Me llamo Magali y vivo en Kansas City, Missouri. Soy en Especialista de Inscripciones para el programa de Navegación de Salud en El Centro. Trabajo con la comunidad del condado de Wyandotte, ayudando con varios servicios que son relacionados con la salud. Uno de ellos es con la inscripción de Medicaid.

Algo que me gusta de El Centro es la dedicación que tenemos como una organización. Nosotros trabajamos como familia para ayudar a las familias que le brindamos nuestro apoyo. Puedo ayudar a mis clientes a navegar el sistema de salud para que sus hijos tengan seguro médico y un doctor de cabecera. Medicaid ayuda a las personas a llevar a sus hijos al médico con más confianza. Cuando uno no tiene seguro médico, lucha mucho más por el dinero.

Un concepto erróneo que la gente tiene sobre Medicaid es que no es necesario informar un cambio de vida. Si alguien nuevo llega a la casa, si se muda de casa, si tiene un nuevo trabajo, o si deja de trabajar debe informar a Medicaid sobre esos cambios. Soy afortunada de escuchar las historias de mis clientes. Gracias a Medicaid ellos pueden llevar a sus hijos a un chequeo regular o si necesario, Dios no quiera, tengan una emergencia.

My name is Magali and I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I am an Enrollment Specialist for the Health Navigation Program at El Centro. I work with the community in Wyandotte County, helping with various services that are related to health. One of these services is Medicaid.

One thing that I like about El Centro is the dedication that we have as an organization. We work as a team to help the families that we support. I am able help my clients navigate the health system so that their kids have health insurance and a primary doctor. Medicaid helps parents take their kids to the doctor with more confidence. When someone doesn’t have health insurance, they struggle much more to budget money.

One misconception that people have about Medicaid is that it isn’t necessary to update information about life changes. If someone new moves into the home, there is a change of address, a change in the workplace or if you leave work, you should report any of these to Medicaid. I am fortunate to be able to hear stories from my clients. Thanks to Medicaid, they can take their kids to regular check-ups and if needed, but hopefully not, get medical care if they have an emergency.
