#2 IB School in the UK (500–1000 student category) (small cohort)

Previously known as Ecole Jeannine Manuel UK, our school is now called Jeannine Manuel School. Although our name has changed, our mission, vision and teaching practices remain the same We also remain a part of the network of our French sister schools, Ecole Jeannine Manuel in Paris and Lille.

Curriculum & Baccalaureates

Up to the end of Middle School, we follow the French national curriculum with notable exceptions as half of all lessons are taught in English The curriculum is enriched at all levels, not only with more advanced English language and literature, but also, for example, with an inquiry-based science curriculum, a unique music programme in the Early Years and Mandarin Chinese language teaching

Year 11 students choose between two tracks, leading towards the International French Baccalaureate (BFI) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) in Year 12

Both tracks have the same common core, including mandatory IGCSEs in English Literature & Language and optional Mandarin, Latin, Spanish and German IGCSEs. Students taking the track towards the IB can also take IGCSEs in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

In Year 12, students make a final decision between the International French Baccalaureate (BFI) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), both of which are recognised as excellent qualifications by the world’s top universities

2025 Exam Results

International Baccalaureate (IB): 100% success rate with a 38 average (vs a world average of 30)

International French Baccalaureate (BFI): 100% success rate, all with honours, including 86% Summa Cum Laude (mention Très Bien), of which 42% obtained “félicitations du jury” .

Beyond the classroom

Our students are lifelong learners and we are always here to support their projects and ambitions. Each year, our students take part in a huge number of competitions across a variety of fields, including the Kangaroo Maths Competition or the Poetry by Heart Competition which has seen our pupils recite poems in Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre

We are also very proud of our students’ charitable projects, including the school-wide Run Against Hunger which takes place every year alongside a wide variety of other student-led initiatives

The vast majority of our Year 11 students take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Programme!

Alumni Stories

La philosophie de Jeannine Manuel, qui encourage les élèves à penser par eux-mêmes et à développer un esprit critique, constitue une excellente préparation pour l'avenir

-- Sixtine, BFI, Class of 2023 -St Andrews, UK

Thank you so much for all the help you have provided throughout all those years...The culture of ‘bienveillance’, positive reinforcement, was crucial in [our son ’s] development You and all professors at Jeannine Manuel embody the spirit of the founder of the school: you made [our son] a better person, a multi cultured citizen ready to live anywhere, respectful of others and other cultures

-- Parents of Pierre, Class of 2023 -NYU Stern, USA [The school] was always there for me throughout my studies. The smaller classes made learning feel so personal, and I loved how easy it was to connect with the teachers They really took the time to get to know each of us, which made school not just a place to learn, but a place where I felt supported every step of the way.

-- Arié, IB, Class of 2024 -Bocconi, Italy

We feel so fortunate that our children got to grow up at your amazing school the thing that stands out for me (and is very important to us) is that the school has a very caring culture and the kindness of the teachers fosters mutual respect.

-- Parents of Malia, Class of 2022 & Enzo, Class of 2024 -Prince’s Trust & Durham University, UK
