Tardies When a student misses the beginning of class, it disrupts the learning process of both the student and others. Tardies are kept on record in each class throughout the semester. The tardy count resets to zero at the conclusion of each semester. Secondary students later than 15 minutes to class will be counted absent for that class. There are 2 types of tardies:
● ●
Unexcused Tardy- Student is late and the parent is either unaware of it or it is not cleared through the school office. Excused Tardy- Tardy as a result of a staff member’s approval and written pass. This must be communicated the day of the tardy.
Consequences for Unexcused Tardies 1-2 = Warning 3+ = Disciplinary Referral
Hall Passes Students are not permitted in the corridors during class periods unless an instructor accompanies them or they have a hall pass from a staff member. Students shall not misuse the "hall pass" privilege by wandering freely around the corridors. A student out of class for any reason using a hall pass shall go directly to their destination, conduct their business, and promptly return to their classroom.
Student Engagement Extracurricular Activities A wide range of activities is available for students to become influential members of the TPCS community. We have activities that are long and/or short-term commitments. As representatives of the school, students who participate in extracurricular activities do so with the understanding that it is a privilege, and, as such, can be forfeited at the discretion of the administration or coach by a violation of the student code of conduct and lack of good academic standing. Any student who is serving an Out of School Suspension may not attend Extracurricular Activities on the days of their suspension.
Athletic and Fine Arts Eligibility Academics: A student may not:
Training scholars. Making disciples. Graduating leaders.
