This Sunday, September 9th is National Grandparents Day. What a profound influence Grandma Lois had in a young man named Timothy. Timothy would grow to become the "right-hand man" of the great Apostle Paul in his missionary work and church planting.

The influence of grandparents on their grandchildren is profound. They are especially needed today. If seems more grandparents are helping raise kids today. Lois assisted Eunice with Timothy, who grew to be a great boy and man of God. Their faith was real (unfeigned) and they taught the scriptures. Later in this book it says of Timothy in 2nd Timothy 3:15, “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

That was the greatest education they gave him. The church can assist grandparents and parents with that.

Prep Time 45 minutes, Cook Time 20 minutes Total Time 1 hour 5 minutes Servings 8 Cups Ingredients: 5-7 Pounds Apples, Sugar (optional) Instructions: Wash, peel, core, and quarter apples.In a large covered pot, add apples and just enough water to prevent sticking. Cook over med-low heat until apples are soft. Once apples are soft, puree using a food processor, food mill, or immersion blender.

Return puree to saucepan. Add sugar to taste, if desired.Bring applesauce to a boil, stirring to prevent sticking. If canning: Fill hot, sterile jars. Leave 1/2" headspace. Fit 2 piece lids and process in a water bath canner for 20 minutes (pints and quarts). Recipe Notes: Cinnamon applesauce can be made by adding cinnamon during the last 5 minutes of cooking! You can also add other spices such as nutmeg or allspice!
