On behalf of the City of Santaquin, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Orchard Days 2025! Whether you’re a longtime resident or a first-time visitor, thank you for being part of our cherished community celebration.
Orchard Days is a time when our community shines — through a parade, a car show, rodeos and countless family-friendly events. It’s one of my favorite times of the year as it brings neighbors together, creates lasting memories and showcases the smalltown charm that makes Santaquin so special.
We’re especially proud to kick off the festivities with the Little Buck-A-Roo Rodeo. Families and contestants travel from all over the state to participate in this award-winning event along with our celebrated RMPRA rodeos. If you’ve never experienced them before, make this the year you do — you won’t be disappointed.
And, of course, no night at Orchard Days is complete without our spectacular fireworks displays. After the Friday and Saturday rodeos, gather with friends, family and new acquaintances under the summer sky and enjoy a show that has become a beloved tradition in our community.
Santaquin may be a small town, but it is filled with big heart, strong values and a welcoming spirit. I invite everyone — young and old, near and far — to join us in celebrating all that makes our city unique.
Enjoy the festivities, connect with one another and make memories that will last a lifetime. Welcome home to Santaquin Orchard Days!
Santaquin Mayor Dan Olson

I am the daughter of Teddy and Monique Hone, and I’ve been fortunate enough to call Santaquin home my entire life. Living in this small town is truly a blessing. I love the close-knit community where everyone is kind, friendly and always ready to lend a hand. Spending time in our beautiful parks, where nature meets community, is one of my favorite ways to relax and enjoy the outdoors. What makes Santaquin even more special to me is that most of my family lives here too, which makes the town feel like an even deeper part of who I am.
As an upcoming junior at American Leadership Academy, I’m actively involved in a variety of school activities, including the hip hop and ballroom dance companies, musical theater, student government and the cheer team. I’m passionate about personal growth and serving my community, which is why I’m so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as Miss Santaquin this year.
Through my platform, “No Generation Left Behind,” I’m proud to offer a mobile manicure service that provides companionship to seniors. I truly enjoy hearing their inspiring stories and building meaningful connections with them. My mission is to combat loneliness among Santaquin’s senior citizens by promoting acts of service. I’m also excited to partner with our local assisted living facilities and Santaquin City to serve our senior residents in even more ways. I hope to inspire others in our community to get involved, helping make our town a more connected and compassionate place for everyone, especially our seniors.
Riley Hone, the daughter of Teddy and Monique Hone, has called Santaquin home for as long as she can remember. She treasures the small-town charm and the closeness of having most of her family nearby. This year, Riley graduated from Joyce University with an associate’s degree in science and is excited to begin her career as a certified occupational therapy assistant. Her passion is to help her clients gain independence and enhance their lives through occupational therapy. Outside of the therapy gym, Riley enjoys performing onstage with local fine arts groups and hunting for unique thrifted treasures to add to her vintage collection. Riley is also deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as a member of the Miss Santaquin Royalty this year.
Lydia Payne is the daughter of Diane and Richard Payne. Lydia has lived in Santaquin her whole life and loves being able to call this amazing community her hometown. Lydia graduated from Payson High School with high honors in 2023. She was one of the captains of the drill team during her senior year. She is currently attending Utah Valley University and is completing the prerequisites for nursing.
When Lydia isn’t busy with work or school, she loves finding new creative things to try. She also loves being outdoors and hiking.

Santaquin City is proud to honor Val and Judy Robbins as the 2025 Orchard Days Parade Grand Marshals — a couple whose lives have been defined by service, dedication and a deep love for their community.
Val Robbins was born and raised in Santaquin. His early education took place in the very building that now houses the Santaquin Chieftain Museum. A natural leader from the start, Val served as student body president in the ninth grade and was active in sports throughout high school. He has carried that same spirit of dedication into adulthood through his hobbies and service. Whether woodworking, hunting, gardening or cheering on his beloved Brigham Young University sports teams, Val is always fully engaged. He also served for nine years on the Santaquin Senior Citizen Committee, contributing significantly to the well-being of the community’s elder residents.
Judy Robbins, originally from Farmington, spent seven years working at Lagoon and graduated from Davis High School before earning a degree in early childhood education from BYU. With a deep passion for teaching, she owned and operated her own preschool for over 20 years. Her talents extend far beyond the classroom — Judy is an enthusiastic cook, family historian and deeply devoted grandmother. Her heart for service led her to volunteer with Santaquin’s seniors for nine years, during which she also served for a time as the city’s senior center director.
Val and Judy’s paths crossed several times before they officially began dating, leading to a marriage that has now spanned 52 years. They raised their family in Payson for three decades before returning to Val’s hometown of Santaquin, where they have lived for the past 20 years. Together, they have built a loving
family that includes three sons, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Family time is precious to them, and they enjoy camping, hunting, playing games and serving others.
At the heart of their lives is their deep commitment to service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Judy and Val describe this as the greatest highlight of their lives, expressing gratitude for the many lessons and blessings that came through their church service. Val spent most of his time working with the youth and was honored with the Silver Beaver Award, the highest recognition in the Boy Scouts of America. The friendships they’ve forged through church and community service remain among their most treasured experiences.
Santaquin City is truly honored to recognize Val and Judy Robbins as the 2025 Orchard Days Grand Marshals. Their legacy of kindness, dedication and selfless service exemplifies the spirit of our community, and we celebrate their contributions with deep appreciation.

Santaquin’s mayor and city council will host a flag-raising ceremony officially opening the 2025 Orchard Days celebration on Saturday, July 26, at 8 a.m. at Santaquin City Hall, 110 S. Center Street. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
During the ceremony, Santaquin City will honor one of its own: Rick Johnson.
A man of quiet strength, deep patriotism and enduring service, Rick Johnson embodies the very spirit of our community and country. Born and raised in Santaquin, Rick is the son of Mark and Shirley Johnson. His father, a World War II veteran, instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity and service — principles that have guided Rick throughout his life.
After graduating from Payson High School, Rick answered the call to serve by volunteering for the draft in 1969 during the Vietnam War. He served for two years in the U.S. Army as a Specialist Grade 5 stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Later, from 1983 to 1985, he continued his commitment to our nation’s defense by serving in the National Guard.
Rick went on to dedicate 26 years of civilian service at the Tooele Army Depot as a heavy mobile equipment mechanic, retiring with a record of excellence and reliability. Retirement, however, did not slow him down. He continued to work
in a variety of roles, including co-owning a fencing company, and he currently contributes to the Santaquin City Public Works Department.
For the past 15 years, Rick has also been a proud member of American Legion Post #84. Through this organization, he has contributed to numerous honorary services for veterans, often leading out with the rifle guard in solemn and respectful tributes to those who served.
Forty-four years ago, Rick married his sweetheart, Lana Cloward. Together, they raised four children and are now proud grandparents and great-grandparents. A selftaught welder, Rick also founded the Santaquin Gun Club and was an active member of the Santaquin Roping Club. In his free time, he enjoys horseback riding, trail riding, shooting, and, most importantly, spending time with his beloved family.
Though Rick may be quiet and unassuming, his actions speak volumes. His heart of gold, unwavering service and love for his country and community have left a lasting impact on all who know him. He is the very definition of a patriot — one who lives with honor and leads by example.
It is with deep respect and gratitude that we recognize Rick Johnson during this year’s Orchard Days Flag Ceremony. His life is a testament to the values we hold dear, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

John Beck has always had a strong passion for the sport of rodeo. He has been clowning rodeos for 28 years, working his first paying rodeo at the age of 13. During his career, he has worked rodeos everywhere from California to New York. He has had the opportunity to work the PRCA Wilderness Circuit Finals two times and the Rock Mountain Professional Rodeo Association finals five times.
John owes a lot of his success to his late father Bruce Beck and his longtime friend and mentor Pro Rodeo Clown Kevin Higley. John loves to put smiles on peoples faces as well as working the barrel during the bull riding. John has worked the Santaquin Rodeo many times and loves the opportunity to come back again.

Longtime father-and-son team and Santaquin residents Tom Manzanares and Marty Manzanares front the Fire Hawk band. This band has enjoyed 42 years of local popularity and success. It was founded in 1983 when Tom parted ways with another very popular band, the Chapparals.
In 1993, Tom’s oldest son Marty joined the band as lead guitarist and vocalist, and the pair haven’t looked back since! The current members are some of the most sought after,
talented musicians in the Mountain West: Randy Corbett (drums), Tony Chavez (lead guitar) and Greg Restad (steel guitar, lead guitar).
Fire Hawk is one of Utah’s top country and rock bands and is known for its edgy sound, showmanship and ability to connect with an audience. Fire Hawk’s style of music can be described as a blend of country old and new as well as classic and modern rock. Fire Hawk truly excels at what it does, and its members love doing it!
Over the years, the band has shared the stage with many bigname acts, including King Calaway, Chris Ledoux, The Bellamy Brothers, Restless Heart, Ty Herndon, Mel McDaniels, Highway 101, Ricochet and Dan Seals.

years. While the band’s bread and butter are Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty, they also play songs from Post Malone, The Cure, Miley Cyrus and a few others just to mix it up a bit.
The lead singer for PettyMac is a Nashville recording artist whose resume includes a hit song that made the music charts. The rest of the band is made up of musicians who have played professionally for decades.
