Banyan Tree Spa & Wellness Academy, Phuket

The iconic flagship of a truly pioneering spa brand, Banyan Tree Spa & Wellness Academy at Banyan Tree Phuket is where authentic Thai holistic modalities meet a whole menu of wellness activities for resort guests.

As the group’s first-ever property, it remains one of the brand’s most established and successful destinations. The resort’s pioneering Spa & Wellness Academy continues to lead the brand’s global spa development, offering a comprehensive menu of specialist modalities reflecting eight wellness pillars: Movement, Mindfulness, Nourishment, Connection, Rest, Growth, Groundedness and Practice.

Purposeful delivery

The spa’s menu is deeply rooted in holistic healing. An impressive mix of Thai-inspired treatments showcase some of Banyan Tree’s best therapies, expertly delivered with confidence, ease and experience.

Dotted unobtrusively around the lush gardens, Banyan Tree’s individual ‘Thai House’ treatment rooms provide a sense of ceremony and connection. Inside, guests can experience an extraordinary range of treatments from fascial release and Thai stretching through to Banyan signature rituals.

Future development

In 2024 Banyan Tree appointed Paul Hawco as executive global director of integrated wellbeing, to oversee spa and wellness strategy across the group and lead the brand’s international expansion into new properties.

One of his key ojectives is to grow the brand’s global practitioner teams worldwide through Banyan Tree’s extensive onsite Wellness Academy, which has trained over 2,000 therapists to date.

“One of Banyan Tree Phuket’s greatest strengths lies in its combination of a highly experienced and agile team, supported by the Banyan Spa & Wellbeing Academy – a centre for training, development and live feedback,” says Hawco. “This unique ecosystem enables the resort to continuously test and fine-tune initiatives, offering valuable insights that shape our strategies and inform rollouts across the group.”
