On Saturday June 14th there will be four regiments reenacting four different periods in history. The 2nd Continental Artillery Regiment is a group of re-enactors from the Revolutionary War. Cannon will be on display as well as firearms from that period. Musket firings will take place at different times during the day and several campsites will be set for display with re-enactors in period dress. The 125th NY Regiment Association will be representing the Civil War period. This living history group represents a typical military campsite of 1861 and is chartered with the NYS Education Department. Tents and campsites will be set up. This group will have musket firings during the festival and wooden muskets will be available for children to help the re-enactors do musket drills. The 99th Infantry Division will be representing World War II. A field table, 4-5 puptents, an ammo box as well as WWII weapons will be on display. This year we are also adding WWI to our group of reenactors. They will have a table with memorabilia from that era. Also in Dorr Park will be The Greenwich Town Historian and the Willard Mountain DAR and the Washington Co. Historical Society with information booths and items for sale. The park is still open to having other historical organizations set up info booths. Contact the chamber at info@greenwichchamber.org. 18th Annual Irish 2000 Festival BALLSTON SPA – The celebration that is midway to St. Patrickʟs Day -- the Irish 2000 Music and Arts Festival -- takes over the Saratoga County Fairgrounds on Sept. 12 and 13 with new groups and old favorites. The festival features more than 25 performers and two days of all things Irish. It opens at 5 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, with performances by Kilrush, Scythian, Clan na Gael and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. On Saturday, Sept. 13, Irish 2000 opens at 10 a.m. and continues until midnight, with three stages of non-stop music and a fourth stage where Irish dance takes the center. Discounted tickets will be available through Price Chopperʟs Tickets to Go program starting on August 3 or through the festival website through Sept. 11. Those using their Price Chopper AdvantEdge Card receive an additional $1 the advance sale prices. Advance sale Friday only tickets are $16, Saturday only tickets are $18. A two-day pass is available by advance sale only at $29. At the gate, tickets for Friday only are $20. Tickets for Saturday only are $25 at the gate. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.
