Smart Enforcement App for Trucks to reduce compliance Logistics costs : Commerce Ministry Special Secretary, Logis cs, Shri Pawan Agarwal said reduced compliance burden to reduce transporta on costs quite significantly NEW DELHI: On an average, a truck in India covers 50,000-60,000 km a year, compared to over 300,000 km in advanced nations such as the United States. One of the key reasons is delays due to random stoppages for physical checking of vehicles and verification of documents etc. While GST has helped improve the situation, there is a long way to go to reach the advanced country levels. There are over 60 different instances of potential violations of various rules and compliances that enforcement agencies need to watch out for. Govt to bring Inland Vessel Bill: Mansukh Mandaviya NEW DELHI: Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the government will introduce the Inland Vessel Bill in Parliament to ensure safe transportation and trade through inland waters. The bill also envisages bringing uniformity in the application of the law relating to inland waterways and navigation within the country. India's exports up 46% to 14 bn during June 1-14 NEW DELHI: India's exports rose by 46.43 per cent to $14.06 billion during June 1-14 on account of healthy growth in shipments in sectors such as engineering, gems and jewellery and petroleum products, according to preliminary data of the Commerce Ministry. Imports too rose by 98.33 per cent to $19.59 billion during the period, the data showed.
