What are the best TV programmes you have seen this year? The night of and House of cards. LF And among films? Fuocoammare, by Gianfranco Rosi, nominated for an Oscar in 2017. An amazing film that I hope will shake people’s consciences about the migrant drama. Then I liked very much The woman who left, by the Filipino Lav Diaz, Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, and I appreciated Youth by Paolo Sorrentino. LF
Who do you like among Italian actors? Anna Magnani. LF You are also an activist, and several years ago you were with Michelle Obama in Morocco. I was supporting the Let Girls Learn initiative, focused on offering girls an education in places where it is difficult to get one. Seeing these girls and the difficulties that they have to get an education both struck and moved me. It was a powerful experience. LF Which of your roles do you think has remained the most in the hearts of your public? Right in Morocco, in a situation that was totally different from our own, I noticed that the girls I spoke with knew the legendary Miranda Priestly, from The Devil Wears Prada, and Donna Sheridan from Mamma mia!. I think they are the most remembered therefore. I have no particular preferences myself.

She sent me her maestro to learn the arias of the film. It was very funny and we both laughed a lot. LF Is American cinema in good health today? That depends on your point of view. It’s all zombies, dystopian futures and superheroes. Perhaps television is the means that today proposes more interesting things. LF Do you have any projects under way in that sense?
