The Otwell Hub, established in 2020 to honor individuals who annually give $1000+, honors Laura and Bob Otwell’s commitment to happy, healthy, strong communities and the power of thoughtful, intentional, and inclusive community connection. Members of The Otwell Hub receive an invitation to our annual VIP dinner at The Franklin in mid-November, an invitation to our VIP springtime slow roll experience in May, and personal updates throughout the year from our Executive Director. “Norte brings people together and empowers them. Norte programs and advocacy are inclusive, reaching across demographics. They’ve been a catalyst, impacting health, education and our ability of getting around in an active way. When we see a group of Norte kids cycling down our street and hear their laughter, it warms our heart.” — Bob and Laura Otwell

DREAM BIG AND WORK HARDER WITH TEAM ORANGE! In 2020 Norte is working hard to reach over 3000 young—and young at heart—with our transformative educational programming. Norte couldn’t further our grassroots movement to transform the culture of health across the Grand Traverse region without your commitment of time, talents, and treasure. There are many ways to share your passion and expertise to help Norte achieve our mission of building stronger, better connected and more walk/bike friendly communities. A few fun and easy ways you can help include: becoming a member of El Colectivo by contributing on a monthly basis, aligning your business goals with Norte as a Business Champion, signing up to volunteer in our free and open-to-all Community Bike Shop, or serving on our Advocacy committee to share your passion and valuable voice with Team Orange. YOU are the vital chain to our community’s happy, healthy, strong future and what’s possible for Norte. Gracias! — Ashlea Walter, Development Director

NORTE | 2019 ANNUAL REPORT

“We are proud supporters of Norte’s efforts to get more people outside and living healthier, more active lives. Our Bicycle Friendly Business certification will hopefully serve as a model for others: if our small business can do it, anyone can do it,” said Emily Modrall, Boomerang Chief of Staff. “Norte helped make the application process easy and successful. I look forward to seeing a cluster of Bicycle Friendly Businesses in Traverse City. We can put Traverse City on the map as the most bikefriendly business community around.”
