It’s that time of the year where we take the opportunity to reflect on the year that was. It’s hard to believe that 2022 is already coming to a close. It’s true what they say “time flies when you’re having fun” and fortunately us as Tablers , are passionate about what we do and what we can achieve with hard work. We are constantly innovating; finding ways to improve our communities.
This year saw RTSA achieve numerous, monumental milestones in our communities also saw a big increase in our mental health efforts to be there for each other and most importantly “Don’t Camo yourself”
As well as increasing our regional presence in AMI region with over 15 tablers from ARTSA attending AMI AGM in Mauritius, to having 2 RTSA tablers on the council for 22/23. , RTSA has further expanded its presence across the globe by starting to plan our World Meeting and the excitement is real we can’t wait for this magical event happening in 2023.
We are now just weeks out from 2023 and myself and the team are excited about everything the coming year has in store with more impactful change and Mr Louis Radley and his council.
Although our year only ends in April we can honestly say this year to date has been amazing.
On behalf of myself and all of the team on the Association council , I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Tablers, Legs, Families, 41’ers and partners for their continuous support and we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy 2023

MONEY OR THE BOX
On the 19th of November 2022 Round Table Pretoria 19 hosted its annual Money or the Box project at Irene Homes. Irene Homes is a non-profit organization that tends to needs of intellectually disabled ladies in and around the Centurion area.
We as Pretoria 19 (including a few members from Kameeldoring 92) rocked up with bags full of goodies, speakers loaded with dance music and bakke vol wors for the Wors rolletjies that we made for the ladies. The morning was filled with music, dancing, laughter and good times. The enthusiasm of the ladies was second to none and you could see them smiling from ear to ear. The morning ended on a good note with their tummies being filled with food, drinks, sweets and their feet and throats being sore from dancing and chanting.
This is always one of the main events on the calendar for Pretoria 19 and it always brings tears to our eyes to see how happy they are and how much they appreciate something simple as us just spending some quality time with them.
I would like to thank the Management of Irene homes for once again accommodating us and we look forward to next year.

KIRKWOOD 78 GEORGE 30
ANNUAL WEEKEND
Kirkwood 78 and George have had a long standing tradition going back 11 years where our tables come together for one weekend of fun and building “gees”. It is a tradition that few tables can say they have and for the Kirkwood 78 Tablers it is one very high up on our calendar.
This year is was George 30 turn to do some traveling, and after the drive and check in at their Guest house the Friday evening, we got together at our clubhouse for a Steak braai and “kuier” . Loadshedding tried to dampen our spirits, however we quickly found and new spot just down the road from the club house at our new member Estiaan’s house were we ended off the night in great fashion.
Saturday morning we were up early and took a short drive to Philip Tibshraeny family house on the Sundays River where we spent the day on the dunes and river having a splendid time. We grabbed a “quick” bite to eat at The Grunters Pub before heading back to Kirkwood. That evening after a long day in the sun, we all came together where Convenor Ryno Lombard treated us to Pork Ribs on the braai.
10
During this there were some formalities, like banner exchanges and speeches from the two chairmen. The traveling trophy was handed over to Kirkwood 78, signalling the request for us to return it to George in the coming year. Some of the Kirkwood Tablers were also inducted as Buffalo members which saw some fun and games between everyone ensuring in many stories to be told.
It was a great weekend had by all where old friendships were rekindled and new ones formed, and we cannot wait for 2023 when we travel to George for our visit to reclaim all of our raided items. Yours in Table

177 REPORT - SELF DEFENSE
"Port Alfred 177, along with the Rotary Club of Port Alfred, arranged a womens self defence course. Multi Security hosted this event on the 18th October where a few self defence moves were shown. Instructors shared their wealth of knowledge and gave valuable life-saving practical demonstrations with all who took part.
All funds generated from the evening went to Bessies Daycare - a local childrens daycare. A big thank you must go to Clinton Millard from Multi Security and David Branford from Resistance Fitness and Defence for their time and shared expertise."

ALEX/KENTON 210 CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
On Friday 4th November 2022, Round Table Alex Kenton 210 hosted the South African Police Service (SAPS), HiTec Security and Kenton Neighbourhood Watch for a braai at the 210 Clubhouse. This event was initiated at the request of Mr Ross Swartz. Mr Swartz is a member of the Neighbourhood Watch and a proud member of Kenton on Sea's civic society.
The goal of the event was to help social engagement (fellowship) between government, business and civic society. As was explained to Mr Swartz, Round Table is not in the business of politicking and/or the provision of public security. We are, however, in the business of creating meaningful relationships in our towns and communities.
When measured on 'the fellowship standard', the braai was a resounding success. The local police captain (Captain Tommy Parkinson) offered a brief talk on the state of policing in and around Kenton on Sea.
He also thanked all members of business and civic society for the manner in which they have undertaken to support the activities of the SAPS. He further expressed a desire to deepen these relationships and to make Kenton on Sea a safer place for all.
Round Table 210 Kenton on Sea remains committed to building and deepening the relationships we have all members of our immediate environment.

195 PIPELINER: MY TABLE
EXPERIENCE
Dear fellow Tables,
My name is Caeden Bartosch, I am 32 years old and live in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. I moved here just over a year ago, after meeting my partner. Being fairly new to PE I had been interested in broadening my network and making new friends. I also wanted to use my skills and experience in event management to get involved with projects that give back to the community.
I am a big wine and food lover and enjoy being social and entertaining friends. Morning walks on the beach with my partner and dogs is a mandatory routine for us and I also enjoy a bit of fishing and home DIY every now and then in my spare time. After reaching out to each of the Tables in PE, I attended my first meeting at Zwartkops 195 in June after being invited by the chairman, Carl. Since then, I have been able to get involved with many of their fundraising projects as well as make new friends. For me 195 is a fun table, we are serious about our goals and doing our part to give back to the community. The table is made up of a great group of gents who like to get the job done, without ever forgetting to have a good time along the way.
Since joining the guys at Zwartkops 195, I have been able to develop some good friendships and I look forward to being part of an organisation that shows respect, humility, and support to their fellow Tablers as well as their community.
I look forward to getting more involved and meeting other members. Yours in Table

FISH AND CHIPS WITH LIONS
On the 3rd of December 177 hosted a combined fish and chips evening with Port Alfred Lions. A total of 115 tickets were sold even with plenty of different events in and around Port Alfred at the same time.
It’s always a pleasure and fees to run a joint venture with our local service organizations.
Meeting new friends ,socializing with locals, 41ers and local businesses is a big part of how 187 gets to do what they do for our community.
Big thank you to everyone who attended to make our event a big success.
PORT ALFRED CHRISTMAS PARTY
On the 3rd of December Port Alfred 177 had their yearly Christmas party in Kleinemonde, The Lily Rose new coffee shop and pad stall. It was fully attended by our members having a very social Christmas brunch and an appearance from yours truly as Santa had all the kiddies very excited.
Was a lovely morning spend reflecting on our past year and making new plans for the future. A massive thank you to 177 and their ladies for everything that we have achieved in the past year

Round Table Alex/Kenton210 participated in the National Male Health Awareness month.
In previous editions focus was placed on Cancer in particular with the MOvember initiatives, this year we looked to partner with South Africa’s Men’s Foundation, who take a proactive step in focusing on Male Health as a general, including both physical and mental. We adopted and adapted the “go-commando” campaign previously initiated by the Men’s Foundation to create a bridge between the old and new initiatives. Arise the “GROWvember” campaign.
Round Table Alex/Kenton210 showed support by growing moustaches during the whole month of November but also changed it up a little by selling over-priced, yet very fashionable fake moustaches to members of the public at a R100 per moustache. We were privileged to be able to show our support to those battling various kinds of health challenges while our “ships” sail on relative calm waters.
By selling fake Moustaches, we were able to open the awareness campaigns to our female counter parts in our community who, participated by purchasing and wearing pink moustaches during the month.
Funds raised will go to furthering the aims and objectives of the Men’s Foundation and we look to continue building the network of support to the men of South Africa through the Don’t Camo Yourself initiative and campaigns like “GROW”vember.
We thank those who participated, and we look forward to bringing #impactfulchange . YIT Jacques van Wyk

PE WEST 142 SOCIAL
On the 13th of August 2022 PE West 142 embarked on a welldeserved social at ACVV Marine drive near Shoenmakerskop. The day was most beautiful with smiles arriving and fellowship started among the men and their spouses, all children were welcome with big open play areas and a joyful day ahead. The highlight of the day was the oh so mighty potjies.
Ruhan van der Westhuizen prepared a Skaap nek and Schalk Rossouw did a pasta pot. Both these dishes were well prepared, but the problem was not making it, it was that we only realised that we should start making food at about 22:00. We sat around the campfire exchanging stories and had a most wonderful experience We watched the sun come up and in all its glory had an amazing evening until we ran out of ice wood and almost every person lost their keys
I just want to thank every person that joined the social for the fellowship aspect there off Mr Paul Ferreira from Algoa 108 and your wife Juanita. To table you need to understand that that there are 2 veins feeding you heart Fellowship and Charity and that’s what we are all about

ADELAIDE 194 VLAKVARK 500
The weekend of the, 28th – 29th October 2022 Visit I finally got the opportunity, attend the Adelaide 194 Vlakvark 500 project as EP Area Chairman, and it exceeded my expectations. The project is high in demand for Hunters across the country.
As there is limited space the public gets preference and tablers seldomly get the opportunity to attend and therefore is was very privilege to get the chance
To Adelaide 194, well done on how you manage and organise this event and the success you achieve! Words cannot really describe it, one has to experience it for yourself!
It was a weekend that saw many valkvark being shot, besides the camaraderie and fellowship was great throughout the entire weekend. Thank you to RT Adelaide 194 allowing me the opportunity to attend and to open the event the Friday evening, a real honour and privileged.

ALGOA 108 GOLF DAY
Algoa 108 took the opportunity to host its 4th annual golf day at the Awesome Wedgewood golf estate just outside Port Elizabeth.
It turned out a success as everyone that participated enjoyed themselves and showed support in raising Funds for our Beneficiary Twinkle Twinkle Childrens home.
The day started with near perfect weather conditions, a first for us, because of previous years rain and Gail force winds, thanks to everyone that did a weather dance for us, we really appreciate
The players were spoiled with refreshments during the day, we had manned golf carts patrolling the course for individuals that did not have something cold with them to cool down.
The day ended with a Great price giving and raffle giveaway for the lucky ones, some gentleman entered our closest to pin challenge that opened up a new competitive side of man kind, but it all was good fun at the end of the day.
A Big Thanks to our fellow tables from Kirkwood 78 and PE West 142 for entering each 2 x 4balls, we appreciate the support from our fellow tables and will return the support to you next year.
Lastly to all the players, Businesses and individuals that contributed, supported, or Donated to this wonderful day, without you this would not have been possible, We Thank you and See you all next year.

Algoa 108 Golfday Convenor
Our 2nd and last Pint for a Pint blood donation day took place on the 2nd of December at the Kirkwood Golf Club with our nationwide partner SANBS and one of our loyal sponsors, Dagbreek Tops, whom sponsored the alcoholic beverages for the public who came to donate blood.
Donating blood is one of the greatest gifts you can give without it costing a cent. It is an Area supported initiative to assist the SANBS to attract more people to donate livesaving blood and to reach their target of 3500 unit’s everyday nationally. By hosting #PintforaPint we hope to attract more people who would like to donate blood by rewarding them for their “hard” work, and what better way than to receive a nice cold beer after donating a pint of blood. With this occasion, we wanted to close off the year on a high note, and set out the target of reaching 60 units of blood on the day.
At 17h55 the tally was 59 units, and hoping for the last unit to reach our target for the day and at long last the last person arrived to donate allowing us to reach our target, much to the delight of SANBS, as this was the most we have ever collected during a Pint for a Pint. As always there were also a few fires burning, to create a little social event for Tablers and 41’ers alike to mingle after donating blood and build #gees. We value our continued partnership with SANBS and look forward to 2023 where we will build on the 60 units and reach new heights.

STORY OF A PIPELINER – AM SWART
A.M. Swart officially joined Kirkwood Round Table at our last meeting on the 5th of December after being a pipeliner for the last 3months learning what being a Tabler is all about, however A.M. is no stranger to Round Table with his father-in-law being a Tabler at Parys 88 who was very much in favour of AM joining Round Table. A.M. is originally from Patensie and moved to Kirkwood when he was 12 years old. He attended Hoër Tegniese Skool Daniel Pienaar in Uitenhage, from there he went on study to become a Diesel Motor Mechanic. He joined Sun Valley Transport in 2009 where he met KWD78 41’er, Kenny Thatcher, and under his leadership A.M. qualified in 2013. He regards Kenny as his mentor for various reasons, mainly for his involvement in the community of Kirkwood through his business and being a member of Round Table. This is where A.M. learnt firsthand what being a Tabler is all about as he could see the difference that Round Table makes in the local community.
In 2006 A.M. met his wife Danielle in Jeffrey’s Bay through a friend, where they dated on and off, as Danielle was completing her studies at Pukke. Since 2009 they haven’t left each other’s side and tied the knot on the 23rd of September 2017. During Covid in 2020 they welcomed their son Zak on the 23rd of October. When A.M. was approached to join Table, he saw it as an honour to join such an esteemed organization, whereby like minded men come together to make a difference in the lives of other and their community. A.M. realised that during one’s life you need to build relationships and networks whereby you can reach out, provide assistance and receive advice by which Round Table creates a great foundation. During his time as pipeliner he mentions that he got to know the Tablers and made him and his family feel right at home and looks forward to proving his worth as a Tabler.

CHRISTMAS BOXES OF JOY
With the festive season fast approaching, there is always a need to make it special to those less fortunate whom are not in a position to celebrate Christmas.
Kirkwood Round Tabler, Wynand Killian and his wife Let-Mari, collected shoeboxes and made up Boxes of Joy with the help of other Tablers and their wives. A total of 42 boxes where made up and distributed to kids at the Sitrusrand Creche which is made up of kids in the immediate area aged between 3 – 5 years of age, mostly from parents whom are previously disadvantaged.
Each of the Boxes of Joy consisted of toiletries, school stationary, colouring books and crayons, an age appropriate reading book, sweetie packet for the sugar rush and an outfit for Christmas day. The scholars where on their best behaviour on the day, and their faces beamed with joy when they received their Boxes of Joy. We look forward to next year to collect even more Boxes of Joy and make the festive season joyous for even more kids.

KWD 78 CHRISTMAS PARTY AND YEAR REVIEW
After a long and eventful year, KWD78 gathered together for our last social event for the year, our annual Christmas party on the 27th of November. It was held at Jaco & Julia van Biljon’s home on the farm in Addo.
It was a wonderful day spent together reminiscing of the year gone by, and spending time together before everyone travels for the festive season all while enjoying delicious platters prepared by the wives. A yearly tradition for KWD78 is the Secret Santa gift exchange which always ensures for laughter as gifts are traded to the dismay of some and the delight of others, as well as Santa visiting to hand out gifts to the kids.
2022 was indeed an eventful year for Kirkwood Round Table, which saw many successful projects and the return of our biggest project, the Kirkwood Wildsfees, as well as gaining 5 new Tablers during the year, taking our membership to 16 in total.
Some of the standouts for the year were, Annual Golf Day, Sitrus Afskop, 60th Celebration & Induction Dinner, Winter Knights, Wildsfees, Business Meeting with RTSA President KWD78 George30 weekend and Pint for a Pint.
We cannot wait for what 2023 has in store for us, and we wish everyone a splendid festive season with friends and family.

VALLEIHOF BRAAI
An annual event on our calendar is the Valleihof Braai. This year was no different, and on a blisteringly hot day we got together to braai and serve dinner to the elderly community members at ACVV Kirkwood Valleihof.
The men were in charge of the fires and braai duties, and on the menu was chicken kebabs and boerewors, while the ladies ensured the tables were decorated and the plates of mouth watering food was served to each and every resident.
It is our honour to serve and treat them, as some older Tablers and parents of current Tablers currently reside there. It’s always good giving back to the community and such a good feeling when you see the joy on their faces by just the small things you do for them.
The residents had a lovely evening and were very grateful for us visiting them.

WELKOM 40 SUPPORTS THE SANBS
On 9 August 2022, Round Table Welkom 40 supported the South African National Blood Service in Welkom. The Tablers were up early and helped to set up a braai for them.
The idea was that every person that donated blood, would get a boerewors roll.
The blood bank in Welkom has worked very effectively with Welkom 40 over the last few years and we have provided venues and support for the blood bank where we could.
This is also an alliance project for us. The day was a massive success and the blood bank managed to accumulate 31 units of blood on the day.
We would like to thank all the members of Welkom 40 that gave up their holiday to help out on this project.
Welkom 40 would like to thank the SANBS Welkom staff for their friendliness and their hard work that they are doing in the Welkom community.
It is a critical service, and one never knows when you might need a pint of blood or two.

SUPPORTS MERAFONG
CHILREN’S HOME
The Sparta Butchery had a birthday bash in Welkom. Crown National came through as a spice sponsor and boerewors rolls was made to sell on the day.
At the end of the day, some boerewors rolls remained unsold and instead of throwing it away, Helette Zietsman from Sparta approached our Chairman to find a place to distribute it to.
Ever keen Stephan managed to get a hold of new Tabler, Cornel Labuschagne and picked up the extra boerie rolls from Sparta.
Welkom 40 managed to give 50 boerewors rolls to Mrafong Children’s home in Welkom. We are sure that it has made the Saturday for children who very rarely have the opportunity and privilege such as this.
Welkom 40 would like to congratulate Merafong Children’s Home for their support to orphans in the Goldfields and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours. We would also like to thank you Stephan Theunissen and Cornel Labuschagne for sacrificing their time on the day.

COMMUNITY CENTRE NEEDS
THAT LAST PUSH
When we started our journey 4 years ago we never thought that we would be so close to finally having the only Round Table Community Centre almost back on its feet and having no debt. We are so close to save our Round Table Community Centre. We only short R90 000 then the R700 000+ municipal account will be paid off and we can start the process of long overdue maintenance tot he building.
The 8 charities housed in our Community Centre, they serve 60 000 people annually in the greater Goldfields area. Among our charities are Child Welfare, Free State Mental Health, FAMSA, Lifeline Society of the Blind, National Council of the Blind and The Power of One. All doing vital work in the community. Work that some of them would not be able to do if it were not for affordable offices. We are asking for donations towards saving our Community Centre. It's easy to see the number 60 000. It looks impressive. But somehow people always seem to be more open to giving to a single cause or person. It's more identifiable, more relatable. I'm here to tell you that those 60 000 have the same faces. I've seen them. They look like you and me. So, with all the sincerity in the world I can muster, think about the last 3 people you helped in the last year. Just those three.
Please help us save the Community Centre. Each donation of R500 plus will get a logo on our glass wall in the entrance of the Community Centre.

RAIDED BY THE WOLFPACK
It’s no secret that the Wolfpack of Northridge are the most social guys around. They have gotten their Gauteng passport stamped and have managed to attend a crazy amount of business meetings - making them official raids too.
After successfully hosting an area meeting, we had our first international guest for the year, all the way from Seychelles. Ramadz Vielle joined the official world pack in a social event filled with laughs and of course the infamous Howler.
We were gifted with pins and banners from our fellow tabler and shared stories of various table events and the famous Regatta event that Seychelles hosts. What a festival of fun that looks like!
We encourage everyone in Table to get in touch with travelling talers and host them. It’s an easy way to adopt, adapt and improve.
It’s great to explore the fellowship within table and see the massive impact we are making within our communities. The fellowship is an integral part of creating a sustainable future within Table to ensure the legacy continues.
Raids are a great way to introduce new guests to the ways of the best gentlemen’s club in the world.
Our clubhouse is getting filled with all the raided regalia, so if you’re around reach out to us.
The Wolf pack awaits. Awooooo #Howling YIT Donovan Farinha

ONE RAND PROJECT
On Saturday the 29TH of October we had a R1 project to support the brave foundation. The Brave foundation have 15 Families they support in and surrounding our area and they reached out to Round Table Boksburg 17 for assistance. We decided that we will do a drive to collect non-perishable food items.
Round Table Edenvale 63 lend us their helping hands on the day to hand out flyers to the public with the cause printed on them as well as a R1 attached to go toward a purchase of the items listed.
We chose Karaglen Spar in Edenvale for this project and we set up our branding. Round Table Boksburg17, Round table Edenvale63 and the ladies from the Brave foundation working together on the day managed to collect items to the value of R10210.13, Four Trolleys Full!!
The Spar was more than willing to let us scan all the items to tally up the total as the project in turn generated more sales for them. This Project also creates a platform which allows the general public to give towards a charitable cause and this makes them feel a part of something bigger. A lot of times the general public do not know how to get involved or how to give back or how to pay it forward and this kind of project allows them to do exactly that. Awareness was created within our community with the Rondel flying high. We ended the project by enjoying a couple of cold ones together. Thank you to all who participated and to those who donated.

SPITBRAAI
BOKSBURG 17 SPITTING LAMB AT POTCH KUIER FEST 2022.
Our project was planned and we hit the road early in the AM’s on Saturday morning the 5th of November. We were ready to take on the Potch kuier fest and sell pulled lamb buns. We had two lambs to spit… MacGyver style!!
We pitched up our area Branding and Gazebo on our allocated spot just after 7am and we lit the fire.
We initially tried one strategy by suspending the lamb over two braai’s graciously loaned to us by Round Table potch 47.
This technique proved unsuccessful as we had difficulty turning the Lamb which cost us quite some time. We then took our 4 scaffolding frames and created a box frame on which we could rest the lamb and make the fire below it.
Taking our latest Guest Kevin Nhlapo on a journey to STNOF’s along with Franco Putter from Round table Edenvale 63 and Wez De kock from Jukskei 217. Each bringing their impactful input to the Project. Wez de Kock who is a qualified chef brought the infamous Jukskei 217 basting sauce to baste the lamb with, this was the secret ingredient and you can ask anyone who was there how delicious this was. We sold over 40 Kilograms of lamb that day, mostly “Pulled” onto buns but the ribs were the craze of the day.
35 BOKSBURG
17 LAMB
The main event of the day was the rugby, obviously, as the Boks were playing against Ireland. The Band Saarkie provided us with some awesome live entertainment and music along with Freckled Elvis and a few local Potch bands. But the highlight for us was the Round table gees with the STNOF’S gents, even though the work was hard it was worth it. Especially for the younger tablers and Pipeliner that came with and experienced some out of area Tabling.
The Potch 47 Gents were very supportive throughout the day and we would like to thank them for the Braais and also the Gees. Jacques “Silver Fox” Legend Tabler supplied us with the best fire word we can ask for. Thank you Jacques!! Our sales Table was set-up right Next to Cartonville 50 “Cartoonville” as they drew all the attention with their “Get your Preggo’s” chant which helped us get business as well. As expected Jason “The donkey” Scott was the loudest person there.
After a successful day of hard work and fellowship at Kuierfest, we eventually packed up at 12am and we were back off to Gauteng. All in all we definitely learnt a lot, Kuiered a lot, and just had a blast.
Thank you Potch 47 for organizing this awesome event and for having us! Untill the next one. Cheers!!

BMG EXPERIENCE FOR PIPELINER
BMG 2022 took place at an amazing Holiday resort in Nylstroom by the name of
“Weesgerus”, what an amazing venue and time this turned out to be…
Northridge 117 including myself the new Pipeliner at NRT 117 attended this amazing event. People came from all over, some if not most did not really know each other at all at first but what was very clear is that everyone was immediately friends here. It was the strangest thing, people who never even met were immediately as close as brothers and would help each other with probably anything by looks of things. The feeling in the air was like something we never feel anymore, the feeling of calm and bliss, the feeling and sense of “belong”. It was mostly strangers all over the place for me still being a Pipeliner but yet I felt like I’ve known most of these folks for years and like I could work and get along with any single one of them at any point.
I got to know and became friends with more folks from Round Table than I can count at BMG which led me to grave for even more… I couldn’t help but find myself wondering “If BMG is this great, what must ARTSA be like?”. I for one will never miss a BMG event with my fellow brothers going forward and I’ll be sure to attend ARTSA if BMG was this amazing.
37
From start till the end it was all good and fun. I decided go camping at Weesgerus instead of booking a chalet and very quickly realized that I didn’t even have to lock anything, I could just leave my stuff wide open which was a very weird and new experience. The food was absolutely divine, the stuff I can only imagine kings would normally be eating. I also didn’t even have to worry about my wife or my kids, there was something to do for everyone.
The venue has so much to offer, me and my loved ones always had something to do. During social gatherings at night is when things especially got fun, there was no need for me to even to watch my kids. The whole environment and place were completely safe with fellow tablers all over the place keeping an eye on the kids. They could all play and enjoy themselves safely and all the adults could relax and socialize without having to worry about a thing…. Sounds like the stuff we can only imagine and yet it was all real. Joining Table and Joining the Wolfpack at Northridge 177 was probably one of the best things I did which I can only wish I did sooner in life…

SPUR’S 55TH BIRTHDAY WITH SANDOWN 150
Spur recently celebrated their 55th Birthday, and how they celebrate their birthday every year is by inviting 20-30 kids from a charity or orphanage home to have a free meal and a drink at one of their restaurants. Golden Spear Spur Cresta then made contact with Round Table Sandown 150 in order to host a charity and celebrate the day with the community.
The Charity that was selected was One Small Act of Kindness (OSAOK). After our discussion with Spur, we immediately made contact with Kelly from OSAOK to find out if they would be interested and if it was something they would be able to do, being a busy organisation.
After discussions with Golden Spear Spur Cresta, we were not only able to help with 30 meals, but at the end of a 3 day event, we were able to do over 85 meals to the value of R24 000,00.
Nicholas from spur has been an absolute legend in arranging and running this, giving back to the community is a big part of his drive and we all would like to thank Nicholas Michaelides and Golden Spear Spur Cresta for their willingness and efforts.
Seeing all those little kids being able to choose their own meals and Milkshakes, getting their faces painted, playing in the playing area, running around with their Spur masks on and just seeing how excited and happy they were made us all feel so happy and warm inside.

OSAOK has a charity school where they develop young minds from all ages. They have a foster care home with babies, older kids, and even teenagers. They have daily feeding schemes that happen every day at 9AM and 4PM where they have the regulars and the new coming and grabbing a free meal from all over.
On top of all the work they do, they still manage to help smaller charities with whatever they can, from lending a helping hand, to helping with a meal where they can. They also have this great initiative where they don’t give away donations that have been made to them, but they rather give bags of hope to the unemployed on the street. These bags will have clothes in them, and the people will go out and sell them to make money in order to buy food and cover their daily needs. This creates an environment where people learn to trade and earn money for themselves in order to look after their families.
OSAOK also helps members in the community that are struggling with drug addiction. They take them in, get them cleaned up and sober, and help them to either go to a rehab to get rid of the addiction, or just by providing that little bit of support to start fresh on a different path.
The team working at OSAOK are a small family of hero’s that do so much for the community out there! Big thanks to OSAOK and Golden Spear Spur Cresta!

WILSON PROJECT
We at SWK 145 are very passionate about caring for our elders. We therefore set out to put a smile (Literally)on the faces of the residents of the local state-run Welwitschia Old Age Home.
This project is aimed at assisting the elderly with their dental problems. We transported them to Dr Stephan van der Merwe’s practice, he is generously donating his facilities and time to assist us.
He did a full check up of each eager patient, we made a list of what is needed and got an estimate of how much we will need to address each persons problems. Now the fund-raising starts!
We would appreciate any assistance from the association to help us realise these dreams. Our 1st fund raiser will be our Annual Mini Golf Day to be held on the 4th of November.
We hope to be able to send the 1st few oomies and anties to get their teeth fixed and enjoy a ‘Wilson” again!

MARATHON 2022
World Mental health was celebrated on the 10th of October 2022. Welwitschia 213 hosted a Mental Health Awareness Marathon on the 15th of October 2022. Mental Health as we all know is a tricky issue with some people not believing it to be an issue at all. Wewitschia 213 since May 2022 have searched for partners to host the project born from ideas discussed in 2021.
We partnered with Uni-Health as our Mental health Experts. Uni-Health is a 100% Namibian female owned company founded in 2020 that provides decentralized Mental Health services via the Lynx HCF (EMRS) to clients across Namibia. Uni-Health is passionate about academic development and works in collaboration with the Unicorn foundation.Uni-Health is also a registered HPCNA training facility for Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology and Psychological Counsellor Interns.
Welwitschia 213 also partnered with Virgin Active who provided the equipment we needed and expertise on the training circuit for the stationary marathon. With some late nights of planning we were ready with an actionable plan and started promoting and approaching companies to participate in the event. With the marathon being so late in the year most companies where not able to join.
We managed to get Old Mutual Namibia, MultiChoice Namibia, The Namibian Rugby Union and Avani Windhoek Hotel and Casino to participate and register 4-man and 2man teams for the event. Let me not bore you with the details on planning and the disappointments we had to go through, needless to say Wel213 persevered.
Thanks to Future Media who allowed us through Uni-Health to talk about Mental Health and its consequences in so doing creating awareness on the topic as well as the event. The message was broadcasted on each of the 4 radio stations under Future Media umbrella. Wel213 held an info session for the event on the 12th of October 2022 for the participants to share all needed info on the event and what would be required from participants.

MHA
WEL213’S
It was an early morning for the 213 gents as we came together from 06h30 to set up the exhibition spot in Maerua Mall in front of Mr. Price. Setup was done quickly with the help of our marshals and Virgin Active and teams where arriving.
Warmups where done and final briefing for all participants and marshals for the day. The Marathon kicked off at 09h00 with the 4-man teams. Old Mutual, Avani, MultiChoice and NRU where the line up for the 4-man team. The marathon consisted of for disciplines being: 1. Cycling 2. Squats 3. Burpees 4. Plank.
While these team where doing their circuits Wel213 and Uni-Health engaged the public on mental health creating awareness as best we could. Also providing fliers with information on who to call and what to do when dealing with a mental health issue. Exposing the public to the reality of Mental Health and its consequences and how simple things like balancing your lifestyle can help prevent and at times overcome mental health issues.
The 4-man team made it through their hour of competing and man where they tiered and that included the NRU players. With 30 min interval it was time for the 2-man team and the line-up consisted of Avani, MultiChoice, Uni-Health and Wel213. Wel213 and Uni-Health registered a 2-man team to join the 2 companies in the 30min competition. Namibia Area Chairman Byron Westerdale was roped into the team with Xavier Strauss from Wel213. It was a tough competition even though only Avani or MultiChoice could take the title as the Area Chairman did his best to perform at peak but the burpees had him struggling as his length didn’t do him any favours.
The 2-Man category came to an end and it was time for our intendent Reviewer to tally the scores for the competition while participants had a well-deserved rest.
Winners of the 4-man team: Namibian Rugby Union with a solid 200 points clear from the competition runners up Old Mutual.
48
Winners of the 2-man team: Avani Windhoek Hotel and Casino with a margin of 120 points over competition.
Well-deserved winners of their respective categories
Thanks to Avani for sponsoring 2 gift vouchers that was won by AJ from Team Old Mutual for completing the greatest number of Burpees for the entire competition and Mickey from MultiChoice chosen by Avani as being the MDP (Most Determined Player) for the competition.
Thanks to Novel Ford Namibia’s sponsorship and Old Mutual we were able to ensure that all participants received a participatory gift.
Welwitshia 213 would like to again thank all
The project is not complete as the money raised after the budget is reconciled will be used to facilitate the 2nd part of the project which entails Wel213 and Uni-Health facilitating Basic skills training for teachers in schools to help them identify mental health issues and help them deal with it. Wel213 and Uni-Health aims to educate the youth of today to create better future leaders who understand the importance of mental health and dealing with these issues in the right way. But more on that in the next report.

JOYFUL HEARTS 2022 –
A PROLOGUE
What is the best time of year? For many it is Christmas where we gather with family and friends, most of us on vacation, and enjoy the good life. We are blessed in the truest sense of the word, but not everybody is as favoured as we are.
During the entire month of November Round Table 34, Windhoek is hosting their third consecutive annual Joyful Hearts project to bring Christmas cheer to children that never get to experience this holiday the way we do.
Launched in 2020 by Riaan Stadler, he remains the convenor of this successful project to this day.
A large Christmas tree will be in Maerua Mall in Windhoek and shall be decorated with name tags that bear the names of predetermined beneficiaries, children that are a part of charity organisations we identified.
Members of the public may take as many name tags as they wish which bears the first name of the child, age, and gender so that the donor can purchase the gifts accordingly. We encourage that an item of clothing, educational stationery and, since it is Christmas, some candy is included to bring some cheer to the children who otherwise would not have any Christmas at all.
We are hopeful that we can count on Namibians again this year to support this fantastic project which we wish to grow even bigger in 2022. So far, we have a lot of corporate sponsors’ involvement and we are more than grateful to have these partners on board without whom this project would not get off of the ground.
May each and every child whose name is on the tree experience the magic of Christmas this year and fill their hearts with joy.

ROUND TABLE RALLY 2022
The Round Table Rally kicked off at the clubhouse. Everyone followed Leigh to the River Plots turn off. We had a short driver’s briefing where everyone was handed their roadbooks. Everyone zero’ed their ODO’s and drove off in 2-minute intervals.
At the music video spot, Ian stopped at the musical rock instead of the musical rocks. And then the wrong types of musical videos were shot.
Then we left the rocks again in 2-minute intervals. Ian drove off first, taking a left at 0.8km instead of a right. When we arrived at the lunch spot we couldn’t find Ian, and he had the braai with him. He arrived eventually. Boerie rolls were served for lunch.
After lunch, off to the 4x4 spots. Byron and Ian tried their best but missed the turn offs. They figured out their mistake and doubled back to find Leigh waiting at the 4x4 playground. Donuts were done, hills were climbed, girls screamed. Then we had to take creative selfies at the ruins. Many pics were taken as Tami believes she’s a famous photographer.
Eventually, after a very long and harsh 23km, we made it to the finish line. Fines were delt, braai was had, and everyone reflected on the day. Byron, Jo-Marie, Tami, and Ian still don’t know where the crooked tree was. The winner of the 2022 Round Table Rally is Ian Pienaar. With Byron, Jo-Marie, Tami, and Nikki coming in at a close 2nd place. He will collect his trophy at the next induction dinner.

We would like to thank him for his given time, knowledge, and advice to all the member, 41ér and legs.

Next year 2023 I think the team will definitely be a winning team since we had a lot of training and played this year against to the advance teams of the Bowls Social.
Then most importantly thank you to all that have made the time and effort to be part of this wonderful event.
Byron next year we hope to not hear that the wind pushed your “Bowls” to far away from the Jack and hopefully the lawn will be also less of an obstruction for you to do better.

AND ME
Wally 3 and me, have re-united again on which I have taken the opportunity to visit Mr Wally (Waldo) which was doing his holiday Job (“hout kappertjie”).
This took play on the day of our previous meeting, this is why my report couldn’t be completed for that meeting due to that my tipper was out of order, however I took my punishment like a man from the Sargent and was informed that the event was wrongly done…..
So, I thought I have done wrong, on which I went to set my wrongs right by fetching Wally 3 and Mr Wally to transport them for a proper meet and great with branch and drinks to the newest friend member for Wally 3.

GEORGE 30 - CARPE DIEM
GIVING BACK
George 30 had the honour to revisit our friends at Carpe Diem School for children with disabilities in George recently, to present them with much needed funds that was raised at our Gin Tasting evening.
As always, it is truly humbling to see the work these wonderful teachers do and the difference they make in the lives of their learners.
On the day, we presented them with a cheque for R10 000.00 to use for various designated projects.
GEORGE 30 - RLR PENSIONERS BRAAI
Every year in George, the service clubs combine to host the annual Pensioners Braai for residents of the RLR Pensioners home.
This is a combined service clubs initiative that sees us all get together to prepare a nice “Braai” for the pensioners and thoroughly entertain them with Sing Alongs and the likes. This year, George 30 took charge of the braai portion of the day, as we always do.
This day truly does put life in perspective as we as young men, can see the joy something as small and insignificant as a “Braai” and having fun, can put back into the lives of the generations that came before us and to whom we owe our very existence.
On the day, we provided stacked plates of scrumptious food to more than 70 pensioners.
We look forward to this day each year and will see you all again soon.

TEEING OFF IN PARADISE!
On Friday, the 7th of October, Round Table Mossel Bay 32 hosted its annual Golf Day at award-winning Pinnacle Point Estate. The world-renowned Estate, seemingly showing off with fantastic weather, provided a magnificent setting for our players to enjoy. As is customary, our Members used the opportunity to build bonds & to spread the word that is Round Table.
Congratulations to all our winners, well played! The popular event drew an array of sponsors that played a pivotal role in making this memorable day a great success.Thank you to everyone who attended the Round Table Mosselbay 32 Golf Day. George 30 had the honour of again attending The Annual Remembrance Day Parade held at the MOTH club in George.
What makes this day extra special is the attendance of Veterans, Combined Service Clubs of George, Various Schools and Youth Organisations.
Every year we lay a token om remembrance to the fallen at the Memorial wall.
This year was extra special as we used a unique George Round Table 30 wreath that will surely be in use for many years to come. “Lest we forget…”

DUTCH DONATION
Words cannot express our gratitude towards our Brothers from Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, in The Netherlands. A group of "Past Tablers" from our fellow Table/Club number in The Netherlands, affectionately known as the Big 5 throughout the years, approached us to request project proposals & a presentation for possible financial support from abroad.
Having a local community with many less fortunate dependents, we grabbed this unique opportunity to showcase how and where we can make a real difference.
With the invaluable support of our local 41ers that initiated the interaction, and nurtured this strong fellowship bond over many years, we are delighted to announce that #ThirtyTwo received a healthy donation of 10 000 Euro to bolster our local community service efforts!
Some will remember a similar large donation that assisted us in building a crèche in Kwanonqaba almost a decade ago that came from the same esteemed gentleman. It goes to show how invaluable our relationships with our European counterparts can be (Travel and build these relationships gents).
A heartfelt thank you to Jeroen Bosman, Jeroen Coers, Peter Verdegem & a special mention to Jan Peter van der Pijl & Leendert Muller who travelled all the way from Europe, for a single weekend, just to do a ceremonial hand over in person.
Pure class. It was an honour hosting you & to enjoy a Table-worthy fellowship that included the live screening of Holland vs USA (Hup, Holland, Hup!).
Rest assured we will put these much-needed funds to the best use possible. Yours in Table Paul Hoeksema

SPECTACULAR
As you already know, Paarl 44 has a great project running that helps the unprivileged people who can’t afford spectacles to get an eye test, choose a frame from the frames we collect, and get the correct lenses for their eyes.
This project is running very well with over 60 people already when for I test and now another 20 people got their spectacles this past month. The first 40 people were people that we got through other NPO’s in our community.
The next 40 will be elderly people from the elder homes in Paarl and Wellington. We are striving to help everywhere a bit as this project will continue within the next years and we will serve the rest of the community.
Keep an eye out on our Facebook Page to see what this great project are doing in our community.

FELLOWSHIP
Fellowship is a Table is a BIG part of Table. Paarl 44 had the privilege to have fun and went and attend two Tables golf days. The first one we attended was Round Table Saldanha 226. We had entered a golfer’s team and a non-golfer’s team. We started separately, but in the end, we met up and played the lasted 9 holes together. We made a weekend off it.
The whole Round Table Paarl 44 family was attending, and the women also had the chance to “kuier” together.
The second one we attended was Round Table Malmsbury 262. We only entered one team on this day and had a lot of fun. We took our NEW pipeliner with us. This was to show the pipeliner the great fellowship that Round Table has. We as Paarl 44 also got the change to learn more about the new pipe.
The fellowship we had in these two golf days we attended was GREAT and we encourage Table to join close by Tables on these days.

CALEDON TARENTAALJAG

Leading up the Golf Day, RT 276 hosted a business meeting at a local facility, a few km off the beaten path called Buffalo Drift, joined by Raiding Bellville 9 and the Durbell 41’ers. A cauldron of ideas and suggestions swept across the meeting, inductions were had and fellowship was brimming on the eve of the big event. Our fearless Vice exclaimed, “SOLD OUT! All 16 spaces for 4-Ball Teams were booked and the forecast is a sunny 25 Degrees Celcius, in the midst of a very chilly week”. The stage was set, and we were at a point of no return.
On 16 July 2022, we all started rocking up at the Darling Golf club. The atmosphere was bustling with activity and excitement. We solved a few last-minute logistics challenges, intake went through without a hitch and the day commenced with a long and hard drive for the first hole. Castles Lite’s were mixed into the teams along with early morning coffees at this brisk and beautiful Saturday morning. There were wet Tee’s. Dry Tee’s, sponsored greens and wagers were made around every corner of the course. By the second round of 9 holes after our Burger lunch, swings became wilder, and mild inebriation started taking control of those under parr scores. By evening all 16 teams had finished. Some father and son teams, teams of old and bold, a diverse set of competitors, along with Round Table 262 Malmesbury battling it out with Round Table 226 Saldanha, but at the end of the day, there could only be one winner, and that winner was fellowship. As the auction finished, and prizes were handed out, every team got a little something. We sealed off the day with a Lasagne dinner, and the Springboks beating Wales 30 -14 and then men kuierd deep into the night.
And remember….the venue is booked, and we are ready for Round 2 in 2023!
This project brought us as a Table together, brought the families together and brought the community together. We had a jol, raised over R13,000.00 for future projects and bonded. In the end, the day was made possible on the foundation of Round Table, that being Adopt, Adapt and Improve.

SOMERSET WEST 31
PROJECT
Saturday, 5 November, marked the second R5-project for year from Round Table Somerset West 31 at the Waterstone Shopping Centre. The Tablers set up stall in front of the newly remodelled Pick ‘n Pay and surprised many shoppers with their offer to “give them R5” .
The Idea of the project is to give a member of the Somerset West community a R5 coin in the hope that they would use the coin, add what is necessary to a sum and buy a product to be donated to a specified charity organisation. The young men from the Round Table nominated to support The Heartlands Baby Sanctuary and the Helderberg Animal Welfare Society.
“We gave out R2 005 worth of coins and received a total of R12,961.90 value in product donations.” Said Aliston Beviss-Challinor of the Round Table. “We also received a further R1 620 in cash donations that will be split evenly between the two charities” We even had the pleasure of meeting Beat Berger, a 41’er from Zurich 31 and short time Tabler at Somerset West 31.
Round Table Somerset West 31 would like to thank all the Waterstone management and patrons for their support. This is a true community effort and hopefully makes an #impactfulchange!

KERSFEES BLOED DRIVE

41EXEC RAIDS SHADOW ASSCO
Last year then 41er Vice-President Ben Burger and then 41er VP Elect Suren Packery attended Shadow Assco as a vehicle to strengthen the hinges of friendship between the 41ers and Tablers. As most great ideas in the world, this one also popped into space over a drink or two at the 41er Association AGM 2021 in the KZN Midlands when current RTSA President Werner Swanepoel and Ben Burger spoke about the 41ers and Tablers needing to work much closer together.
So, this year the Exec of the 41ers Association of Southern Africa took this idea a step further by holding its Second Executive Meeting for the year in Bloemfontein from 25 –27 November to coincide with the RTSA Shadow Assco conference. Dave McKay, former 41er President hosted the Exec for their meeting and Exec members were home-hosted by Dave, Tommy Rogers, Dave Oracki and John Anderson.
At abovementioned 41er Exec meeting it was resolved that going forward the 2nd Exec meeting of the 41ers will be held to coincide with Shadow Assco in Bloemfontein (if the incoming Assco will have us) as this is the ideal opportunity for the 41er Exec and incoming Assco of RTSA to build the bonds needed to ensure that both organisations are there for generations to come.
At the Gala Dinner of the 41er AGM in September, the members of the YAP tour auctioned off their tour hat with different pins collected during the tour. Their request was that the money raised through the auction be donated to The Olive Tree school which is supported by Round Table Potchefstroom 47. Further money was raised from pins donated by Wilhelm Rupflin, a 41er from Toti and Germany.
During the meeting at Shadow Assco on Saturday 26 November, VP Suren Packery and VP Elect Dellorin Bornman handed over a cheque for R10,447.50 to Mike Menezes, incoming Area Chair of STNOFS and member of RT47.
Yours in Continued Friendship
Ben Burger
