WE ARE BUILDING OUR BRAHMAN Legacy,
FOREWORD BY BROOKE ENGLANDIn every farming and ranching family, there is a great desire to leave a legacy for the next generation to carry on. Many of you reading this catalog will understand this sentiment as you probably have fond memories helping your grandparents or parents work cattle or bale hay, no matter how challenging the task seemed at the time. With the addition of two more England boys to our family this year, the desire for a “legacy” to leave behind is stronger now more than ever.
When my in-laws married in the early 1980s, they established England Cattle Co. where they raised two boys, Benton and Cole, and a herd of Brahman cross commercial cows. In 2011, when Mike brought the first registered Brahman heifer to the ranch, he and Benton began to shift the operation to a registered herd with a focus on Polled Brahman genetics. Today, more than 12 years later, our family is recognized as one of the premier breeders of Polled Brahman cattle in the world — an honor we do not take lightly.
Our breeding philosophy has always been to breed quality first, Polled second. Many may not realize that the first set of cows Mike and Benton purchased were horned females from the herds of Sunnyside Ranch, Ava Barker and D Bar Ranch to name a few. Through careful breeding, crossing these cows with proven Polled herd sires, and retaining their superior progeny, we have established a well-rounded herd of more than
100 Polled and Polled Scurred females and herd sires. Now, we do not just keep the Polled ones. What sets our herd apart from others in the breed is that every calf born on our ranch carries the Polled gene in their genetic profile. Yes, even the horned ones. Regardless of their horn/Poll status, the cattle born and raised on England Cattle Co. are backed by four generations of cattle husbandry, and we are working on the fifth.
In the last three years, our family has began to focus on increasing the performance of the animals in our herd. It started with testing the calves that were born to two Polled or Polled-Scurred parents to determine their Horn/Poll status. Today, we are testing every calf that hits the ground, regardless if both parents are Polled or not, making us, to our knowledge, the only 100% Horn/Poll DNA verified Brahman ranch in the nation. We believe in the old saying, “practice what you preach” and if breeders are going to market the cattle they are selling as “Polled,” then it is their duty to have the paperwork to back it up.
The females that make up the offering outlined in the
AND WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US ON THE Journey.
next several pages of this catalog are the product of this philosophy. You will notice that all but two females are out of horned dams, yet the entire offering is Heterozygous Polled. Having the ability to genetically dehorn progeny from the horned cows in our herd makes them that much more valuable. Isn’t that the goal? To leave something better than you found it? At the end of the day, we are doing everything we can to improve the quality of cattle available to our customers and, in turn, building a stronger legacy to leave behind for the next generation to build on.
We invite you to join us on the journey, and build a Brahman legacy of your own. Our fall sale offering is a collection of females that have the potential to excel in the show ring, but more importantly, perform as a breeding piece, raising calves even better than herself, when her show career is over — the most important job a female has in this industry. When you buy a female from England Cattle Co., you also get a relationship with a family who relies on this breed to put food on our table. We are here to guide you on the journey,
answer your questions, listen to your challenges and give you our advice when asked. Essentially, you become part of our family, and I can guarantee we will answer when you call. It is not unusual for me to wake up at 3 AM and see my husband messaging our friends in Thailand or answering a call from a local customer on a Sunday evening. The relationship we have with our customers is one we cherish. We will laugh together, cry together and learn together, and always do our best to give you our very best. Of course, we are human and might fail at times but isn’t that the beauty of family? We promise to continue to show up for you, and put in the work to bring you our very best, year after year.
On behalf of my entire family, we appreciate your interest in our fall sale offering, and look forward to seeing you online on sale day, Wednesday, Sept. 27 and Thursday, Sept. 28 on premierlivestockauctions. com. If we can be of any assistance before, during or after the sale, please give us a call. God bless you and yours!
BUY WITH CONFIDENCE FROM THE ONLY 100% HOR N/POLL DNA VERIFIED BRAHMAN RANCH IN THE NATION.
BACKED BY ZOETIS GENETIC TESTING: We believe in providing our customers with as much data and performance information that we can so they can make the smartest decisions for their own breeding programs. Which is why we collect a tissue sample on all calves born on our ranch and send them off to be tested by Zoetis Genetics for the Horn/ Poll gene. This is the only fool proof way to determine if an animal is truly Polled (Homozygous or Heterozygous) or Polled-Scurred. When our customers succeed, we succeed! Look for these genetic markers in the catalog.
HOMOZYGOUS POLLED (PP): No matter how you breed them, all resulting progeny will be phenotypically Polled. Heads of PP cattle are smooth with a distinct point in the center of the poll (the space between the ears).
HETEROZYGOUS POLLED (P h) : When bred to another Ph animal, there is a 75% chance the resulting progeny will be Polled and a 25% chance the progeny will be horned. When bred to a horned animal, there is a 50% chance the resulting Progeny will be Polled. Heads of Ph cattle are often smooth but may have some extra hair around the poll.
POLLED-SCURRED (S): T he presence of a horned gene is present. An animal is scurred if the horn is not attached to the skull. This can be determined at a young age by physically wiggling the horn. If it moves, the animal is scurred. If the horn stays attached, the animal is horned. Heads of S cattle are more square than PP or Ph and will have a rough patch, and often, visible scurs present at the poll. Scurs vary in shape and size.
HORNED ( hh ): Horned animals can be identified at an early age by the shape of their head. Horned calves will have a very flat, square head in comparison to Polled calves whose heads will have a point in the center. In our experience, our grey Polled calves are mostly born with red-topped heads.
ONE-STAR POLLED: Animal is the first Polled or PolledScurred progeny in it’s lineage.
TWO-STAR POLLED: The animal and either their sire or dam are Polled or Polled-Scurred.
THREE-STAR POLLED: The animal and both their sire and dam are Polled or Polled-Scurred.
FOUR-STAR POLLED: The animal, along with at least one Grandsire or Granddam on both sides of their pedigree are Polled or Polled-Scurred.
FIVE-STAR POLLED: The animal, along with at least one Great Grandsire or Great Granddam on both sides of their pedigree are Polled or Polled-Scurred. To achieve ultimate 5-star status, the animal must check all of the boxes of the previous rating qualifications.
POLLED POWER CROSS: The England Cattle Co. “Polled Power Cross” is achieved by crossing proven herd sires and cow families with roots tracing back to our original, foundation bloodlines. To achieve this elite status, the animal itself, along with both their sire and dam, must be Polled.

Over the years we have offered some of our top females for sale. In our opinion, ECC Polled Rio Queen 815/3 is one of the best that we have ever offered! No matter your objective, you must appreciate this phenomenal female. For those that are interested in showing, you will appreciate the striking phenotype of 815/3 as she is a heavy-structured, big-bodied, long, level, thick-ended and feminine female with great pigmentation. If you are looking for a breeding piece, study the pedigree of this female as she is out of ECC Polled Bluebell 460/0 who we showed and sold half interest in our 2021 “Brahmans on the Rio” Production Sale to Evan Felker for $20,000. Bluebell results from one of the most proven Polled matings in the breed that has produced 29 progeny, including the 2016 Reserve International Champion +LMC Polled Passion 55/4 and many other breed influencers. The sire to 815/3 is Polled Pathfinder who is one of the most proven sires around the world with show winners, top sellers and breed influencers to his credit. The mating of Bluebell and Pathfinder is an exciting new genetic combination that we are proud to offer to the public. We will hate to see 815/3 leave but know that she will impact the herd of her new owner. Do not miss this one!

ECC Polled Rio Queen 829/3 is a female that combines our four breeding essentials: Performance, Pedigree, Pretty and Polled! The one word that defines the phenotype of this heifer is FANCY. Look at the length, levelness, femininity, bone, muscle and volume that she combines. Do not misjudge 829/3 as just a “pretty face” as she is performance-packed, charting positive for growth, ranking in the Top 1/3 of the breed for Ribeye Area, Top 15% for Milk and Top 10% for Marbling. The eye appeal and performance of 829/3 should not be surprising when you realize that she is sired by ECC Polled Chief 719 (P), one of our top herd sires that results from the cross of LMC Polled Sambo 45/0 and D Bar Miss 768/1, two of the most influential animals in our genetic lines. The dam to 829/3 is a female that we purchased from Underwood Ranch that combines some of the most popular, proven and performance-oriented genetics in the breed, including the show-winning Mr. H Cavalier Manso 700, the $50,000 half-interest bull and sire to a Reserve International Champion, Mr. H Morton Manso, and +SNS Ms. Karu Didor who is the dam to +Lady H Lisa
LOT 3 HAS THE LOOK TO BE COMPETITIVE IN THE SHOW RING AND, DUE TO HER PERFORMANCE PROFILE, WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT SHE WILL CERTAINLY BE A VALUABLE BREEDING PIECE.
Study this one! ECC Polled Rio Queen 840/3 is a beautiful female that combines the phenotypic traits of eye appeal, volume, length, levelness, structural soundness and muscle. In addition to her phenotypic superiority, 840/3 charts positive for the economically relevant traits of Birth Weight, Weaning Weight, Yearling Weight, Milk and Marbling! This progressive performance profile should not be surprising when you see that her sire is our most performance-oriented bull, ECC AX Polled Rio King 620 (P). The dam to 840/3 is a female we purchased from J.D. Hudgins, Inc. that is by the 2015 International Champion, +Mr. H Elijah Manso 281/2, and out of the proven dam that also produced an International Show Division Winner for Bar D Ranch and a donor for our friends at 4F Cattle Co. We think this female will be competitive in the show ring, and we are confident that she will certainly be a valuable breeding piece!

ECC Polled Fancy 114/8 (P) was a member of our show string for three years before assuming her role as a top young donor. There is so much to LOVE about Fancy! The first thing that strikes you about Fancy is her superior phenotype that is huge bodied, long, level, super feminine, beefy, heavy structured, and most importantly, one of the best udders we have ever seen! Once you study Fancy, it is realized that she is a half sibling to two of our hottest herd sires. The sire to Fancy is Bardia Ambassador (P) who also sired ECC Polled Maverick 302/9 (P), one of the most exciting sires in the breed! In addition, she is a half-sister to the Australian Beef Week Champion Female which helped Bardia achieve the title of Australian Brahman Sire of the Year in 2017. Many of our show winners, top sellers and herd influencers are a result of his offspring. The dam to Fancy, D Bar Miss 768/1, is also the dam to ECC Polled Chief 719 (P). For many years while 768/1 was alive, she was ALWAYS the favorite of everyone who visited the ranch due to her beautiful build, superior performance values and proven production. Fancy’s first natural calf by ECC El Caporal 301 (S) sold half interest to Burton Hebert for $16,000. ECC Polled Rio King 662/1 (P) is OUTSTANDING as are her first embryo transfer offspring. We are truly offering our best with this aspiration opportunity! Selling one aspiration with a guarantee of six embryos to be facilitated at a mutually agreed upon facility.
ECC POLLED 114/8 Fancy
We are excited to offer the very first aspiration opportunity on our favorite young cow in the donor pen: ECC POLLED FANCY 114/8 (S). You might recognize her as the dam of ECC Polled Rio King 662/1, the herd sire prospect we sold half-interest for $16,000 in our May sale. He was Fancy’s first natural calf, and man did she knock it out of the park! Fancy’s milking ability is second-to-none and she has the best udder we have ever produced, and arguably, one of the best we have ever seen in the Brahman breed. Her first embryo calves, pictured below, only add to her proven ability as a donor dam. We recommend crossing her with the sire in Lot 7 to produce females with style, muscle and power!
