Filling the bath with liquid

According to the model, the bath should be filled with the specified type of bath fluid – see Bath fluids.

Preparation steps 1. Ensure that the mains power is disconnected

2. Ensure that the overflow tubing is connected

3. Ensure that the inner tank is free from any debris e.g. packing material

4. Use a wide neck funnel and place in a viscometer aperture

5. Carefully pour the bath liquid into the tank

6. Fill to 5mm below the top of the external window – when looking with your eye at the same level as the surface of the fluid

The final liquid height may need to be topped up at the desired temperature set-point.

NOTICE Silicone oil will expand as temperature increases. Do not overfill at room temperature Once the bath has reached its set-point, if required fill with additional liquid. .

Emptying the bath

The tank can be emptied by using a syphon “jiggle” tube or pump.
