
Information Communication Technology (ICT) - Senior School Acceptable Use Policy
Please read this form carefully and discuss it with your parents. Once you have understood your responsibilities and the behaviour expected of you, please sign the form and return it to your Tutor or in the case of a new student, to our Senior School Administrator at ss.admin@dulwich-seoul.kr
ICT Vision Statement:
Enabling College students to become full participators and contributors in the ever-changing world of technology.
We seek to:
1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
We use subject knowledge, technology, teaching and learning to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
We design, develop and evaluate learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximise learning.
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
We exhibit knowledge, skills and work processes representative of innovative professionals in a global and digital society.
4. Promote Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility
We understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and communicating legal and ethical behaviour in professional practices.
5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
We continuously improve professional practice, model lifelong learning, and exhibit leadership in school and the professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources.

We expect you to:
Look after yourself
• I will ask my teacher before using my device in class and will not use my phone unless instructed.
• When in the College, I will only go on websites, use apps or programs that are applicable to my learning.
• When in the College, I will use only use technology for educational purposes and will listen to and follow advice provided by my parents and teachers regarding messaging, games and technology use.
• When in the College, I will only connect my devices to the school network unless given specific permission by the teacher. At no point will I attempt to access sites by avoiding network filtering.
• I will consider carefully the personal information I share, like my name, email address, real address, photos or video and will ask for advice if I am unsure.
• I will only send information that I would be happy for my teachers or parents to see.
• I will keep my password secret and only share it with a trusted adult.
• When communicating with the College staff, I will only use my College account and will never access an account that does not belong to me.
• If you decide to meet an online friend for the first time, you will always do so in a public place and take an adult with you.
• I will tell an adult if I find or am sent anything that is unkind, rude and/or upsets or worries me.
• I will talk with an adult if I have any concerns at all regarding technology use inside or outside of the College.
Look after others
‘Others’ can mean people, groups or organisations - even ones that you do not know. It could be someone in your class or a group - like a school.
• I will use kind words, write positive messages and stand up to bullies.
• I will not share unkind messages and will tell a trusted adult if I become aware of any.
• I will respect other people’s work and will not change it without permission or plagiarise.
• I will only use my account and will respect other people’s devices.
• I will gain other people’s permission before taking or sharing their photos/videos.
Look after property
‘Property’ means things that belong to other people, a group or me. This could be things I can touch, like an iPad, or things that have been created - like an idea, photo or piece of work.
• I will use school property in an appropriate manner and not attempt to damage or change settings in any way.
• I will keep food and drink away from all equipment.
• I will report any damage I encounter to my teacher or a member of the IT Department on the 3rd Floor.
• I will respect other people’s property. I will not look, take or change it without asking them.
• I will sign for equipment prior to borrowing, take personal responsibility for any borrowed equipment and return equipment to its correct location in the exact same state.
• I will keep my laptop under my direct supervision or store it in a safe location such as my own locker.
• I will be aware of the dangers of downloading and sharing files on the Internet.
• I will use legally obtained, authentic software and will abide by copyright law
• I will run regular scans using an installed antivirus program that is updated regularly.
• I will arrive to the College with a charger and any relevant adapters and ensure my device is fully charged at the start of each school day.

Be a responsible citizen
• I am aware I am responsible for my actions on the College network and for the contents of all storage areas and accounts belonging to me.
• I know College network resources should only be used for educational purposes.
• I am aware I am responsible for any electronic communication (for example, email, chat or posts) sent by me and for any contacts I make.
• I know all electronic information can be tracked, so I will assume everything I write is public.
• I am aware that I should not share anything that brings into disrepute the reputation of the school or causes harm to the reputation or wellbeing of staff or students
• I will respect the security of the IT systems inside the College and will in no way attempt to change, alter or infiltrate them.
• I will always consider the effect my actions have on the rest of the Dulwich College Seoul community and will not act in a manner that inconveniences or adversely affects the lives of those around me.
• I will not use College systems or devices for online gaming, gambling, internet shopping or other none- educational purposes unless I have permission to do so.
• I will not use artificial intelligence tools to falsely depict individuals in pictures or videos, including creating misleading or harmful content that could damage someone’s reputation or well-being.
• I will not use generative AI tools to produce work that is deceitful or violates the college’s academic integrity policies such as generating assignments, and I must adhere to ethical standards and respect intellectual property rights.
The College will:
• Listen and try to help if you have a problem or make a mistake
• Take an interest in the technology you use and try to help you engage in appropriate, safe and fun activities.
• Maintain a secure, encrypted wireless network for users.
• Monitor and record Internet access, in accordance with applicable laws. Such monitoring and recording will be used to verify compliance with this policy and to restrict access to undesirable content on the Internet.
• Store all messages created, sent or received over the Internet using College created email accounts. These are the property of Dulwich College Seoul and should be considered as public information and not private.
• Provide an Internet connection to all students to ensure they can access learning materials and suitable educational content. We will do our best, but this cannot be guaranteed.
• We will respect your right to privacy. However, in order to keep you safe, we may need to monitor your device and online usage.
• Staff members will only communicate with you using College accounts.
• Provide an E-Safety curriculum, educating students on best practices when using the Internet and electronic devices
