FAIR Weather

September in St. Louis is a great time for art, music, and good food all offered at the same location. Take your pick of the art fairs and festivals held throughout the metro area. A few art fairs to idle away some time on a weekend afternoon are the St. Louis Art Fair in Clayton, Art Outside at Schlafly’s in Maplewood, St. Louis Hills Art in the Park, and the Historic Shaw Art Fair.

St. Louis Art Fair Downtown Clayton

The 18th annual Saint Louis Art Fair, a nationally juried fine art and fine craft show, is held in the streets of Clayton Friday, September 9th through Sunday, September 11th. The St. Louis Art Fair is consistently ranked one of the nation’s top fine art fairs. Each year the Saint Louis Art Fair attracts over 150,000 art enthusiasts. The fair also includes live entertainment on several stages and great food.

Art in the Park

Art in the Park returns to Francis Park in the Heart of St. Louis Hills on Sunday, September 25th. Visitors will be treated to a combination of art, live bands, delicious food, a classic car show, vintage baseball game, and hands-on art projects. Fun events are planned for all ages. Schlafly’s Art Outside was established in 2004 as an alternative juried art fair featuring affordable art from artists based in the St. Louis area. The fair’s mission is to increase public knowledge and appreciation for the local art scene by creating opportunities that connect artists, musicians, performers, and the community. From September 9 thru September 11 you can support local artists, hear some good music, and drink and eat at Art Outside. Located at the Schlafly’s Bottleworks in Maplewood at 7260 Southwest Ave at Manchester.

Historic Shaw Art Fair

On October 1 and 2 you can wander through beautiful Flora Place at Tower Grove Avenue in the Shaw neighborhood surrounded by fine arts of all genres from jewelry to painting and mixedmedia to sculpture.
