A BRAHMAN TRADITION, FOUR Generations STRONG.
Four production sales representing four generations of growth and dedication to the Brahman breed. Our history of owning Brahman cattle dates back more than 70 years when Elizabeth’s grandfather, C.W. Schwarz, purchased a registered Brahman bull and a small herd of cows from J.D. Hudgins, Inc., back in 1950. Since then, four generations of Schwarz and England Brahman breeders have called Mercedes, Texas home. In fact, the headquarters where our sale facility sits today rests on the same land our family settled in the early 1900s.
Our focus on Polled Brahman cattle began in 2011 when Mike made the decision to transition from a primarily commercial Brahman and Brahman cross herd to a registered operation. His forward-thinking vision to breed Polled Brahmans set us apart from the status quo at the time, and today we are recognized as one of the largest breeders of Polled Brahman cattle in the USA.
Fast forward 10 years, our business grew to become England Cattle Company, LLC with an inter-family partnership between Mike and Elizabeth “Crickett” England, and Benton and Brooke England, est. in 2021. The expansion has allowed us to diversify and develop a farm-to-table beef program, England Cattle Co. Beef, along with adding a growing team of now three additional fulltime employees, a sales consultant and several summer interns, all with the goal of better-serving our customers and being a source of information and knowledge for the Polled Brahman breed.
The growth of our family business overtime was not one of ease and certainly did not happen overnight. As with any ranching operation, our family was met with financial challenges, growing pains and crippling weather events, several years in a row. However, no matter the circumstance, we continued on. To survive in the cattle business, one must have grit, determination, unwaivering faith and a deep-seeded passion that prevails on the worst days when you just want to throw in the towel. Trust us, we have been there. However, to us, “A Brahman Tradition” is more than a phrase — it is a lifestyle. A lifestyle that we have passionately lived for as long as we can remember, and one we hope to pass on to future generations.
Generationally, the featured lots in this catalog represent years of selective-breeding, trait-mapping and strict-culling to create a

well-rounded Brahman herd that is performance-driven, with cows and herd sires backed by breed character, fertility, sound structure and a phenotypically-polled genetic makeup.
As you flip through the catalog, we encourage you to take a look at the pedigrees on each lot, several generations deep. You will notice that the majority of cattle in the sale are three and four generations Polled. This year, we have identified these animals with a star rating of one to five based on the number of Polled parentage that can be found in their immediate pedigree. We have also included a marker for what we call a “Polled Power Cross” — the ultimate cross of our most proven herd sires and cow families. In addition, we have also identified where each animal in the sale falls on the Zoetis Horn/ Poll scale. Every lot in the sale has been tested using this system to identify their Polled status. We know that every operation is unique, and we feel these markers will aid you in making the best, most-educated, choice for your breeding program.
Another exciting feature of the sale this year is the first offering of progeny on our world-renown herd sire, ECC Polled Maverick 302/9. We are blessed to partner domestically with B.R. Cutrer, Inc. of Wharton, Texas, and internationally with JRL Stud of Queensland, Australia on Polled Maverick. The sale this year features not only his daughters but also bred heifers, a semen package on his sire and a full sister that is in the running for the best female we have ever produced out of the Bardia Ambassador and Miss Double A 468/7 cross. Polled Maverick progeny can be found on pages 8-11, 13, 21 and 23 of the catalog.
We can confidently say that this year’s offering of cattle represents the highest-quality and most-diverse lineup that we have brought to market, to date. Together with our sale manager, Chris Shivers, we have selected a stout lineup with something for everyone from young calves at side to haltered show prospects, and yearlings to bred heifers, with a great herd-sire prospect, and exciting embryo and semen genetic packages to tie it all together.
These are exciting times for Polled Brahman! We sincerely thank you for taking the time to preview the 100% Polled offering in our 4th Annual “Brahmans on the Rio” Production Sale. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, May 20 at 6 p.m. live at the ranch, and online at premierlivestockauctions.com.

PROVEN DONOR & SHOW COW WITH WINS AT EVERY TEXAS MAJOR!
In this sale, we are offering our best as validated by selling LMC ECC LF Polled Lolo 127/4 (S) who is the most proven show cow to date for both us and our partners, the Sellman Family, of K-K Cattle Co. Two of Lolo’s biggest wins were when Kendyl Sellman showed her to a Grand Champion finish at the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Junior Heifer Show, receiving a $10,000 scholarship, and then we exhibited her at the International Brahman Show the following year where she picked up a Reserve Senior Champion title. Lolo is not only a winner, but also a proven producer, with 12 registered offspring to include ECC K-K Polled Goose 292/2 (P) who was the feature bull lot in our first production sale. The success of Lolo should not be surprising as her dam is Miss Double A 468/7, one of our most proven donors, with two of our herd sires, ECC Comandante 749 (S), a full brother to Lolo, and ECC Polled Maverick 302/9 also to her credit. The sire to Lolo is our foundation herd sire LMC Polled Authority 115/0 (P), further enhancing this genetic opportunity. We are selling full possession of Lolo and, along with K-K, reserve the right to register all previously frozen embryos.
Backed by Zoetis Testing
We collect a tissue sample on all calves born on our ranch and send them off to be tested by Zoetis Genetics for the Horn/Poll gene. This is the only fool proof way to determine if an animal is truly Polled (Homozygous or Heterozygous) or Polled-Scurred.
HOMOZYGOUS POLLED (PP): No matter how you breed them, all resulting progeny will be phenotypically Polled. Heads of PP cattle are smooth with a distinct point in the center of the poll (the space between the ears).
HETEROZYGOUS POLLED (P h) : When bred to another Ph animal, there is a 75% chance the resulting progeny will be Polled and a 25% chance the progeny will be horned. When bred to a horned animal, there is a 50% chance the resulting Progeny will be Polled. Heads of Ph cattle are often smooth but may have some extra hair around the poll.
POLLED-SCURRED (S): The presence of a horned gene is present. An animal is scurred if the horn is not attached to the skull. This can be determined at a young age by physically wiggling the horn. If it moves, the animal is scurred. If the horn stays attached, the animal is horned. Heads of S cattle are more square than PP or Ph and will have a rough patch, and often, visible scurs present at the poll. Scurs vary in shape and size.
HORNED ( hh ): Horned animals can be identified at an early age by the shape of their head. Horned calves will have a very flat, square head in comparison to Polled calves whose heads will have a point in the center. In our experience, our grey Polled calves are mostly born with red-topped heads.
ONE-STAR POLLED: Animal is the first Polled or PolledScurred progeny in it’s lineage.

TWO-STAR POLLED: The animal and either their sire or dam are Polled or Polled-Scurred.

THREE-STAR POLLED: The animal and both their sire and dam are Polled or Polled-Scurred.

FOUR-STAR POLLED: The animal, along with at least one Grandsire or Granddam on both sides of their pedigree are Polled or Polled-Scurred.
FIVE-STAR POLLED: The animal, along with at least one Great Grandsire or Great Granddam on both sides of their pedigree are Polled or Polled-Scurred. To achieve ultimate 5-star status, the animal must check all of the boxes of the previous rating qualifications.

HOMOZYGOUS POLLED & PROVEN CHAMPION SHOW HEIFER!
ECC Polled Cajun Quinn 681/1 (PP) is a Homozygous Polled, proven show heifer! Over the past year, Tanna Trapp has exhibited Quinn in several shows, with her picking up a Grand Champion win at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and a Reserve Champion ABC title at the Willacy County Show — one of the largest county shows in the Rio Grande Valley. You must be impressed with the show ring success of Quinn, but the true value will be found in her breeding potential. Due to Quinn being Homozygous Polled, 100% of her calves will be Polled, even when bred to a horned bull, making this a valuable opportunity for anyone wanting to breed Polled cattle. The dam to Quinn, ECC Polled Cajun Queen 281/9 (P), was also a successful show heifer for Tanna Trapp. Cajun Queen is by our foundation sire LMC Polled Authority 115/0 (P) and out of one of our most proven donors, D Bar Miss 816/1, who is the dam of ECC Polled Rose 591/1 that sold half-interest for $20,000 in last year’s sale, as well as our donor ECC Pistol Annie 510 (P). The sire to Quinn is Mr. 4F Polled Ice Man 3/6 who was a former show bull and now one of our most proven sires with show winners and top sellers to his credit. Ice Man is the result of crossing two of the most prolific Polled animals in the breed based on registrations: LMC Polled Sambo 45/0 (P) and LMC LF Polled Elma 214/4 (P). We have sold lots of good cattle but we must rank this opportunity as one of the best that we have ever offered!

Foundation Genetics
We are proud to introduce the England Cattle Co. “Polled Power Cross” which is achieved by crossing proven herd sires and cow families with roots tracing back to our original, foundation bloodlines. To achieve this elite status, the animal itself, along with both their sire and dam, must be Polled. Below are some of the great bloodlines in this year’s sale.

+MISS V8 775/7 x ECC POLLED MAVERICK 302/9

At the beginning of the year, we were honored when one of the most progressive operations in the country, B.R. Cutrer, Inc., contacted us about purchasing an interest in ECC Polled Maverick 302/9. We were able to come to terms, form a progressive partnership and now both utilize what has been deemed as one of the best Polled bulls in the world. As a result of our partnership, and the superior females owned by BRC, we invited them to sell an embryo lot in this sale and oh did they ever offer their best! The dam to this embryo lot is +Miss V8 775/7 who is best known as the dam to the 2021 International Champion Grey Female, BRC 805, and a 2023 International Show Class Winning bull. +Miss V8 775/7 is an obvious producer which should not be surprising based on the genetic superiority of her parents. The sire to these embryos is ECC Polled Maverick 302/9 a show bull for us but more importantly a sire that has created a lot of interest globally. Maverick is sired by the 2017 Australian Sire of the Year, Bardia Ambassador, and out of Miss Double A 468/7 who has been one of our top producers. We think this genetic cross should be superior and certainly deemed as “cutting edge.” Selling a package of three embryos with a guarantee of one 90-day pregnancy. Maverick’s sire! Due to limited inventory, this will be the final offering of semen on Bardia in the USA for the foreseeable future.
In 2016 Mike and Crickett attended the World Brahman Congress in Australia. While there, they saw Bardia Ambassador and purchased the USA semen rights. After we secured this semen package, Bardia was recognized as the 2017 Bull of the Year in Australia and sired the Beef Week Champion Brahman Female the following year. We have used this bull on a limited basis due to the heavy influence of +LMC LF Ambassador 700/7 already in our herd. However, we love the calves by this sire to include ECC Polled Maverick 302/9 and ECC Polled Fancy 114/8 (P) who were both show animals and now herd influencers.
