DPWH Cebu 5th DEO now has a new head in the person of District Engineer Ma. Jannet B. Nero.
In a simple Turnover Ceremony, DE Ma Jannet B Nero was warmly welcomed by ADE Roy L dela Cruz, Section Chiefs and the employees of DPWH Cebu 5th DEO on June 23, 2023 The event was also attended by Atty. Ayaon S. Manggis, Chief, Administrative Division and Ms Lissette Therese R Sususco, Chief, HRMO of the Regional Office VII
Under and by virtue of Special Order No 132 Series of 2023 signed by DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Engr. Ma. Jannet B. Nero is reassigned as District Engineer in Cebu 5th District Engineering Office, DPWH Region VII, taking over the reigns of former DE Florida P Nuñez
Prior to the latest assignment, DE Nero was the District Engineer of Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Office, DPWH Region III

Internal Quality Audit
For the first time in the two years, the DPWHCebu 5th DEO underwent and successfully completed an internal quality audit in face-toface. This year's audit was conducted last July 18-20, 2023 by Engineer Edd Michael Angelo D. Robril, the lead auditor and Engineer Vanessa Grace T. Dolloso, the audit team member. Both auditors are from the DPWH-Regional Office X.
Unlike the two previous IQAs, the audit was conducted simultaneously by the auditors in every section, scrutinizing various documents and process in the office July to September
“Hindi kami nandito para maghanap ng mali, kundi tulungan kayo para mas mapadali ang mga processes natin office”, said the lead auditor, Engr. Robril. "The audit aimed to determine the office’s compliance to the department’s requirements for its Quality Management System and the ISO 9011:2015 standards", he added.
The audit concluded with an exit conference discussing findings and areas for improvement. Moreover, the auditors reminded all sections to maintain the good practices that the office have been doing and to continue improving, which will be overall efficiency of this office.

On August 18, 2023, DPWH-Cebu 5th DEO joins the 6th annual nationwide project of the District Engineers League of the Philippines, “Gamit Pang Eskwela, Hatid ay Saya”. The DEO distributed school supplies to the students of Secante Bag-o Elementary School and Secante Daan Elementary School. Both schools are located in the Municipality of Tudela, Cebu. Congratulations!
