No. 4 Texas Cavaliers River Parade Charitable Honoree Haven For Hope Sponsor:Valero Energy Corporation
The Cavaliers are honored to announce the 2022 River Parade Charitable Honoree is Haven for Hope. Founded in 2010 by the founder and chairman of NuStar Energy L.P., Mr. Bill Greehey, their mission is to offer a one-stop destination for assistance for people experiencing homelessness in San Antonio. Their programs offer hope and new beginnings. Prior to the founding of Haven for Hope, resources for people experiencing homelessness were geographically distant from each other and under many different administrations. The vision for Haven for Hope was to be more than just a shelter. Today that vision is realized and encompasses a transformational campus dedicated to meet individuals, families and children where they are and support them as they move toward self-sufficiency. They provide, coordinate and deliver an efficient system of programs addressing the root cause of homelessness by offering specific resources tailored to the needs of the individual. Haven for Hope’s budget annually is around $25 million with around 42% contributed from the private sector. On any given day there are approximately 300 children living on campus.
