ECUMENICAL & CHURCH RELATIONS

Mission:

To increase our community involvement with other churches, as well as Trinity Presbytery. Represent EPC at Presbytery meetings, serve on various ministries of Presbytery and keep the Session informed of opportunities and challenges of the denomination.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2022:

Church Staff and Members served on Trinity Presbytery:

Martha Casto, Moderator; Dr. Douglass Key, Administrative Commission; Rev. Croskeys Royall, Commissioner to the Synod of South Atlantic;

Dr. Lynn Grandsire, Administrative Commission and Commissioner to General Assembly; Dr. Brad Smith, Nominating Committee; and Rev. Brian Marsh, Preparation for Ministry.

Commissioners to the Five South Carolina Presbyteries Convocation & Stated Meeting held May 21, 2022 at Presbyterian College. This meeting for the five presbyteries occurs every 5 years.

Commissioners attended the Stated Meetings of Trinity Presbytery held February 26, May 21, August 20, and November 15.

Provided Session with reports on Presbytery and significant actions.

GOALS FOR 2023:

Meet monthly to explore opportunities for our congregation to join other communities in faith, love, hope, witness, and service.

Encourage meaningful involvement in Trinity Presbytery, the Synod of South Atlantic, and the General Assembly. Keep the Session updated on the opportunities and challenges facing the denomination.

Expand our relationships in the local community, nationally and internationally with other churches.

Training elders serving on this committee on the workings of Trinity Presbytery and Synod.
