Bringing mindfulness into the treatment room
We ask wellness manager Liliana Paraipan, a specialist who honed her skills working in wellness centres across Romania, about the role of mindfulness at ZEM Wellness Clinic.
Why is mindfulness such an important part of your offer?
Coming to ZEM is a moment of reset, reconnection and empowerment.
Yes, you can have a great stay and see measurable transformation, but that’s not going to last forever. So we try to instil small, mindful habits the guests can take home and introduce into a daily routine. Reconnecting mindfully with the simple things we forget in normal life is a huge part of longevity.

How are you combining tech with mindful touch in treatments?
We have the very latest technology, but many others also have this, so we place extra importance on human
connection. The tech we have is not here to replace touch, it’s here to combine with our therapists’ hands to create a more profound experience for guests.
How do you help people reconnect with the present moment?
An element of mindfulness is included in all programmes, as well as our free educational workshops where we explain the science behind, for example, mindful breathing.
It’s my personal project to bring mindful presence into all our therapies, to help the guest leave us more intentional and more aware of what’s happening inside their body than when they arrived.
