Hola, soy Blanca y vivo en Kansas City, Kansas. Mi posición en El Centro es ser una Embajadora de Medicaid, siendo una conexión entre la comunidad y la agencia. Me gusta ayudar a la comunidad, y me llena mucho. Ayudar a la gente te ayuda a ti mismo en tener más información y educación de manera personal porque mientras te prepararas para ayudar a los demás, básicamente te ayudas a ti también porque aprendes.

Lo que hago relacionado con Medicaid es mostrarle a la gente que el programa existe, cómo funciona y de qué manera les puede ayudar. Ya sea que califiquen para el servicio sin necesidad de pagar, pero también haciéndoles saber que aun si les toca pagar todavía es increíble recibir un servicio así por ese mínimo pago porque para todas las personas que no tienen suficiente dinero para pagar el servicio médico, el Medicaid les hace sentir una seguridad teniendo Medicaid porque están cubiertos 100% en ambos casos.

Tener seguridad de que tus hijos tienen cobertura médica para prevenir enfermedades o ayudarles en servicios médicos cuando han tenido un accidente o enfermedad. Tengo tranquilidad de llevar a mi hija a sus chequeos médicos y mantener una buena salud evitando enfermedades. Me gustaría que la gente supiera que hay servicios extras a parte de sus visitas regulares al Doctor. Existen muchos especialistas y programas de salud especiales que pueden son incluidos en la cobertura de Medicaid que puede beneficiar a toda la familia.

My name is Blanca and I live in Kansas City, Kansas. My position in El Centro is Medicaid Ambassador, being the connection between the community and the agency. I like to help the community; it makes me feel fulfilled. Helping people also helps you to have more information and education on a more personal level because as you prepare yourself to help others, you basically help yourself too because you learn.

What I do related to Medicaid is show people that the program exists, how it works, and how it can help them. Whether they qualify for the service without paying, or even if they have a copay, it is still an incredible service to receive that is affordable for all those people that don’t have enough money for health insurance. Medicaid makes you feel secure because it covers you 100% in both cases.

It’s good to have the security of having medical coverage for your kids to help prevent illness or help with medical services when there is an accident or sickness. I feel comfortable taking my daughter to her medical check-ups to maintaining good health and prevent diseases. I would like for the people to know that there are extra services, aside from their regular visits to the doctor. There are specialists and special health programs that exist that are included in Medicaid coverage that could benefit all the family as well.
