Following two years of treatment including surgery in late 2017 Callum was thankfully given the all clear. Callum shared that ”Since 2017, it still feels surreal, and I’m finding it hard to close that chapter in my life and move on.
“I was traveling to Runcorn a few weeks back and heard ‘The shine night walk’ being advertised on the radio, and this got me thinking.
“Maybe I need to do something to help others fighting cancer? Maybe by doing this it will not only go to a great cause but also give me some closure.
“So that weekend I signed up to compete in this year’s walk.”
Callum told us he has never been a big walker or runner but ultimately the main reason for him doing the 26 mile walk through the night, is to help raise awareness for cancer, and hopefully shift a few pounds along the way.
“Training is proving to be very hard but manageable” Callum told us, and he is following a strict training plan in the lead up to the walk, training four times per week.
