St. John the Baptist Catholic Church

Original religious paintings on display.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville, although not necessarily considered one of the famous Painted Churches of Texas, is still worth a trip to see the discovered art on display - some of the finest paintings outside of Europe. All paintings are originals and produced for a church in this location by Ignaz Johann Berger (1822-1901) in the 1870s. Berger was a well-known Austrian religious artist, remembered predominantly for his genre paintings and portraits.
