From ‘engage Rotary, change lives’ to ‘Light up rotary' July marks the start of a New Rotary Year and a number of formalities to follow. Our last meeting on June marked a round up of an excellent year under the leadership of IPP Mohan and now a AG in District 3310. Venue was changed to Salon 2 at level 2 but 31 members showed up in full force to connect and be entertained by a show starring IPP Mohan and PP Wah Yuan with ‘guest’ star PP Peter Yap dancing to the beat of the latest Bollywood hit! It was indeed a fun show with plenty of great fellowship at last Friday’s club meeting. We start the Rotary Year with a birthday greeting to PP Andrew Koh’s whose birthday falls exactly on 1 July. This Friday on 4 July, we shall have the first weekly meeting with the installation ceremony of the new board of directors for RY2014/2015. Dressing is smart and we welcome spouses and guests to join us too. As we complete the key formalities on 4 July, we move on to 5 July to have our dinner party at the Grand
Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. PP Benedict Soh is the organizing chair for this year and I am sure the fun and laughter will resonate through the Riverfront ballroom this Saturday night! Dress code is formal and the Guest of Honor is Gerard Ee, well known for his championing of social service rights and issues in Singapore Our programme for July meetings is filled with speakers for two Fridays on July 11 and 25. There is a change for our lunch meeting on 18 July to be an evening fellowship at PP Andrew’s Koh house instead. Andrew has kindly offered to sponsor the buffet dinner and I will take care of the alcohol. Cont’d next page
