Club assembly and DG visits in September The month of September started with speaker galore from Timothy Ding, who gave us insights into the world of cloud computing and the need for protection of personal data with contents hosted online. Several speakers came to share their causes with us. We had President Ong Chee Wee of E-club 3310 sharing the charity dinner for the Foundation of Rotary Clubs Singapore, PP Lim Soon Hock on his collection of thoughts in a new book for the Institution of Engineers and PP Gladys Pang on RC Marina City’s single malt whisky promotion. Last but not least were plans ahead for the Foundation of Rotary Clubs Singapore, leading to members casting their votes on resolutions to determine support for FRCS restructuring and plans for a Rotary Nursing Home. This culminated to the final event in September where we had our club assembly that was tied in with DG Andre Suharto’s first visit to our club. DG Andre sets an exemplary example of service above self as he engaged from 9am for our planning guide with Club President, Club secretary PP Peter Yap, President Nominee Dave Wee , AG Khush and myself. In the evening we had a working dinner amidst presentations made by SJII interactors, SUTD rotaractors and our respective service directors. All these happened on DG’s birthday, so we had some fun celebrating this with him and his wife Norzan at the close of a productive night out at Tanah Merah Country Club.
