Miss Pleasant Grove Miss Pleasant Grove 2019/2020: Brooklin Allen 2019 Miss Pleasant Grove Brooklin Allen will continue to serve the community through 2020 and until the 2021 Miss Pleasant Grove competition following cancellation of the 2020 Miss Pleasant Grove, Miss Utah and Miss America competitions due to the impact of COVID-19. Contestants who were preparing for the Pleasant Grove 2020 competition will aid Allen in her duties in the coming months. Contestants were also given a scholarship recognizing them for the work they had already put in while preparing for the 2020 program. Allen graduated with honors from Pleasant Grove High School where she was the Dance Sterling Scholar. She danced for four years on the drill team, serving as a captain and spirit officer. One of her greatest loves was teaching dance to her special needs dance class, which she did for three years. Currently, she teaches students at The Dance Conservatory in Pleasant Grove. She is currently a sophomore at Brigham Young University studying psychology. Allen is passionate about her social impact initiative, titled “The Ripple Effect,” and has spent countless hours this past year sharing its message, which focuses on spreading kindness,
positivity and hope both online and offline. She believes in the power of kindness and that the smallest acts of kindness make the biggest difference and bring positivity and hope into the lives of others. She has spent the past year teaching and inspiring students in elementary, junior high and high schools about the impact intentional acts of kindness can have in their lives and in the lives of others. She has worked hand-in-hand with the Kindness Clubs and Hope Squads in Pleasant Grove, bringing hope and spreading kindness to students, children and adults as well as residents in care centers and children and patients in 18 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals around the nation. She has raised $10,300 for Children’s Miracle Network and Miss America Organization scholarships as well as more than $12,000 in sponsors and donations for “The Ripple Effect” service projects and assemblies.
