s summer comes to a close, students prepare to settle back into their old routines yet a new school year means new experiences and everyone, freshmen and seniors alike are going in with high expectations. Senior year can by far be considered the most fun and stressful year for many students, with college applications and countless expenses, seniors anxiously wait to enter the last chapter of their high school lives. “I’m prepared to make some great memories this year, senior year is going to be unforgettable”, said Niki Franco, an incoming senior at Ronald Reagan/Doral Senior High. This is a mindset shared by most incoming seniors and its close that of the incoming freshmen. “I’m excited to start high school but at the same time I’m also nervous. It’s a new experience and I’m just hoping to make the best of it”, said Christian Roman, an incoming freshman who will have to attend both the Ronald Reagan/Doral Senior High South and Main campus. While many students are prepared to face certain challenges this year, whether it is a two-campus system or planning their futures, this doesn’t take away from what they hope to achieve this upcoming year. When asked what she expects of her senior year Niki Franco had 3 words to explain it perfectly…“BIGGER and better!”. A new school year always leaves a bittersweet taste with students yet the hopes of experiencing something new is what motivates many to get out of bed at 6 AM. “Waking up earlier is not going to be fun, but like I said, it’s all part of a different experience”, said Roman. As our community grows so do the expectations students place upon their future and on themselves. We say goodbye to endless summer night and hope to find exactly what we are looking for, unforgettable experiences.

Altas Expectativas
M
ientras el verano llega a su fin, los estudiantes se preparan para volver a sus viejas rutinas pero sin embargo, un nuevo año escolar significa vivir experiencias nuevas y todo el mundo, estudiantes de primer año y mayores por igual, se van con grandes expectativas. Doceavo es considerado el año más divertido y estresante para muchos estudiantes, con aplicaciones para la universidad e innumerables gastos, los estudiantes esperan ansiosamente para entrar en el último capítulo de sus vidas de la escuela secundaria. “Estoy preparada para hacer grandes recuerdos de este año, el último año va a ser inolvidable”, dijo Niki Franco, estudiante de 12o en Ronald Reagan /Doral Senior High. Esta es una actitud compartida por la mayoría de los estudiantes de doceavo y de noveno. “Estoy emocionado para empezar la secundaria, pero al mismo tiempo también estoy nervioso. Es una experiencia nueva y estoy esperando hacer lo mejor posible “, dijo Christian Roman, un estudiante de noveno, que tendrá que asistir a los dos campus de Ronald Reagan /Doral Senior High, sur y el principal. Mientras muchos estudiantes están preparados para enfrentar ciertos retos de este año, sea un sistema de dos campus o la planificación su futuro, esto no quita de lo que esperan lograr este año que viene. Cuando se le preguntó lo que ella espera de su último año, Niki Franco tenía tres palabras para explicar perfectamente ... “Más grande y mejor”. Un nuevo año escolar siempre deja un sabor agridulce con estudiantes pero la esperanza de experiencias nuevas es lo que motiva a muchos a salir de la cama a las 6 PM. “Despertar temprano no va a ser divertido, pero como he dicho, todo es parte de una experiencia diferente”, dijo Roman. A medida que nuestra comunidad crece también crecen las expectativas de los estudiantes en su futuro y sobre sí mismos. Nos despedimos de las noches sin fin del verano y esperamos encontrar exactamente lo que estamos buscando, una experiencia inolvidable.
