Una Pandemia sin Trabajo
Medicaid es importante porque en el transcurso de la pandemia, nos quedamos sin trabajo y fue una gran preocupación habernos quedado sin cubertura médica. Como una madre, me he sentido mal por tener que evitar llevar a mi hijo al dentista y a sus chequeos regulares por falta de dinero. A la hora de que mi niño se enferme, no voy a tener dinero para pagar la factura. Eso me da miedo porque si los cobros se acumulan mucho, luego no se si lo acepten cuando haya una emergencia.
Gracias a El Centro y con la ayuda de Medicaid, puedo llevar a mi hijo a sus chequeos regulares y no me tengo que preocupar si lo van a rechazar por falta de seguro médico. No todas las comunidades tienen acceso a un centro comunitario como El Centro, que ayuda con la aplicación de Medicaid. Como padres, es nuestra responsabilidad informarnos y tomar acción para el bien estar de nuestros hijos.

A Pandemic without a Job
Medicaid is important to us because in the course of the pandemic, we lost our jobs, and it was a terrible concern to be left uninsured. As a mother, I have felt bad for having to avoid taking my son to the dentist and to his regular check-ups due to lack of money. If my child gets sick, I will not have money to pay the medical bills and that scares me because if the charges pile up, I don’t know if they will accept him later if there is an emergency.
Thanks to El Centro and with the help of Medicaid, I can take my son to his regular check-ups without having to worry if he will be turned down due to lack of health insurance. Not all communities have access to a community center like El Centro, which helps with the Medicaid application. As parents, it’s our responsibility to keep ourselves informed and take action for the well-being of our children.
