DP World reports Strong 1H2021 Financial Results D U B A I : D P Wo r l d Limited has announced strong financial results for the six months to 30 June 2021 with EBITDA growing 18.2% year-on-year.

Results Highlights : Revenue of $4,945 million (Revenue growth of 21.3% on reported basis) • Revenue growth of 21.3% supported by acquisitions and strong growth in India, Australia, and UK. • Like-for-like revenue increased by 9.0%.

Adjusted EBITDA of $1,813 million and adjusted EBITDA margin of 36.7% • Adjusted EBITDA increased 18.2%, and EBITDA margin for the half-year stood at 36.7%. Like-for-like adjusted EBITDA margin of 38.5%.

SAMI and Bahri Ink Agreement to Support Defense Logistics Localization RIYADH: In line with its commitment to develop the capabilities and support the localization of Saudi Arabia’s militar y industries sector, Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), signed a logistics services agreement with Bahri, a global leader in logistics and transportation.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bahri will provide wide-ranging internal and external logistics services, including sea, air, and land transport, as well as freight services to the various business units and affiliated companies of SAMI. The agreement was signed at the headquarters of SAMI in Riyadh by Eng. Walid Abukhaled, the CEO of SAMI, and Eng. Abdullah Aldubaikhi, the CEO of Bahri.

Solution on MEIS, SEIS Export JSW Infra plans Rs 10k-cr capex schemes arrears by Sept by 2025, including investment 1st week : Commerce Secretary in Logistics NEW DELHI: The Government will come out with a solution on pending dues of exporters under the two incentive schemes, MEIS and SEIS, by the first week of September, a top official said on Tuesday. Exporters of goods and services used to avail benefits under the Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS), and the Services Export from India Scheme (SEIS). The MEIS ended last year.

Commerce Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam said that the arrears are there for MEIS (two years), SEIS (one year) and target plus scheme. “It is a pretty large amount. We are working very closely with Finance (ministry). Give us 15 days. By first week of September, we will come out with a solution to both the arrears of MEIS and SEIS,” he told reporters. Cont’d. MUMBAI: Moving from pure captive cargo player to a sizable thirdparty port business, JSW Infrastructure plans a capex of Rs 10,000 crore by 2025 which will also include investments in logistics. Logistics investment is a natural progression to the port business to strengthen hinterland connectivity.

“We have been accessing opportunities in rail connectivity since the last 6-8 months. We could invest in rakes, in the last-mile as it continues to be a huge challenge and this would be for both our west as well as east coast operations,” Mr. Arun Maheshwari, Joint MD and CEO at JSW Infrastructure was quoted as saying recently.

DP World reports Strong 1H2021 Financial Results

JSW Infra plans Rs 10k-cr capex by 2025, including investment in Logistics Cont’d. from Pg. 3 “Through this rail connectivity we are planning to have dedicated rakes, or leased rakes to have volumes increased for us as hinterland connectivity will improve,” said Maheshwari.

Part of JSW Group, JSW Infrastructure currently has a capacity of 120 million tonne with its third-party cargo growing over the last few years.

“About two years back our third party cargo was 8-10 percent of total cargo JSW Infrastructure handled which went close to 25 percent in FY21 and probably this fiscal we will be at 30 percent.

We are targeting 40 percent third-party cargo by 2024,” Maheshwari said.

The company had started off its port operations as a support industry for its group companies mainly JSW Steel and JSW Energy. However, over the years, it has moved towards becoming a business vertical which later progressed to dedicated cargo handling from captive cargo and now is focused on being a strong third-party cargo handling company.

“The third party business is growing because we are now more strategically located than before where we were only located close to our plants for captive cargo handling purposes,” he added.

At present the company operates seven terminals and two ports—Dharamtar and Jaigad. Besides, two more terminals—Paradip for coal and Mangalore for containers are under construction.

The company is looking to add more capacity to touch 200 million tonne over next three years and is of the view that container and liquid would make a stronger presence in the portfolio as bulk capacity is sizable already.

“For any maturing economy like India, container cargo capacity looks promising and is a long term bet.

Also we have something in the offing in the liquid bulk capacity but it cannot be disclosed at present,” said Maheshwari.

With capex plans strong, JSW Infrastructure has managed to escape the heat from the ongoing pandemic.

“We were not impacted by the pandemic mainly because for logistics we rely on rails and sea routes for transportation and it was the truck supply chain which took a hit during the pandemic.

Also, it was the container cargo that was hit badly, where we did not have much presence,” said Maheshwari.

The company currently carries a debt close to $500 million and aims to make its capacity expansion via internal accruals, its cash available and partly via debt.

APM Terminals – 20 Years of lifting Global Trade THE HAGUE: In 2021, APM Ter minals c e l e b r a t e s i t s 20th anniversary as an independent business within A.P. Moller - Maersk.

While reflecting on those eventful two decades under its own brand, the company looks into the future and makes bold steps on its transformation journey.

On February 1st, 2001, an independent business unit was formed within A.P. Moller - Maersk to solely focus on terminal operations and have the ability to service third-party carriers.

On June 25th the same year, the APM Terminals brand came into existence, marking the birth of an organisation that one year into its operations would already have a stake in 30 ports and terminals, annual throughput of 15 million TEU and employ 7,000 people.

Fast forward to 2021, APM Terminals is the third largest terminal operator globally, playing a key role in ensuring undisrupted supply chains, with continuous focus on safety, operational per for mance and productivity to better serve its shipping and landside customers. Present in 42 countries with 75 terminals and with 22,000 employees around the world, the company is also embracing technology and new digital solutions in an industry often perceived as analogue and traditional.

Safer, Better, Bigger It is with customers – and how best to serve them in the years to come – in mind, that APM Terminals embarked a few years ago on its transformation journey to safeguard and strengthen its position and to prepare for the future.

“Back in 2017, we launched the strategy of being the best-in-class terminal operator to strengthen our foundation, improve performance in the short term and lay the groundwork for our long-term aspirations,” explains Morten Engelstoft, APM Terminals CEO. “This work has certainly set us on the right path, and we are now well-positioned to refine our strategy by introducing the idea of ‘Safer, Better, Bigger’.”

The “Safer” component reflects APM Terminals’ commitment to protecting its people from harm, while creating a safety culture where leaders and frontline staff are deeply involved in understanding the work done and the risks involved, but more importantly – what they can do together to make it safer. As such, it is an area where no compromise is allowed.

“Better” means that APM Terminals will continue to build on the way it serves its customers and focus on improving financial performance, with the Way of Working playing a key role as a “machine” of continuous improvement in all aspects. Some other key elements of this pillar include a step-change in the approach to terminal automation, better asset management and additional technology and digital-enabled solutions for customers.

Finally, “Bigger” is APM Terminals’ licence to grow its business again, but in a way that allows it to successfully execute on its plans and do so with attractive returns.

2020 already marked some milestone developments aimed at future growth, like formal steps towards port expansion in Poti (Georgia), ramping up the terminal in Tema, Ghana, additional berths in Yokohama (Japan) and a ground-breaking ceremony for the new joint venture terminal in Cote d’Ivoire, expected to be operational at the end of 2021. APM Terminals also attracted new shipping lines and their liner services to its facilities and

continued to upgrade its equipment fleet and increase operational capabilities around the world. In early 2021 the new terminal in Kalundborg, Denmark became operational and in June 2021, APM terminals, together with its local Croatian partner Enna, was awarded the concession for a new container terminal in Rijeka, Croatia (pending regulatory approvals).

At the heart of Global Trade “APM Terminals plays a vital role, not only in the global supply chain, but also in local economies where we operate. Ports enable trade and thereby the lives of the millions of people who make and use the products that pass through our 75 ports and terminals,” shares Keith Svendsen, Chief Operating Ofcer at APM Terminals.

This has become ever more apparent since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, when social activity around the world slowed down, while the need for undisrupted cargo flows did not stop. To meet those needs, tens of thousands of people at APM Terminals show up at work every day, pick up their uniforms and protective gears and do their jobs with passion, commitment and enthusiasm.

“We are exceptionally proud of all these colleagues around the world, as we keep the world moving and deliver on our promises to our customers and the society,” comments Morten Engelstoft.

Powered by technology “Technology will play a big part in our transformation going forward, as it will help us create better value for our customers and improve efficiency in our terminals”, says Keith Svendsen.

This is coupled with a new, modular approach to automation, as a way to create a safer workplace and better use the large amount of data that becomes increasingly available. The modular approach will mean a move away from an end-to-end automation to targeting specific pieces of automation to operational areas and processes where there is greatest potential for terminal efficiency, positive customer outcomes, increased safety for the people and other improvement opportunities. In addition, smart use of technology and automation also helps make terminals more environmentally friendly.

“Every brain in the game” All these milestones are enabled by an ongoing cultural transformation, with strong focus on agility, empowerment, data-driven decision making and the continuous improvement mindset, embodied by the APM Terminals Way of Working.

Consignees are also requested to note that carrier and / or their agents are not bound to send individual Cargo Arrival Notice (CAN) regarding the arrival of the vessel or goods. Incase of Perishable goods, if not cleared within 72 hours the cargo may be listed for auction at the sole discretion of the Customs Authorities, with all costs, risks and responsibility on the consignee. As per Indian Customs Regulations any / all containers / lying uncleared for more than 30 days are listed for the auction under Sec. 48 of Indian Customs Act 1962 under notice to Consignee by the Custodian, as per address stated in their respective Bill of Lading. Centre Notifies RoDTEP Scheme Guidelines and Rates • Scheme to boost our exports & compe veness • Sectors like Marine, Agriculture, Leather, Gems & Jewellery, Automobile, Plas cs, Electrical / Electronics, Machinery get the benefits of Scheme • Rates of RoDTEP to cover 8555 tariff lines NEW DELHI: Centre recently notified RoDTEP Scheme Guidelines and Rates (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products). The scheme for zero rating of exports will boost our exports & competitiveness in the global markets .The rates of RoDTEP will cover 8555 tariff lines.

It may be noted that Government is leaving no stone unturned to support domestic industry and make it more competitive in the inter national markets. Export centric industries are being reformed and introduced to better mechanisms so as to increase their competitiveness, boost exports, generate employment and contribute to the overall economy. This will go a long way in achieving our vision of building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) is one such reform, based on the globally accepted principle that taxes and duties should not be exported, and taxes and

levies borne on the exported products should be either exempted or remitted to exporters.

Scheme’s objective is to refund, currently un-refunded: • Duties/ taxes/ levies, at the Central, State & local level, borne on the exported product, including prior stage cumulative indirect taxes on goods & services used in production of the exported product, and • Such indirect Duties/ taxes/ levies in respect of distribution of exported products.

It may be noted that rebate under the Scheme shall not be available in respect of duties and taxes already exempted or remitted or credited.

RoDTEP is going to give a boost to Indian exports by providing a level playing field to domestic industry abroad.

RoDTEP support will be available to eligible exporters at a notified rate as a percentage of Freight On Board (FOB)

value. Rebate on certain export products will also be subject to value cap per unit of the exported product.

Scheme is to be implemented by Customs through a simplified IT System. Rebate will be issued in the form of a transferable duty credit/ electronic scrip (e-scrip) which will be maintained in an electronic ledger by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).

Identified export sectors and rates under RoDTEP cover 8555 tariff lines in addition to similar support being extended to apparel and made-ups exports under RoSCTL scheme of Ministry of Textiles.

Employment Oriented Sectors like Marine, Agriculture, Leather, Gems & Jewellery etc. are covered under the Scheme. Other sectors like Automobile, Plastics, Electrical / Electronics, Machinery etc. also get support. The entire valve chain of textiles also gets covered through RoDTEP & RoSCTL.

RoDTEP rates to give predictability, stability and liquidity to Indian Exports: FIEO N E W D E L H I : We l c o m i n g t h e announcement of the Remission of Duties a n d Ta x e s o n E x p o r t e d P r o d u c t s (RoDTEP) rates for the merchandise sector, Dr A Sakthivel, President, FIEO said that the much-awaited rates will help in easing the liquidity of the exporters, ensuring predictability and stability thus helping competitiveness of exports over a long-time horizon. He said that he expects the rates are quickly uploaded in the system so that exporters may generate their scrips instantly for utilizing the same either for duty free imports or transferring it to increase their cash flow. FIEO said that RoDTEP rates, which provides zero rebating of exports, are WTO compatible and thus will continue for long time until all the products & services are brought within the ambit of GST and embedded incidence is completely neutralized. The RoDTEP coupled with GST refund and

Duty Drawback ensure that our export products do not contain any incidence of taxes and duties, added President, FIEO. Hailing the decision of the Government to extend the RoDTEP coverage to Advance Authorisation/DFIA holders, EOU and SEZ units from a date to be notified later, President FIEO urged the Government to also extend them the benefits from 1st January, 2021. He also pleaded for coverage of various sectors such as Pharma, Organic & Inorganic chemicals, Article of Iron & Steel and Iron & Steel under RoDTEP immediately with effect from 1st January, 2021.

Explaining about the low rates for many sectors, Dr Sakthivel said that since the rates are fixed on the basis of the data furnished by the industry, which was also affected due to the pandemic, the rates may be reviewed if more comprehensive and updated data is furnished by the

industry. Moreover, there is a provision for an annual review of the rates factoring the changes in the taxes & duties in respect of parameters based on which such rates are fixed.

Dr Sakthivel thanked the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Commerce & Industry and Textiles Minister and the Finance Minister for providing RoDTEP support to exporters so as to impart competitiveness to exports more so at a time when exports growth is moving in northward direction offsetting the pandemic.

President, FIEO said that exports are on course to achieve US$ 400 Bn in the current fiscal but logistics challenges particularly unavailability of containers, shut out by shipping lines and high freights pose a serious challenge. He requested the Government to take suitable measures so that these hiccups can be overcome.

RoDTEP rates to give liquidity, boost exports: India Inc NEW DELHI: India Inc has said the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products rates will help in easing the liquidity and enhance the competitiveness of domestic exporters, and pitched for including other sectors like steel, chemicals and pharma in the scheme.

Council for Leather Exports (CLE) Chairman Sanjay Leekha said that announcement of rates will boost export growth in the leather and footwear sector.

“A target of USD 5.9 billion has been set for leather and leather manufactures for 2021-22. Going by the current export

trends, our industry is confident of achieving this target,” Leekha said.

Tanushree Roy, Director- Indirect Tax, Nangia Andersen LLP, said that being a successor to the MEIS (merchandise export from India scheme), it is expected that the RoDTEP Scheme would help in boosting India’s exports significantly.

Sharing similar views, Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII said that this would help the exporters to factor in the rates while finalising new orders and contracts and would go a long way in further boosting the exports of the country.

“Going forward, this scheme will make the Indian exporters more costcompetitive and create a level playing field for them in the international market,” he said.

PHDCCI President Sanjay Aggarwal expressed hope that in future these rates will be revised to reflect the actual duty and taxes suffered by the industry and more and more sectors would be covered.

“Long-awaited RoDTEP rates and pending refunds were urgently needed as it will make it easier for exporters to calculate their costs and inputs,” he said.

Solution on MEIS, SEIS export schemes arrears

He said that pending payments would probably be staggered, “but (we will) stagger it in away that people (exporters) can encash it early ”.

Exporters have time and again demanded for early release of the pending dues under these schemes.

The secretary also said that Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) is going to be a

flagship scheme for the ministry for promoting exports.

“There will be one or two other schemes which are in the pipeline which will be supporting exports. In the coming few weeks, we will be announcing them,” he said. Elaborating about the benefits under RoDTEP, he said that the MEIS at its peak was covering 7,900 products, but the RoDTEP is covering 8,555 lines plus

three chapters under the RoSCTL of textiles. He added that the government is working to resolve all issues of exporters including related to logistics and others.

“Systematically, the government is approaching to all the problems,” he said. When asked whether, third party opinion has been taken on the RoDTEP, Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Amit Yadav said, “We have taken a legal opinion on this.”

Exports stood at $7.1 bn in second week of August NEW DELHI: India’s merchandise exports stood at $7.1 billion in the week ended 14 August from $7.4 billion in the previous week, as per preliminary data released by the Commerce Ministry.

While engineering exports and shipment of gems and jewellery helped, export recovery slowed down due to a fall in export of petroleum products, iron ore, and leather items. Merchandise imports increased to $10.8 billion from $10.5 billion, leading to a trade deficit of $3.7 billion during the week, the data showed. Imports of gold, crude oil and precious stones rose during the week

while silver and transport equipment imports declined.

India had exported a record $35.4 billion worth of goods in July, driven by rapid economic recovery in key western markets, revised data from the commerce ministry showed. Merchandise imports had surged to $46.4 billion, the secondhighest in history, expanding India’s trade deficit to $11 billion.

The government has set a merchandise exports target of $400 billion for FY22 and $1 trillion in the next five years. With services exports target at $500 billion, India hopes to be a

significant player in world trade in the next five years, with $1.5 trillion in combined exports.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) last month projected global trade to grow at 9.7% in 2021 after contracting 8.3% in 2020. “The merchandise trade recovery is set to broaden after being initially concentrated in pandemicrelated purchases, consumer durables, and medical equipment. Services trade is expected to recover more slowly, consistent with subdued cross-border travel until the virus transmission declines to low levels,” it said.

Goods Barometer hits record high, conrming strength of Global Trade recovery : WTO GENEVA: Global merchandise trade is continuing its robust recover y from the shock of the COVID1 9 p a n d e m i c according to the WTO’s Goods Trade Barometer, which hit a record high in its latest reading issued on 18 August.

The rise in the barometer reflects both the strength of current trade expansion and the depth of the pandemic-induced shock in 2020. It is notable that, while still well above trend, the index has started to rise at a decreasing rate, which could presage a peaking of upward momentum in trade.

All of the barometer's component indices were above trend in the latest month, illustrating the broad-based nature of the recovery. Indices for air freight (114.0), container shipping (110.8) and raw materials (104.7) in particular continued to rise, signalling faster than average trade growth.

The automotive products index (106.6) also rose despite the fact that car production and sales fell in July in some countries due to a shortage of

semiconductors (the rise can be explained by smoothing of the underlying data). This shortage is also reflected in a small decline in the electronic components index (112.4).

The forward-looking new export orders index (109.3) has slowed more d e f i n i t i v e l y, p r o v i d i n g a f u r t h e r indication that the pace of recovery is likely to decelerate in the near term.

The rise in the air freight index reflects a rebound in air transport due to the easing pandemic-related travel restrictions in some (mainly developed) countries. The index could turn down again suddenly if the spread of COVID19 variants forces the re-imposition of restrictions.

The latest barometer reading is broadly consistent with the WTO's most recent trade forecast of 31 March, which foresaw an 8% increase in the volume of world merchandise trade in 2021 following a 5.3% drop in 2020.

Global goods trade has grown steadily since it registered a sharp decline in the second quarter of 2020 during the early days of the pandemic.

The volume of merchandise trade was up 5.7% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2021, the largest jump since the 5.8% rise in third quarter of 2011. The latest barometer reading suggests that goods trade will see an even larger year-onyear increase in the second quarter once trade volume data for that period are available.

The outlook for world trade continues to be overshadowed by downside risks, including regional disparities, continued weakness in services trade, and lagging vaccination timetables, particularly in poor countries. COVID -19 continues to pose the greatest threat to the outlook for trade, as new waves of infection could easily undermine the recovery.

Global economy to grow 5.3 % in 2021, vaccine-privileged economies enjoy respite: D&B report MUMBAI: The global economy will rebound strongly in 2021 at 5.3 per cent following the sharp Covid-19-induced contraction of 3.8 per cent in 2020. The growth will be even stronger than the recovery in 2011 after the global financial crash, said Dun and Bradstreet (D&B) India’s Country Risk and the Global Outlook report.

“Consumer and business sentiment indicators have recovered in countries with advanced vaccination programmes, and economic prospects are diverging sharply along the lines of vaccination rates and fiscal policy capacity,” said the research and advisory firm’s Global Chief Economist Arun Singh.

The report said that the divergence in vaccination programmes between advanced and emerging economies is

reflecting in similarly diverging growth prospects.

While 40 per cent of the population in advanced countries has been fully vaccinated, the vaccination coverage is just 11 per cent in emerging economies.

Despite the strong growth seen in recent quarters, Dun and Bradstreet is concerned that the withdrawal of fiscal and monetary supports – including of furlough schemes (which will see household spending curtailed) – will start putting pressure on business’ cash flows and balance sheets among vulnerable small and medium enterprises (SMEs), even in economies that have secured hope of relief from the coronavirus.

After the lull in bankruptcies in 2020, this will lead to a deterioration in payments performance and an increase

in bankruptcies in many of the vulnerable SME sectors, with services sector bankruptcies in the US already having hit 2019 totals for 2021 by May, according to Dun & Bradstreet.

“In price-adjusted terms, domestic demand, a way to gauge economic activity without the addition from exports, leapt 13.8 per cent year-overyear (y/y) in the US, 20.4 per cent y/y in Spain, and 8.9 per cent y/y in Hong Kong in Q2 2021. However, the average y/y growth taken over the two past years was still weaker than the pre-pandemic trend in all cases,” it said.

The report noted that only in a very few economies has the boost from international trade in goods in high demand during the pandemic allowed output to exceed likely pre-pandemic trends, and then only in manufacturing.

India likely to withdraw sugar export subsidies from new season NEW DELHI: India is expected to withdraw sugar export subsidies from the new season beginning October as a sharp rise in global prices makes it easier for Indian mills to sell the sweetener on the world market, a top government official said recently.

"The government is not considering any subsidy at the moment for next year," Sudhanshu Pandey, the most senior civil servant at the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, was quoted as saying.

"Under current circumstances, as we see the scenario, there appears to be no need to have the support of the subsidy. If exports can happen on their own, then it's also better for the global market that no subsidy is provided," he said.

India, the world's biggest sugar producer after Brazil, incentivised overseas sales for three years in a row, helping New Delhi emerge as a significant, stable exporter of the commodity.

Rival suppliers have often opposed

India's sugar export subsidies. After protests from Brazil, Australia, and G u a t e m a l a , t h e Wo r l d Tr a d e Organization (WTO) in 2019 decided to set up panels to rule on complaints against India's export subsidies for sugar.

India has maintained that its sugar export subsidies do not violate WTO rules.

"The demand for Indian sugar is going to be higher, so (global) prices are expected to firm up. There may be no requirement of subsidy," Pandey said.

Taliban stop exports, imports from India: FIEO NEW DELHI: The Fe d e r a t i o n o f I n d i a n Export Organisation (FIEO) on Wednesday said t h e Ta l i b a n — w h o o n Sunday seized control of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul after over two decades again—have stopped all imports and exports with India.

Dr Ajay Sahai, Director General of FIEO said the Taliban have stopped the movement of cargo through the transit routes of Pakistan, thereby stopping exports, imports from the country. “ We k e e p a c l o s e w a t c h o n

developments in Afghanistan. Imports from there come through the transit route of Pakistan. As of now, the Taliban has stopped the movement of cargo to Pakistan, so virtually imports have stopped,” Sahai said. The Director General of FIEO said India is not only one of the largest trade partners of Afghanistan but also having a sizeable investment in the country. There are 400-odd projects, some of which are currently going on, he added.

“In fact, we are one of the largest partners of Afghanistan and our exports to Afghanistan are worth around $835 million for 2021. We imported goods

worth around $510 Million. But besides the trade, we have a sizeable investment in Afghanistan. We have invested around $3 billion in Afghanistan and there are 400-odd projects in Afghanistan some of which are currently going on,” Sahai said.

Sahai further said currently, India exports sugar, phar maceuticals, apparel, tea, coffee, spices and transmission towers to Afghanistan.

The imports are related and largely dependent on dry fruits. India also imports a little gum and onions from the country, he added.

As per Indian Customs Regulations any / all containers / lying uncleared for more than 30 days are listed for the auction under Sec. 48 of Indian Customs Act 1962 under notice to Consignee by the Custodian, as per address stated in their respective Bill of Lading. The same will be auctioned or destuffed without any further information / notice to the consignee. However the Line reserves their right to recover / claim all cost or charges on such shipments from the consignee.

All import payments are to be made via RTGS/NEFT/IMPS in favour of M/s. Hamburg Sud India Private Limited.

Consignees are requested to send their Delivery Order request through Odex for all import shipments delivered at Nhava Sheva during the counter timings 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. OB/L can be submitted at one of the CMS counters – 1) New Maersk CFS counter 2) Maersk Andheri CMS counter 3) Maersk Fort CMS counter.

SAMI and Bahri Ink Agreement to Support Defense Logistics Localization Cont’d. from Pg. 3

The contract includes the provision of complete door-to-door logistics and transportation services to facilitate the smooth execution of the projects and programs of SAMI and its affiliates, besides supporting the localization of defense logistics.

Commenting on the agreement, Eng. Walid Abukhaled, CEO of SAMI, said: “We are delighted as the national defense champion to enter into an agreement with Bahri, the national shipping carrier, to meet our growing logistics requirements.

The agreement demonstrates the Kingdom’s dynamic efforts to develop its military industries and logistics sectors.

The shared objectives of SAMI and Bahri in relation to Vision 2030 will have a major impact on the synergies within the Kingdom’s defense ecosystem. Moreover, this achievement is consistent with PIF’s efforts through SAMI to build strategic partnerships.”

Eng. Abdullah Aldubaikhi, CEO of Bahri, said: “Bahri is proud to be contracted by SAMI and pleased to support their defense industry localization programs. We are honored that our contributions are aimed at ensuring Saudi Arabia’s security, especially in our role as the exclusive logistics provider for the Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior as well as the Presidency of State Security and all its divisions. Furthermore, this agreement

reaffirms our commitment to strengthening leading Saudi entities operating in the public and private sectors by providing them world-class logistics services, in line with the Vision 2030 objectives that aim to transform the Kingdom into a global logistics hub and a thriving investment destination.”

Under the agreement, SAMI’s five business divisions, as well as its affiliates, including the Advanced Electronics Company (AEC), Aircraft Accessories and Components Company (AACC), SAMINavantia, SAMI L3Harris, and SAMI CMI, will be the beneficiaries of Bahri’s logistics services. Though the agreement presently covers the Saudi market, the two companies are working to expand its scope to include the global defense and logistics sector in the future.
