Renovations, Upgrades & Future Plans Ahead

Happy New Year! As we step into 2024, there is much to look forward to regarding our golf and grounds operations.

Gold Course Renovation Project Our dedicated team, in collaboration with Chet Williams and Sanders Golf, has been hard at work on the Gold Course Renovation Project and we're excited to unveil these comprehensive improvements in the coming months. We are tentatively planning for a re-opening date sometime in January or February that will consist of limited tee times and restrictive cart rules. These measures will be in place to ensure that golfer traffic does not negatively impact the new grass from tee to green. Although the course will require the majority of next year to mature fully and for construction-related scars to heal, we believe the wait will be well worth it.

Infrastructure Upgrades for Continued Improvement Integral to the Gold Course Renovation Project are major infrastructure upgrades. These enhancements not only contribute to the current improvements but also lay the groundwork for ongoing enhancements throughout 2024 and beyond. The investment ensures that we can continually raise the bar for our golf courses.

Blue Course Performance and Future Plans During the Gold Course closure, the Blue Course admirably accommodated increased play. This year, we will work to promote recovery and continue to focus on short-term playability improvements. At the same time, we are actively working with Chet Williams on the Blue Course Master Plan, which will incorporate critical infrastructure upgrades similar to those completed on the Gold Course. With the renovated Gold course opening you will want to be prepared to have only the best in your golf bag this year! “In with the new out with the old!” Take advantage of fitting days on the calendar or make an appointment with the pro shop to get fitted with our many new club arrivals. Titleist is launching the new SM10 wedges. TaylorMade is releasing a new Driver, The Qi10. Just to name a few.

Spring is just around the corner and all golfers are likely getting excited about another golf season. This is a good time of year to make some goals for yourself for the 2024 year of golf. We typically don’t get better or get good at anything by accident. All of you that have been successful in business or anything else in life likely had a plan to achieve your goals. Determine what your golf goals are for the year and develop a plan to achieve them. It could be hitting more fairways or greens, improving your short game, lowering your handicap to a specific number, hitting the ball farther, better course

management, making sure your equipment is helping you and not holding you back, better fitness for power and injury prevention, etc.

Contact me or any of our other professionals on staff if you want or need any help developing a plan and/or working on achieving your goals.

Have you checked your grips lately? The shop offers many varieties with the most current grips on the market. We do offer same day service to re-grip any or all your clubs. We are excited for a new year and lots of golf!

fitness February is Heart Health Awareness Month

Take these steps to lower your risk of heart disease.

1.

Don't smoke or use tobacco One of the best things you can do for your heart is to stop smoking or using smoke less tobacco. Even if you're not a smoker, be sure to stay away from secondhand smoke.

2.

Get moving: Aim for at least 30 minutes of activity daily Regular, daily physical activity can lower the risk of heart disease. Physical activity helps control your weight. It also lowers the chances of getting other conditions that may put a strain on the heart. These include high blood pressure, high choles- terol and type 2 diabetes.

3.

Eat a heart-healthy diet A healthy diet can help protect the heart, improve blood pressure and cholesterol, and lower the risk of type 2 diabetes. A heart-healthy eating plan includes:

• Vegetables and fruits.

• Beans or other legumes.

• Lean meats and fish.

• Low-fat or fat-free dairy foods.

• Whole grains.

• Healthy fats such as olive oil and avocado

4.

Maintain a healthy weight Being overweight, especially around the middle of the body, raises the risk of heart disease. Extra weight can lead to conditions that raise the chances of gettinh heart disease. These conditions includ high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes.

Waist circumference also can be a useful tool to measure how much belly fat you have. The risk of heart disease is higher if the waist measurement is greater than: • 40 inches (101.6 centimeters, or cm) for men.

• 35 inches (88.9 cm) for women.

5.

Get quality sleep People who don't get enough sleep have a higher risk of obesity, high blood pressure, heart attack, diabetes and depression.

Most adults need at least seven hours of sleep each night. Children usually need more.

For example, they may overeat, drink or smoke. Healthy tactics include physical activity, relaxation exercises, mindfulness, yoga and meditation.
