Beyond the Fez: HPC Dt. Lorraine James

Contributed by HPC Lorraine James Ahmed Court No. 134 Tallahassee, Fla.

The COVID-19 crisis has devastated the entire world, and we are profoundly grateful for all the frontline workers who risk their lives to help the sick. Individuals are also heeding the call to help others in this time of trouble. One such person is HPC Lorraine James of Ahmed Court No. 134, in Tallahassee. Although James is not a frontline worker, she willingly accepted the challenge to make 140 face masks for senior citizens at Bethel Towers, an independent living facility in Tallahassee. Currently, she is in the process of making 100 more masks.

James also provides charitable services in other ways. When she discovered that the parents of her mentees did not have cable television service, James expanded her Nonprofit website to keep the students and their families informed. Also, she forwarded to them the link with helpful resources to allow them to receive services during the pandemic.
