PRE-KINDERGARTEN & KINDERGARTEN

REGISTRATION 2023-2024 EDEN CENTRAL SCHOOL

Starting January 31, 2023, we will be accepting Fall 2023 pre-registrations for Pre-K and Kindergarten on our website: www.edencsd.org Please look for a link under site shortcuts to Fall Registration 2023 for Pre-K and Kindergarten.

To be eligible for Kindergarten in September, a child must be 5 years of age on/before December 1, 2023.

To be eligible for Pre-Kindergarten in September, a child must be 4 years of age on/before December 1, 2023. If they are older than this age, they are not eligible for this program. (If they are eligible for Kindergarten this school year, they are not eligible for Pre-Kindergarten.)

All Pre-Kindergarten students must be registered prior to the open registration cutoff date of March 29, 2023. If more students register than spots are available, a lottery may be necessary. All classes for Pre-K and Kindergarten are full day programs.

North Collins Senior Citizens

The North Collins Senior Citizens recently held their Christmas dinner and Annual Election. The Three Star Restaurant catered the dinner held at the North Collins Senior Center. The officers for 2023 are: Front row: Treasurer Jean Young, Secretary Margaret Kohler, President George Jablonski, Vice-president James Lint (aka Santa). Back row: Board Members: Trustees Bonnie Noto, Margaret Orrange, Chaplain Sylvia Michalski, Trustees Rita Bergholtz, Barbara Nichols, and June Karbowski. Missing is Trustee Mickey Baake. The senior club has finished its schedule of trips and activities for 2022 and looks forward to a full schedule of activities in 2023. Many of the activities are financed by a very generous backing of the Town of North Collins.

North Collins Boys Varsity Basketball Update

Last week, the boys varsity basketball team traveled to Eden to take on the Raiders. After a slow first quarter, and being down 26-9, the team never gave up and battled back before coming up a little short in a 54-49 loss. Derek Ebersole led all scorers in the game scoring 22 points. He also had 2 rebounds and 4 steals. Matt Sweet scored 13 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, dishing out 3 assists and 1 steal. Daniel Downes scored 12 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 blocks. Zach Quiter scored 2 points, had 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Asher Parnitzke grabbed 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Montana Robbins had 3 rebounds. THE NORTH COLLINS CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT has an immediate need to fill permanent & substitute positions in our Transportation Department.

Bus Driver applicants must be a minimum of 21 years of age have a good driving record , already have or be willing to obtain a CDL class “B” license with a P & S endorsement, pass a background check, physical and drug screen. (Options available for CDL class “C”- call for more information.) Free Paid Training to get your CDL provided to the right candidates. Bus Driver starting pay- $17.50 per hour. Bus Attendants must be a minimum of 19 years of age & pass a background check. Candidates for all positions must be dependable and enjoy working with and being around children. Our permanent positions involve working a split day: 6am-9am & 1:30pm-4pm (for example). Benefits include: paid health insurance, flexible spending account, paid sick & personal time, perfect attendance bonus, overtime availability, NYS Retirement Pension Plan. Our substitute positions allow you to pick work as it comes available. We have work available at many different times of the day including field trips, sports runs (from 3:45pm on) and even work at times on weekends. At the beginning of each year, many people make resolutions about the things they want to change in their lives. They vow to lose weight, eat better, exercise more, keep in touch with friends, look for a new job…

But a month into the year, many of those ideas are already abandoned. It becomes too hard to think of making those changes we had yearned for. How sad that is! Because we can change and make a different life for ourselves.

You may not be able to change the world, but in changing your own life you have an impact on others as well. If you were to monitor that impact you would see the circle widening ever greater and the transformation that started with yourself becoming a largerpool. Change yourself and you just might find your world has changed.
