NEW DELHI: The new Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), which will come with a vision statement that will set the road-map for future export growth, is set to be announced by the month-end,but a decisionon itsduration—whether full-term, mid-term or even shorter—is yet to be taken, sourcestrackingthematterhavesaid.Withaslowdowninexportgrowthregistered in the last few months, the Government has to be careful about fixing an export target as well. India’s exports touched an all-time high of $422 billion in 2021-22, posting a growth of 44 per cent over the previous year. In 2022–23, the Ministry has a target of crossing $450 billion in goods exports, although internally efforts are being made to touch $470billion, CommerceSecretaryBVRSubhrahmanyam recentlysaid.

Govt targets crossing $450 billion in Goods Export in FY 23 : Commerce Secretary
NEW DELHI: The target of developing 300 Gati Shakti Terminals within the next five years is doable and will boost the cargo movement on the Indian Railway network, bringing down overall logistics cost of the Country said Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw. According to sources, the New Railway Land Policy will result in incremental annual revenue of Rs 30,000 crore afterfiveyearstothenationaltransporter.TheUnionCabinetrecentlyhadapproved a policy on long term leasing of Railways Land. The revised policy provided for long term leasing of railway land for cargo related activities for up-to 35 years at 1.5% of market value of land per annum. It was also decided that there will be a 6% increment in the Land Leasing Fee (LLF) value payabletotheIndianRailways.Undertheearlierpolicy,railway land could be leased byprivateplayersjustforfiveyears. MUMBAI: India’s foreign exchange reserves dropped by $8 billion to $553.11 billion as of the week ended September 2, the lowest since October said9,2020,theReserveBankofIndia(RBI)onSeptember9.
Forex reserves falls $ 8 bn to $ 553.11 bn; lowest in 2 years
The $8 billion decline in reserves was the most since July 8. The reserves stood at $561.05 billion in the prior week, or in the week ended August 26 and have fallen for five consecutiveweeks.
The decline in reserves was led by a drop in foreign currency assets to from$38.30in$492.12billion,downfrom$498.65billionthepriorweek.GoldassetsalsofelltobillionasonSeptember2,down$39.64billionintheweekprior.
“This time the FTP will be about trade facilitation, reducing costs, IT-enablement, promotion of e-commerce and pushing district, reducing costs, IT-enablement, promotion of e-commerce and pushing district export hubs.
