El Beneficio de no Llevar la Misma Carga

Yo soy Adela y soy una mamá Latina. Como madre Latina, siento que es más difícil obtener recursos para poder pagar gastos médicos de mis hijos. Tristemente cuando mis hijos perdieron su seguro médico, se enfermaron y en ese momento no pudo comprar sus medicamentos. Me dio tanto sentimiento no poder comprarlos para ellos, especialmente porque se sentían muy mal. Fue una carga grande, esa desesperación no poder cuidarlos bien y proveerlos con lo que necesitaban. Los gastos médicos pueden ser grandes sin aseguranza.

Gracias a Dios ellos ya están cubiertos con seguro médico a través de Medicaid. Tenía la duda de cómo aplicar, hacerlo sola fue muy difícil para mí. Escuché por una amiga que en El Centro me podrían ayudar con la solicitud. Eso fue lo que hice. Ahora puedo conseguir todos los servicios médicos que mis niños necesitan. No me siento desesperada si ellos se enferman. Sé que puedo contar con su seguro médico. Aconsejo que vean el beneficio de no llevar la misma carga de antes. Sigamos adelante para la salud de nuestra familia y pidan ayuda con la solicitud si lo necesitan.

The Benefit of Not Carrying the Same Burden

I’m Adela and I’m a Latina mom. As a Latina mother, I feel that it is harder to obtain resources to be able to pay my children’s medical costs. Sadly, when my children lost their health insurance, they got sick and at that moment I couldn’t buy their medicine. It made me so upset that I couldn’t buy it for them, especially because they were feeling so bad. It was a huge burden, that desperation of not being to care for them well and provide them with what they needed. Medical expenses can be great without insurance.

Thanks to God they are now covered with health insurance through Medicaid. I wasn’t sure how to apply, doing it alone was very difficult for me. I heard from a friend that they could help me with the application in El Centro. That is what I did. Now I can get the medical services that my kids need. I don’t feel as desperate if they get sick. I know I can count on their health insurance. I advise that you see the benefit of not carrying the same burden as before. Let’s go forward for the health of our family and ask for help with the application if you need it.
