dit nog ‘n groter en beter jaar te maak nie.

HAMBURGERS 4 A CHANGE
Bethlehem 60 was approached to do the catering at a fundraiser for the Bethlehem Golf & Country Club. The day saw 124 Golfers teeing of with what started to be a beautiful day in the capital of the Eastern Free State.
As the day progressed, thunder clouds rolled in with a heavy Thunderstorm with a side of hail coming down in full force as the last golfers arrived back at the club house.
What is a project without some challenges …. The lapa where we prepared the burgers for the evening flooded within minutes. Tablers were braaing patties and cutting buns in ancle deep water.
The evening consisted out of a couple of local bands playing, with Steve Hoffmeyer being the main event.
At 1st it seemed as if the heavy weather kept the good people of Bethlehem away, but as soon as the weather got better, they arrived to enjoy an evening of good music and most likely the best burgers ever made by Tablers.
With the assistance of our Table Legs, we managed to survive a madhouse of crazy summer rainstorms and will most likely not be eating a burger any time soon again.
After nearly 400 burgers sold, we have seen enough to last us the next year.

EXPERIENCE
Once upon a time, there was a small town that was struggling to raise funds for a local charity. The town had tried everything from bake sales to car washes, but nothing seemed to work. That is until a group of young and adventurous locals produced an idea - an epic round table tube race.
The spirit of Sabie can only be captured by walking the winding magical bamboo forest, climbing to the summit of the mystic mountain, wandering through the pine forests, and traversing the abandoned train tracks.
Once a year, the people of the nearby towns would gather at the base of the Mystic Mountain, for the annual Round Table Tube Race. This was a tradition that had been passed down for generations and held a deep significance for the community.
As the sun rose on the day of the festival, the townsfolk began their adventure which led to the foot of the mountain. The air was filled with excitement, as people chattered and laughed with one another, their voices echoing off the surrounding cliffs.
As the festival grew in popularity over the years, more and more people began to camp at the base of the Mystic Mountain. Tents dotted the landscape, and the sound of laughter and music filled the air.
As the cool Friday night fell, live bands took to the stage, their music echoing off the mountain walls. The people gathered around the tent, dancing and singing together, their voices blending into a joyful chorus.
The music was a mixture of upbeat tunes and modern rhythms, each band bringing their own unique style and energy to the festival. Some played haunting melodies, while others brought the crowd to their feet with lively, upbeat tunes.

MYSTIC MOUNTAIN – A TRUE SABIE
The next morning it was time for the Tube Race - The race would take place on the town's river, which was known for its wild rapids and swirling eddies. The goal was to have people compete against each other in a race down the river, while sitting on a round inflatable tube, like a giant doughnut.
As the race began, the teams quickly realized that the river was much more challenging than they had anticipated. The rapids were stronger, and the currents were more powerful. The teams had to work together to navigate the twists and turns, and some even had to use their hands to paddle.
On the warm Saturday evening, and the small town was bustling with excitement as people prepared for the music festival. The festival was held in a large Marquee tent, which had been amplified by a vibrant and colorful stage, surrounded by food trucks and vendors selling all kinds of treats.
As the sun began to set, the first band took to the stage, and the crowd erupted into cheers. The music was a mix of rock and folk, and it echoed through the mountains as people danced and sang along.
As the night went on, more bands took to the stage, and the music got louder and more energetic. The tent was now packed with people, and the smell of delicious food filled the air.
Children ran around, their faces painted with bright colors, while adults sat on blankets, enjoying the music and the warm summer breeze. Friends caught up with each other, sharing stories and laughter, and strangers bonded over their shared love of music.

The festival ended, and the crowd slowly dispersed, but the energy lingered in the air. People chatted and hugged, reluctant to let the night end. The festival had brought thousands together, and it was a night that no one would forget.
People started making their way home, the sound of the music still echoed in their ears, and the memories of the festival lingered in their hearts. It was a night of community, music, and celebration, and it had brought the people closer together. The next year's festival was already being planned, and everyone was already looking forward to another night of music, food, and good times.
The round table tube race had become a huge success, and the town had raised more money than it ever had before. Everyone is already looking forward to next year's race, and the local charity are thrilled with the support they will receive.
From that day on, the round table tube race became an annual tradition, and it brought the community together for a day of fun and fundraising. It was an epic event that no one would ever forget. Round Table Gauteng attended the Tube race this year again not only to help, but support the project and partake in the festivities, here once a year we get to meet with old friends, celebrate and drive impactful change in the Sabie/White River Communities.
As the people dispersed, they knew that they had been changed by the festival, that they had been touched by the power and mystique of the mountain. And they knew that they would return the following year, to share more stories, to connect with each other, and to once again feel the magic of the Round Table Tube Race at the feet of the Mystic Mountain.
Through it all, the Round Table stood in the center of the festival, a silent witness to the magic of the night. As the music faded and the last embers of the hopeful souls died out, to return again next year.

GOLDEN EAST 181 SANTA SLEIGH
Round Table Golden East 181 has joined with Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora for their annual Santa Sleigh project.
We visited County View and Boat Lake Village in Benoni, collecting toys, old clothes, Tinned food and many other donations that were distributed to those in need. Just a small gesture in spreading some festive Joy over Christmas! ��

FATHER CHRISTMAS VISIT
On the 13 December 2022 Round Table Eshowe 24 held their annual Father Christmas visit.
The event was held at the Eshowe sports club prior to their night market.
Father Christmas got a little wet as the heavens opened just before his set time of arrival by means of a jeep.
Many kids were overjoyed to meet him and receive their gifts, all funds raised through Santas visit went towards food for SPCA Eshowe.

SANTA DRIVE 2022
Round tables Empangeni 61 and Richards bay 200 collaborated on the Santa Drive 2022, In this project we brought the joy back to the Christmas spirit, Over 4 days Santa and his Elves delivered children's Christmas present to them in his Sleigh!
A total of 194 Christmas present were delivered by Santa and his Elves, During two of Santas stops, hundreds of people gathered with their child to grab a quick photo opportunity with Santa and his Elves.
With the proceeds and donations made to this project we where able to Donate 60 Christmas hampers to Empangeni child welfare and they got to meet Santa and his Elves too!
In these day, the impact we made by this project in our community is difficult to put into word, as the smiles and excitement we saw in the eyes and smiles of the children and even parents are untranslatable.
Thank you to all who was involved in making this years SANTA Drive a major success and bringing the spirit of Christmas back into the community.

CHANGING OF THE GUARD
RICHARDS Bay Round Table 200, at a black-tie affair on Saturday, inducted their 53rd chairman since the chapter was instituted in 1975. Highly experienced member Jean Schoonhoven took over the chain of office from outgoing chair Henning de Wet, who was able to report back on an extremely successful past year. In his address, De Wet shared the major contributions RT200 had made to communities, charities, organisations, and individuals during his year in office.
He thanked those sponsors who had contributed in financial, material, or other ways to the impactful change the group had been able to make in 2022. Fundraising events had included the extreme outdoor ‘Macnab Challenge’ which tested the stamina and perseverance of participants; the fun-filled pub quiz which raised thousands thanks to guests opening their hearts and purses; the popular annual golf day; and the Santa Drive, in collaboration with Empangeni RT61.
The latter brought joy to hundreds of children and families and exemplified the season of giving and Goodwill. Continuing the theme of benevolence, De Wet proudly listed the many institutions which had received aid from RT200 over the year, ranging from charities to feeding schemes across NGOs, schools, plus sport and environmental groups.

Certificates of recognition were handed to citizens and members who had made outstanding contributions to the community and to RT200 over the past year. These included City Mayor Xolani Ngwezi and municipal manager Nkosenye Zulu, Dave Savides (Zululand Observer), Keelan Govender (Genmac Engineering), Marius Mostert, Warren Mitchell and Siza Ntshangase (Mitchell & Associates), Sbu Mkhize (Scribante),Richards Bay Coal Terminal, and Martin van der Linde (41er).
A number of trophies were awarded on the night, with Corne Davel and Bridgette Butcher named as Tabler of the Year and Leg of the Year respectively.
In his acceptance speech, incoming RT200 chair Jean Schoonhoven paid tribute to the ‘fantastic effort’ of outgoing chair Henning de Wet. He pledged to bring about new opportunities for service under his motto ‘Aspire to Inspire’, with a fourway focus: membership development and retention, fellowship, increased public awareness and image, and fundraising and projects.
The well-known young business philanthropist, who holds numerous commercial study qualifications, called for continued public and corporate support.

9 days 1240km sounds so easy, easy reachable!!!
It all started a year ago, William White and the skema 2 sea team previously teamed up with Hartz 186 in 2019 when we went all the way to Strandfontein on a 1200km trip, I kid you not. It was for 4 children in our community to cover their medical bills.
This time around we did it for awareness of Cystic fibroses and medical aid to a young gentleman of our community Shiloh Grewar.
We did various fundraisers over 2022 involving our entire community and OFM radio station with awareness towards Cystic fibrosis.
Came D day 05 January 2023 we were ready to take on this most worthy challenge, with R240k already in the bank we had to finish what we started.
No one said it was going to be easy but rewarding as FK.
How rewarding we did not know yet.
The task at hand was clear 9 riders 9 days 1240k and 7 roundtable clubs had to be done and dusted on the 13th of January. It was a blast meeting up with our fellow tables, which provided some great food and even better company.
Thank you Douglas,Prieska,Oudshoorn,George, Mosselbay,Caledon and Bredasdorp for showing the spirit of friendship and Fellowship. We raised R50k between them!!

Whoo our mascot made a big impact on this trip and was widely welcomed with open arms. Being inducted on your first day is no mean feat and getting your buffalo honours in South Cape is one that few ever will achieve. He travelled the world with us and is his end goal to be auctioned off with all his pins on Artsa 2023, A worthy prize to claim your own indeed.
The tablers of Hartz 186 did this trip on their own accord with time away from work and family spending 3361km together, making our friendship even stronger, we are stronger together! Was it worth it? a resounding yes!!!

On Saturday 4th Feb, George Round Table hosted the Round Table South Cape Area Mass Chairman Induction dinner at the MOTH Hall in George.
What a prestigious event it turned out be. All the Tables in the South Cape Area turned out in their most beautiful attire, alongside their wives and partners, who provided the evening with that extra glitz and glamour that only our ladies could.
George 30 would like to thank our Chairman, Johan Lochner and his Wife, Ronel, for putting on a extravagant event. Every detail was attended to and all guests in attendance had a spectacular time.
From George 30, we would like to wish our new council for the, only the best in their endeavours to reach ne heights this year under the leadership of Johan.
We are most definitely motivated and hungry to keep growing, keep delivering impactful change and making a lasting difference.

This past weekend Round Table Oudtshoorn 33 attended the South Cape Mass Induction Dinner hosted by George Round Table 30.

SWELLENDAM 179 AGM
Swellendam 179 recently welcomed Eduan “Lyf” Kriel into their ranks as a new member at their annual AGM. Lyf will also have the added responsibility of stepping into his new role as the Chairman of Swellendam.
Granted, this is not ideal, the survival of this Table is of paramount importance to the entire South Cape area.
We will be supporting Lyf with everything we have to exponentially grow this Table as best possible, whilst at the same time, protecting the integrity and upholding the standards of the Table in Swellendam.
We commend you Lyf for putting your hand up and committing to the fight, of saving your Table.

DRAK CHALLENGE 2023
The Drak Challenge 2023 was a huge success despite the change of venue from previous years. This year, the event took place at the Duck and Spoors with Sani 152 in their usual spot behind the bar.
The line-up of live acts was incredible and gave the marquee a great atmosphere enjoyed by all. The event was well supported by locals and race participants, and on behalf of Round Table, we would like to thank everyone who attended.
The atmosphere was loud and energetic, with everyone having a great time. The live acts provided quality entertainment throughout the evening. The marquee was packed with people of all ages and the atmosphere was truly amazing.
The bar was a fundraiser for Sani Round Table, and we would like to thank everyone who donated their time to running the bar and making the evening a memorable one.
Huge thanks must go to The Duck, Canyon Canoe club, and last but not least all the Table Legs and Tablers who donated their time and effort to make the event a huge success. This was a fantastic event and we are looking forward to next year's Drak Challenge.

PEVENSEY TO THE BEACH 2023
On Friday 27 January, Thirty Seven eager Pevensey resident and five members of Pevensey staff, together with some NSCA and Sani Round Tabler’s and their families embarked on a journey to Winkelspruit to re-ignite the annual Pevensey to The Beach Trip. This was always a calendar favourite and 2023 proved to be no different.
We arrived on Friday to a sweltering heat wave, so promptly unpacked the buses, found our dorms and headed down to Toti Main Beach. Even the high tide shore break didn’t show any resistance to us all wanting to get in the water, and after a very entertaining session of human tenpin bowling in the shore break we headed back to camp for a braai and disco.
The tide was a lot lower on Saturday morning and we ended up having the best beach session ever recorded in Pevensey’s history. We were joined by someother Round Tablers from our region and really had an enjoyable time at the beach. Ice creams and Lunch followed back at camp, followed by a pamper sessi on for some of the ladies put on by the Sani Legs; and a good old game of garden cricket for the rest of us!
Romans’ Pizzas for dinner; kindly sponsored by Underberg Dairies, Kloof and Margate Round Table’s, really topped off an amazing day.

Sani Round Table pulled out their acting skills on Saturday night and put on a classic play – a remake of snow white, some dwarfs, a few pigs and red riding hood. Everyone was rather exhausted after this, and after some tea and biscuits, we all went off to bed. We packed up early on Sunday and made the trip back to Underberg, reminiscing on what was an incredible weekend for everyone.

On the 22nd of November the guys from Welkom 40 and Stilfontein 53 decided to raid our last business meeting of 2022.
The Stilfontein 53 guys as per usual complained about the brandy prices but did not bring any money….(Stephan Lucas – just to drop names)
As the meeting progressed and the brandy flowing, the Welkom 40 tabler eventually found their way to the clubhouse, with table brandy in hand, they received their sergeant straffies for being on table time.
Reinhardt was our sergeant for the night and he had his knifes out for all of us with his kak sergeant drinks that had most of us gaging and scrambling for something to wash it down with…. hence the brandy was flowing. As the meeting went on, Welkom 40 had some good stories to tell about the success of their project that we as a newish table can adopt into our yearly plan.
Stilfontein said somethings……by this time I was trying not to DIE due to the straffies…..
This was Reinhardt’s last meeting as a STNOFS tabler, and emotions ran high, we wished Hoppies good luck and he will always be a STNOFS tabler. This was not a goodbye but a see you again. We knew this was a good meeting, because when we returned in Jan 23 we found wors lying on the bar counter, and the funny thing is we didn’t even braai wors….
This is all I could remember.

BUS DUTY CHRISTMAS DINNER
On Wednesday the 7th of December, RT47 hosted a Christmas dinner for the elderly who makes use of our bus service once a month. The day started with a gloomy rain and clouds all over the place making the atmosphere very sombre and unpleasant for braai. We did however pull of a reverse rain dance and clear skies approached Potch by early afternoon.
The present were wrapped and placed under the tree, the braai was making its first flames and the champagne were kept cold as the bus went through the town. As these things tend to happen… we were greeted with an additional 10 members to join us for a feast and fellowship and good grace. Around the table we sat and handed out gifts with them telling us how long they have been part of Round Table’s bus duty. One lady reaches back to 20 years using the bus duty project! Incredible to see how we can make someone’s life easier without knowing it.
The food was proper and amazing, consisting of sosaties, wors, rolls, watermelon, and salads. When everyone finished and was settled again, the bus started once more for part two of the evening. We headed to the Abraham Kriel orphanage for their annual light’s festival which is fantastic and breath-taking. Smiles all around as the Ooms and Tannies enjoyed pannekoek, koeksusters and colas as they went for a stroll through countless lights.
It was a special day, and we were glad to be a part of it. Thanks to all the Potch 47 gents who pulled in and made it a success. Looking forward to another 20 years of a beautiful tradition!

I decided to put up my hand for this project in the beginning of 2022, as it was the first project I attended in my Table career. I was super pumped up and ready to tackle things head on!
With preparations going back to three months, and filtering through A LOT of responces, the big day approached on Friday the 16th of December. We started of early at the Potch 47 clubhouse to load everything on Mike’s bakkie and to load some GEES in the rest of the convoy. At 09h00 Table time we set off on our route to deliver 40 food parcels to households all over the Potchefstroom area.
The food parcels were loaded with varies non-priceable goods, toiletries, and sanitary wear along with vegetable bags. The impact that a parcel like this makes is astonishing to witness. It was heart-warming to be able to help others and receive gratefulness in return.
We were also able to supply 100 packs of sanitary products to the Promosa Secondary School girls, which we know will go a long way and be appreciated gracefully.
The final wish we had to make come through was also a very special moment. An old lady from the area wished for new dentures as her teeth slowly failed her and rotted away with the flesh. She lost almost 15kg in three months due to not being able to consume food. We managed to pull some strings and set her off to remove all the nasty bits and replace them with white shiny replacements. She is still recovering from her producers but can’t wait to smile at the world again.
Days like these make me glad to be part of Table and to give back to others in need. I want to thank all my comrades for joining the day and making it a success, I want to thank the legs of the table for joining and helping us in our escapades, and finally the kiddos who always tag along to shed some light and joy to all.

RT 45: NORTH-WEST SCHOOL OF DESIGN PROJEK
Wat ‘n interessante projek, veral as jy ‘n gewiggie het wat deel van jou menswees gevorm het oor die jare. Om mee te begin, Vrydag middag se samekoms was heel aangenaam om saam my mede tafelaars die projek se voorbereiding te doen. Ons het reeds daar al besef dit gaan een fantasmagoriese seksesvolle projek wees!
Ek geniet die genot van drank, of dalk soms helemal te veel maar, om drank uit te pak in verskeie yskaste is nie so genotsaam soos wat dit aan die anderkant van die bar lyk nie. Saterdag is waar alles amptelik af geskop het. Ons het om 14h00 bymekaar gekom net om vir 3 ure niks te doen nie en daarna heelwat BAIE gedoen…
Met die aankoms was die atmosfeer heel rustig en lekker, ons het sommer almal geweet hierdie gaan een vir die boeke wees tot my voete my herinner het aan my huidige gewig en tot wat dit in staat is. Ons het die mense bedien en al moet ek self so sê, “geen professionele kroeg person was so goed soos ons nie”. Later deur die loop van die aand het die modelle hulself kom lyf wys met hulle voksvreemde uitrustings en heupe wat weet hoe om ‘n man se kop te laat draai. Daar is wel van ons tafelaars kon hulle oë nie van die beeldskone dames af kon hou nie. Soos enige normale man kon hulle ook toe mos nou net op 1 ding fokus en vergeet totaal en al van die werk wat daar op hulle wag. Let wel toe werk die res van ons harder, waarvan my voete kan getuig. Ek moet se die poppe was beeldskoon – op ‘n stadium het ek gedink hou voete hou want hierdie “show” is beslis die moeite werd.
Die aand was ‘n sukses maar, van ons convener praat ons nie… of kom ons sê eerder sy deregensie vermoë is baie sterker as sy hulpvaardigheid eienskappe. Die gaste het ons agter die kroeg vreeslik baie geniet. Van dubble shots met coke tot shooters – ons was hulle nommer 1 stop vir vermaak.
Henro namens die feeskomitee wil ons jou net bedank dat jy al ons glase uit die plek se kombuis gaan uit haal het… nie gepraat van die geveg wat daarmee gepaard gegeaan het nie. Klein bottletjies groooot meoilikheid.
Jan-Alberts, man jy is net ‘n yster! Jou gasvryheid met ‘n lekker worsbroodjie en ‘n koue eenetjie om te drink, was vooorwaar ‘n hoogtepunt om die groot aand af te sluit, nie gepraat van die sports in die jacuzzi nie.
Na hierdie projek ken ek die reuk van pyn… dit was dramaties maar tog so bitter lekker en suksesvol! Ek het net weer eens besef dat ons ‘n GREAT span saam maak!

KLERKSDORP 45’S NEW YEARS FELLOWSHIP.
Waar begin mens, seker maar die dele wat mens onthou.
Ons het seker gemaak ons het fellowship en al die socials wat gehou was in 2022 weer sommer oorgehou in die laaste aand van die jaar. Jinne, ek dink paar van ons het nog creamsober en garage -pies geëet tot en met verlede Woensdag.
Ons is hartliks verwelkom by Jan Albert se huis en was dadelik koekies en kasies aangebied wat toevallig op die kroeg blad gestaan het. Ons het daarvan geneem en geëet en toe wegsteek plekke gesoek vir ons coolbags. Die gesêls het sommer vinning begin veral as jy sien iemand het dieselfde wegsteek plek vir hulle coolbags ingedagte gehad.
Die aand het toe verder nog opwindend geraak toe die vlamme begin brand het asook die rugby wat begin het, maar ons praat eder nie daaroor nie. Baie geluk Sharks, ‘n blinde hoender pik ook so nou en dan raak. Na die rugby het van ons by die bar weer mekaar gaan versellig, en nie rerig geweet moet ons iets vier of iets vergeet nie.
Die ambiaans en gelag het darem gesorg dat ou Hoppies en Zunne ook vrolik by ons kon aansluit nadat hulle die hele dag gepak het. Ons mis julle klaar.
Ons almal het vooraf besluit ons elkeen gaan net twee drankies drink vir die aand, “die eerste een en die laaste een”, wat intussen gebeur praat ons nie oor nie. Na die eerste een of so het die grappies begin vloei, ek dink van stilfontein se mense moes ook die grappie gehoor het by hulle huis en M-Cee het gesorg hulle hoor dit ook. Soveel passie en volume. Darem het hy net die vark en pitbull grappie eenkeer vertel.
Die kos was toe uiteindelik klaar en almal kon hulle mae volmaak. Ek moet sê die kosmakers mag maar, dankie dit was lekker.
Teen die tyd van die aand het almal se coolbags al uit hulle skuilings gekom, en die “Hopppppppppp, Hoppppp, Hop Sassas!” begin het. Ek weet ook nie was dit ‘n dare of wat nie, maar toe ons weer sien toe staan Jan Albert met sy onta bo sy vuurmaak plek, letterlik. Sommer gevoel of ons by stormvoël was. Wen-wen vir die dames.
En soos alles kom dit altyd tot ‘n einde soos die champagne wat Rhyno op ons uit gespuit het toe ons besig was met 10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1…

PAARL 44 INDUCTION DINNER
Paarl 44 het op 14 Januarie 2023 hul jaarlikse inhuldigings ete van die nuwe voorsitter gevier by die Kalahari Grill.
Ons nuwe voorsitter, Donovan Ackermann, is deur ons uittredende voorsitter, Stephen Van Niekerk ingehuldig.
Die aand was gevul met grappe, feesviering en kameraadskap onder mede tafelaars asook hul beter helftes.
Ons het verder ook die inhuldiging van ons nuwe raad gemerk, wat saam met ons nuwe voorsitter gaan werk om te verseker dat ons die doel van Tafelronde na streef.
Soos ons uitsien na die nuwe jaar, is ons gretig om voort te gaan met ons missie van dienste aan die gemeenskap lewer en om saam vorentoe te beweeg, verenig in ons vebintenis om ‘n positiewe impak asook verskil te maak.
