PRE-KINDERGARTEN & KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2023-2024 EDEN CENTRAL SCHOOL

Starting January 31, 2023, we will be accepting Fall 2023 pre-registrations for Pre-K and Kindergarten on our website: www.edencsd.org Please look for a link under site shortcuts to Fall Registration 2023 for Pre-K and Kindergarten.

To be eligible for Kindergarten in September, a child must be 5 years of age on/before December 1, 2023.

To be eligible for Pre-Kindergarten in September, a child must be 4 years of age on/before December 1, 2023. If they are older than this age, they are not eligible for this program. (If they are eligible for Kindergarten this school year, they are not eligible for Pre-Kindergarten.)

All Pre-Kindergarten students must be registered prior to the open registration cutoff date of March 29, 2023. If more students register than spots are available, a lottery may be necessary. All classes for Pre-K and Kindergarten are full day programs.

SCHOOL BUS DRIVERS and BUS ATTENDANTS NEEDED!

THE NORTH COLLINS CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT has an immediate need to fill permanent & substitute positions in our Transportation Department.

Bus Driver applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age have a good driving record , already have or be willing to obtain a CDL class “B” license with a P & S endorsement, pass a background check, physical and drug screen. (Options available for CDL class “C”- call for more information.) Free Paid Training to get your CDL provided to the right candidates. Bus Driver starting pay- $17.50 per hour. Bus Attendants must be a minimum of 19 years of age & pass a background check. Candidates for all positions must be dependable and enjoy working with and being around children. Our permanent positions involve working a split day: 6am-9am & 1:30pm-4pm (for example). Benefits include: paid health insurance, flexible spending account, paid sick & personal time, perfect attendance bonus, overtime availability, NYS Retirement Pension Plan. Our substitute positions allow you to pick work as it comes available. We have work available at many different times of the day including field trips, sports runs (from 3:45pm on) and even work at times on weekends. This is a fundamental program designed to incorporate floor hockey into the P.E. curriculum across WNY area schools. Christine M. Gokey born July 20, 1933 and entered into eternity on January 11, 2023. Survived by her husband Kenneth A. Gokey formerly of Rushford Dr. Hamburg, NY. Loving mother of Meeshel (Gregory) Helinski of Ohio. Grandmother of Eliyana. Aunt of Jo Ann Silk of Jamestown, NY. Sister of the late Mary. A memorial service was held from Wentland Funeral Home 10634 Main St. (Rt. 62) North Collins, NY. “Tina” enjoyed speaking Croatian, praising the Lord and loving on her family.

Janet W. Gordon, age 92, of Hamburg, New York passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family by her side. She was born January 7, 1931 in Buffalo, New York. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Stella Wittmeyer. Janet had a love of gardening and was passionate about Angels. She would place them in her gardens. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. She was an avid sports fan. Enjoying the Buffalo Bills, New York Yankees and was a diehard Michigan Wolverines football and basketball fan. “Go Blue”. Mostly, Janet will be known for being a doting grandmother. Her grandchildren were her world. Janet was strong in her faith; spending time in prayer and reading daily devotionals. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is predeseased by her parents Clarence and Stella and her sisters, Judith Wittmeyer and Jean Kleis. She is survived by her children; Joseph, Mary, Mark (Sharon) and Christopher (Bonnie) Gordon and her grandchildren; Emma, Sam, Grace and Andrew Gordon. Funeral Services will be private. Rebecca Holmes of Lawtons, NY was recently named to the President's List at The State University of New York at Potsdam. Holmes, whose major is Mathematics, was among 809 SUNY Potsdam students who were honored for academic excellence in the Fall 2022 semester. Officer-in-Charge Dr. Philip T. Neisser '79 recognized the students for earning top marks. To achieve the honor of being on the President's List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
