We’re giving away a free Blackstone Griddle with the closing of any mortgage loan between May 1, 2025 and August 31, 2025.
We here at Interstate Gratings know that a community is a lot like the steel industry; the key to anything long lasting is a strong support system where intricate pieces come together to build something bigger that will withstand the test of time.
We are proud to be one of those pieces in our community that is working to help and support those around us. Much like raw steel we are all extracted from various places; melting together in the hopes of building something strong and durable. May we all unite to support our local community.
Enjoy the celebration!! -Interstate Gratings
FRIDAY, AUGUST 1
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As the sun shines a little longer each day highlighting the gorgeous views of our beautiful mountains, the scent of fresh-cut grass fills the air and all is alive and in bloom, I’m reminded just how special summertime in Lindon City truly is. There’s something magical about these warm months. Whether it’s kids riding bikes along our safe neighborhoods and trails, families gathering at the park and walking their dogs, lemonade stands popping up on the corner with little entrepreneurs, or residents having a fun splash at our city pool, the spirit of summer brings out the best in all of us.
What makes our town of Lindon so unique isn’t just the sunshine
and lemonade — it’s the people. It’s neighbors who greet each other with a smile, volunteers who give their time without hesitation and local businesses that continue to serve with heart. It’s our shared values, our support for one another, and our pride in calling this place home.
This summer, I invite you to slow down and savor the simple joys each day and relish in the good times we are so blessed to enjoy! Lindon Days is sure to bring happy memories and experiences with a plethora of wholesome and fun activities. It’s a time to connect and bring our families together.
Thank you for helping to make our community a wonderful place to live, work and grow. Here’s to a summer filled with sunshine, smiles, and the
refreshing reminder that there truly is no place like home.
Warmly, Mayor Carolyn Lundberg
Daril and Dana Magleby have been selected to serve as grand marshals of the 2025 Lindon Days Celebration. As long-time residents and dedicated contributors to the community, the Maglebys embody the values of service, leadership and family that define Lindon.
Daril Magleby was born in Monroe, Utah, and raised on a farm, where he learned the principles of hard work and perseverance. After graduating from South Sevier High School in 1981 — where he served as student body president — he attended Southern Utah State College before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the New Mexico Albuquerque Mission. Upon returning, he completed a degree in communications with a minor in marketing at Southern Utah University and was actively involved in student leadership.
An entrepreneur at heart, Daril has built a distinguished career in business. He co-founded Label Express, a successful flexographic label manufacturing company, and went on to help lead ventures such as The Pizza Factory and FlexTech. Today, he is a partner at TherapEase, LLC, a company focused on innovative knee rehabilitation technology.
Daril has served on the Provo/ Orem Chamber of Commerce Board, chaired the Utah County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and contributed to public health as a member of the Utah County Health Department Board. He served for eight years on the Utah County Tax Advisory Board
and has been a Lindon City Council member in two separate terms. His service in his church includes leadership roles such as bishop, stake executive secretary, and branch president at the Provo Missionary Training Center. He and Dana also served an LDS mission together in the Scotland/Ireland Mission, offering support to young adults and missionaries.
Dana Magleby was born in Mesa, Arizona, and raised in Cedar City, Utah. She graduated from Cedar High School and attended Southern Utah State College before serving a mission in the Indiana Indianapolis Mission. She worked in various secretarial roles, including at the Provo City Attorney’s Office and the Brigham Young University Police Department, before stepping away from professional work to focus on raising her family.
Dana’s lifelong dedication to service is evident in her church and community involvement. She has served in many capacities within the LDS Church, including Young
Women’s president, in the stake Young Women’s, in the Stake Relief Society, and in Primary. She also played a central role during their mission in Scotland/Ireland and in leadership at the Provo MTC.
Dana has also volunteered extensively with the PTA in local schools, supporting students and educators alike. Together, Daril and Dana have lived in Utah County for more than 37 years and have called Lindon home for the past 30.
Married in 1987 in the St. George Utah Temple, they are the proud parents of four children and loving grandparents to two beautiful granddaughters. Their family continues to grow and thrive throughout Utah County, with deep roots in the Lindon community.
Daril and Dana are honored to serve as Grand Marshals for Lindon Days 2025. They look forward to celebrating this special occasion with their neighbors, friends, and fellow Lindon residents — a place they love and have helped shape through decades of service and devotion.
Mike Vanchiere & Rhonda (Rupp) Vanchiere met at Ricks College in the summer of 1972. They started dating in September and knew after a few dates that there was something very serious and special between them. They continued dating until the summer of 1974 when Mike went on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Fukuoka, Japan.
They were married in October 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple and moved to Louisiana — Mike’s home — for two years, where Mike finished his undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University. They were blessed with their first baby while at LSU.
After Mike graduated from LSU, the family moved to Orem. It was much closer to Idaho, Rhonda’s home state! Mike earned his master’s degree in public administration from Brigham Young University. They were blessed with five more beautiful children in Orem. They have three girls and three boys. They now have 24 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren that have filled their lives with so much joy.
After graduating from BYU, Mike took a job with Provo City in the economic development department. He worked there for about five years before he was hired by a private development company that packaged SBA 504 loans, now called Mountain West Small Business Finance. He worked there until he retired at the end of 2019. He loved his work there. While working there, he was asked to be a national trainer for NADCO (the trade association for
Certified Development Companies).
He was considered an expert in his field and a favorite trainer across the country. He was famous for his funny one-liners, his southern boy charm and his keen sense of humor.
Mike served his community and his church in various capacities. He served as president of the Kiwanis Club, chairman of the Boys & Girls Club and president of the chamber of commerce as well as part of many other organizations and boards. His latest community service was in Lindon City. Mike served on the planning commission, as a city council member, and as a member of the Waste Management Board.
Mike passed away last October due to complications related to a 4-wheeling accident. He loved the Lord. His favorite thing was sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and being a missionary. But, most of all, he loved and served his growing family and his wife. He was so proud of them.
Rhonda attended two years of college at Ricks College and then worked at a bank in northern Idaho while Mike was serving his mission. After they married, she worked at LSU and managed apartments. As the children started coming, she wanted
to spend her time as a mother, wife, and homemaker, which she was able to do. She was the president of the Wives of Public Administration Students for two years and loved that.
Rhonda has served in the Church of Jesus Christ in various positions throughout her whole life. She loved working as president of the Primary twice and serving in presidencies working with the Young Women of the church. She served her community as a voting judge and a delegate to the State Republican Convention. She loves to keep up on politics. While her kids were growing up, she served in PTA as president at both Windsor Elementary School and Timpanogos High School and as council president of the PTA for Orem City. For years, she worked part-time as a receptionist in Mike’s office at Mountain West Small Business Finance. She loved the people she worked with, especially her husband, Mike!
Mike and Rhonda are known for their hospitality and ability to make anyone feel welcome in their home at any time. Their home has been fondly referred to by friends and family as “Hotel Vanchiere,” and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
We have begun our fourth year of the Lindon City Youth Council. It has been an amazing experience for a number of our Lindon youth. They have done a wonderful job representing the exceptional young people that live in our community.
The Lindon City Youth Council is
an organization that is dedicated to providing leadership training and service opportunities for interested Lindon youth in grades 9-12. The youth council offers Lindon area teens opportunities to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for their community, its citizens, and its
elected officials through service and interaction.
The youth council helps the elected officials understand the needs of children and youth in the community and works with groups throughout the city to provide service and leadership opportunities.
Republic Services is Lindon City's partner in environmental services, recycling and waste
Ruby Westover is the daughter of Mike and Sam Westover. She is 13 years old and attends Oak Canyon Junior High School. Ruby is in the A.L.L. program at the junior high, and her A.L.L. classes have been some of her favorite classes! Ruby enjoys reading, writing, drawing, singing, dancing, and being with friends. This year, Ruby helped the Magic Yarn Project by making yarn wigs for children with cancer. Kid’s heads are too sensitive for traditional wigs, so Ruby helped make some Disney-inspired yarn wigs and beanies that were given to the kids at local children’s hospitals. Ruby is absolutely loving serving her city as Little Miss Lindon. Ruby loves where she lives and she has roots that go deep and wide for this sweet town. She has always enjoyed attending all the fun city activities with her neighbors and friends, and now she looks forward to serving her community at these events.
Ava Jensen is the daughter of Becca Jensen and Ryan Jensen. She is 13 years old and will be in the eighth grade at Oak Canyon Junior High School. Ava loves to read, sing, and act. She is a very talented artist and loves to draw and sketch. Ava’s service project was titled “You Are Loved.” She designed and passed out “you are loved” notes within the community and with the nonprofit organization Lifting Hands International.
Ava is so excited to be a part of the Little Miss Lindon royalty and representing Lindon City. She is
looking forward to Lindon Days, especially the Cardboard Boat Regatta and Huck Finn day.
Tasia Knapp is the daughter of Clint and April Knapp. She is 12 years old and will be in the eighth grade at Oak Canyon Junior High School next fall. Tasia is the third of six kids. She loves playing soccer, basketball, and softball as well as swimming, but her favorite activity is dancing. She is a social butterfly and makes friends wherever she goes. She also loves spending time with her family at home, on trips, and especially in Idaho at the cabin where she can ride horses. Tasia spent time searching for and providing resources for the homeless in Salt Lake City with the Point in Time 2025 project. She also organized the 12 days of Christmas for three families.
She is excited to be part of Lindon City. She loves the small-town feel and the great events and programs Lindon provides along with the new friends and acquaintances she has met. Finally being able to dress up like a princess over and over isn’t half bad either.
Emmalie Scott is the daughter of Darren and Marilyn Scott. She is 12 years old and will be starting at Oak Canyon Junior High School in the fall. Emmalie enjoys performing, especially singing. She also loves to swim, play games, stay active, and spend time with her family. For her service project, Emmalie chose to support The Voice For 1, a charity that helps save children from abuse. Through a bake sale and selling heart necklaces, she raised over $1,700.
One of Emmalie’s favorite parts of being in Little Miss Lindon is the chance to connect with others. She loves spending time with the kids; seeing their faces light up when they see her, sometimes calling her a “princess,” is something she treasures. She’s looking forward to Lindon Days, especially helping with spreading dimes for the Dime Dive. She also enjoys working on the float and seeing all of their ideas come to life.
Audrey Sharp is 13 years old and the daughter of Jon and Melissa Sharp. Audrey loves riding motorcycles, backpacking, spending time in the outdoors, hanging out with friends, and competing in cross country and track. Audrey has a strange love for reptiles. This likely stems from being trauma-bonded as a small child by her father and older sister, who were always handing her random snakes. She currently has a fat bearded dragon named Jimmy Dean who she calls Sausage for short. She loves classical music and her favorite subject in school is orchestra. She loves playing the cello and the piano and the challenge of performing on stage. Audrey chose to volunteer at Tabatha’s Local Food Pantry for her service project.
Audrey is looking forward to the Cardboard Boat Regatta during Lindon Days. She competed in it last year, taking first place. She is looking forward to competing in it with the royalty members and cheering others on. She is so happy she is in the Little Miss Lindon royalty and can’t wait to serve her community.
Proudly serving local families with quality plants, landscaping, and garden expertise
Jaina Johnson is a 14-year-old from Lehi with a love and passion for rodeo. She was honored to represent the Lindon Days Junior Rodeo as its second attendant in 2024. Jaina was also a former queen for the City of Highland. Jaina has a dream of someday competing for the title of Miss Rodeo Utah and hopefully Miss Rodeo America.
Beyond rodeo, Jaina is an artist with many hobbies ranging from drawing to painting and even crochet! Crochet is one of Jaina’s biggest hobbies. She has sold items at three craft shows already and also has an online business with a website.
Jaina has experience in rodeo queening, barrel racing, 4-H, horsemanship, rodeo grand entries and more. Her love for animals — especially horses — drives her every day. Rodeo queening has always had a special place in Jaina’s heart. She loves being able to teach and represent the sport she has such love and passion for. One of her favorite aspects of rodeo queening is being someone to look up to for all the young cowgirls. Jaina is a girl of many dreams and talents that she hopes to share with the world.
Carlie Nielson would rather be riding a horse than anything else. Even though that is where she wants to be 24/7, she is very responsible and dedicated to various projects and gives 110% to everything she puts her mind to. Carlie has been training a young mustang for three years. She also recently started
bottle feeding a young calf after its mom passed away unexpectedly. Her goal is to train it and take it to the county or state fair next year.
Carlie is also very diligent with her studies and continues to be on the high honor roll at Pleasant Grove
High School. She has been working for Lindon City for the past year teaching various classes to children ages 7 through 12. She absolutely loves seeing the students she has taught around town at the other city events where she has been a
positive role model. She is currently a junior and looking forward to being a senior next year! Carlie truly loved being in the Lindon Rodeo Royalty this past year and is very grateful for those who helped make it such a fun experience.
Emma Hopkins is 17 years old and is the daughter of Emily and Brigham Hopkins. She lives in Lindon and is the third of seven children. She currently attends Pleasant Grove High School as a junior and has been on high honor roll since seventh grade.
She also has a certificate of achievement in CAD mechanical design, digital business, and manufacturing technology. Her hobbies consist of drawing, baking, and of course, horse riding.
She has loved horses from the time she was very little. Her mother remembers her even at 2 years old wanting “all things horses.” Emma was 12 years old when she talked her parents into letting her take riding lessons. They agreed under the condition that she paid for at least half of her lessons. Emma started putting all of her hard-earned dollars from working in their family business toward learning how to ride. She quickly learned that riding made her feel free; it was an escape from real life. Emma continued to save money and bought her first horse at the age of 15. She is riding that horse, Bandit, today. Emma loves her time with Bandit and learning about the western way of life. Emma has always been a cowgirl at heart and is paving the path toward the rodeo way of life for her family!
