Ahmed Temple No. 37 Improving the Brand

Attempting to capitalize on a historic 2019 Desert Conference and Gala Day, Illustrious Potentate Theodus Baker noted that weekend’s success provided a glimpse at Ahmed Temple’s talent and potential for greatness. Using it as a guide, he challenged the Nobility to determine Ahmed Temple’s brand for the foreseeable future. “It’s past time for Ahmed Temple # 37 to advance to the next level. With your permission, I’d like to invite someone to speak to us about getting there.” said Baker. Felina Martin, Executive Director of the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence (INIE), spoke to the members of Ahmed Temple # 37 on Saturday, February 1, 2020. She made it clear that she is no stranger to Prince Hall Shrinedom, having served as a consultant for the Prince Hall Shriners Foundation’s 3rd Annual Diabetes Classic in 2011. Martin added that she is familiar with Ahmed Temple’s mission and has seen its’ work in the local community. She gave an introductory PowerPoint presentation about her organization and the benefits of membership, which proved to be informative. Among the benefits offered by INIE: • Cross-sector networking, professional mentoring, peer to peer support • Resource sharing, access to funding databases • Participation in seminars and roundtables designed to further develop Ahmed Temple • Pro Bono legal support and advice At the close of her presentation, Martin stated her organization can assist Ahmed Temple #37 reach the next level. She opened the floor to questions from the Nobility and everyone’s questions to their satisfaction. After a meaningful discussion and debate, the membership voted for full membership in the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence. 26
